PSP2 to be seen this year as well??

3DS was annouced this morining as the next DS handheld but looks like it wont be the only one as some analysts expects that the next PSP will be annouced from Sony very soon and is a strong chance to be at E3.PSPGo wasnt that of a good thing for sony so a chance in Sony annoucing a PSP2 is really high. hmm still how did this or those analysts get this info from is byond me but i thought i'd share. what do you guys think? will we see the PSP2 this year too??

lol i didnt want to make poll here but looks like it got posted, oh well :P

this system with ps2 b/c will be amazing do it sony. I think they will make an announcement some time next year.

I think there will be a PSP 2 sooner or later. But I honestly don't care about PSP.

If it has BC I will buy it, I can only hope it will be as good as the PSP.

They want to keep up with Nintendo, I'd expect an announcement by E3.

Will it be announced this year? Maybe.

Will I buy one? Perhaps eventually.

I think there will be an announcement soon. We are already talking about next-gen consoles and the PSP and DS came out before this generation of consoles. I think it is about time for a new generation of handhelds, but none of this half-done stuff like PSP Go.

If it has BC with many PS2 and all PSP games i would probably buy it in a heartbeat.

They obviously cant compete with Nintendo so i expect them to take back the shares from apple and take their route. Yes, we will still have psp like games but ever since the psp go came out with DLC games, i have a sneakingsuspicion they will try out mini games for a cheap price with Ipadcapabilities (reading/internet/video) without the touchscreen.

The minute I heard "Five Hundred and Ninety Nine Dollars" I knew Sony was going to lose their crown. The majority of people that bought the PS2 weren't going to be interested in the premium media center which Sony was trying to pass the PS3 off as.

Some games, like GoW: Chains of Olympus, do come quite close though. It is certainly much closer to the PS2 than it is to the PS1. Nothing close to Gamecube-quality though.

I doubt the 3DS will share many titles with the PSP. But I'm not sure we'll see a PSP2 soon, either. I think Sony will concentrate on incorporating PSP functionality into its phones and creating a strong iTunes competitor over the next couple years, and only announce a PSP2 when they can bring near-PS3 graphics into a handheld at $199 (yes, I do believe Sony will someday learn from their pricing mistakes. I am the eternal optimist).

Said handheld will be marketed more as an iPod alternative than a 3DS alternative.

Yes. and Im guessing sony is going to be over ambitious with the tech and its going to have crap battery life XD

This is a game agenda though, no Sony system has had launch games I wanted ASAP, Nintendo systems on the otherhand have. Frankly I dont care if Nintendo is the handheld king as of now, if the 3DS doesnt have a killer launch 1st party title (it will though) I wont get it.

i think Sony dont need to release the 'PSP2' this year.. if i was Sony i'd propably wait till mid 2011 and make sure the PSP2 gets realeased with a great line-up of titles (specially exclusives)..

There are still amany PSP games i want to play + some upcoming ones :)

Wow thats a nice freakin' piece of technology id love to have...if Nintendo can do it with the 3DS...why cant sony :P i really think Nintendo has went over the top with the freakin' DS's now though....as if DSi XL wasnt enought....seriously....So this is a PSP Go/Slim in one basically ;) alot more innovative but it needs a keyboard and a camera :P i vouch for this :D

i think sony has completely mismanaged the PSP, and Sony Erricson lines for a while now

I'd support going to a PLaystation phone that has a touch screen only for smartphones and getting some PSP games for it

The lack of consumer interest in PSP outside of JP, and the lack of buying software interest may carry over to what PSP sony comes out with in the future

i dunno how it will work out for them but i just can't see a PSP2 beating any new DS, even if they copied everything and sold it for less than the 3DS coz people want Pokemon RPGs, Mario, Layton, Zeldas, Brain Age (at least sales wise)

I see going the Playstation Phone route as having more potential for success. They could pose a better threat to the iPhone than to the DS platform, IMO.

I think they will just launch psp2 in 2011. Peharps with a cross over with sony ericson.

They are already to busy with move in 2010.

And OLED will be feasible by then.

They confirmed a Pokemon game was going to be released towards year's end. It was implied to be a regular DS game. Though given the timing, I suppose it might actually be for the 3DS.

If Sony don't make it BC someone will ... Which is excellent. I hope it's not rushed though,I really enjoyed the PSP not for it's exclusive titles, but because i could play PS1 games on it on the move, plus some PS2 ports it got.

If the PSP2 allows me to play a larger amount of PS2 games, then i'll be more then happy, as long as it retainsd all the abilities of the PSP.

as long as the analogues arent placed like that also the Ipod Touch might go 4G this year with upped specsghost392

actually it's not 4G in terms of network service (like the iPhone 3G/S) but rather fourth generation or fourth iteration of the same product. the new version is going to have a camera and slightly faster processor with a little more ram. just like every upgrade apple makes. add something small that others have had for years and claim it's the greatest thing ever.

as for the psp 2, yes. sony may announce it this E3. it's been known/rumored for months that it will come out in 2010. it seems they may push it back to 2011 to give the pspgo a second chance. the psp2 should rival the original xbox in terms of raw power (a handheld more powerful than the wii :lol: ).
