Eh? I rarely agree with many critic scores anyways. I'm not on that particular bus, but you do have a good point all the same. I'll freely admit that the AAA and AAAA experience has not been fleshed out in VR and it is very much in the experimental phase. Lots of people expecting professional polish, intense graphics, and massive production values are simply not cut out for the current generation of VR software. I get it.
This is why games like CoD get real big scores typically. It spoon-feeds you and controls your experience very well. To me, it's just a big long movie complete with the set pieces. For me, VR is great because it necessitates the abandonment of most modern gaming tropes. It feels good.

Solid observations. I see exactly what you mean. A lot of the games I've played on the PSVR are like a breath of fresh air. It's almost as if devs are going back to a more pure era of gaming, when creativity and individuality were not so threatened by the industry as they are today. I'm all for it. Bring on the strange games.

It doesnt have a system seller game. It should have launched with one and thats a MAJOR fail by Sony. Most people dont buy $500 peripherals to wait for greatness like they did with the console.
This E3 will make or break it for real. Just like last year, I'm gonna try out all the games they have on the E3 show floor and if I get the same vibe I got last year (most of the games are shovelware) given Sony's history I'd say theres a good chance of abandoning it.
Unless they get multiple RE7 caliber games for PSVR, it wont succeed. They have a chance. Ace Combat 7, GT Sport, Farpoint and SW: BF2 will headline for it. But if those dont do it or underperform (what if these games arent good?) PSVR's support could wane.
And you are also confusing the mediocre enthusiasm for PSVR with what people think about the state of VR in general. Its not the same. VR can still do well even if PSVR doesnt. part of the problem is even though PSVR is cheap its lacking good features and makes lots of people sick. I witnessed that first hand myself. I didnt personally but A LOT of people that tried it did.
Sony gets points for going there, but overall I think their overall VR strategy wasnt good.

Neither the PS4 nor Xbone launched (Xbone still doesn't have one till this day) with a killer app nor did the PS3 and 360 yet they are considered successful consoles. In fact, most consoles never launch with killer apps. In fact, Nintendo consoles are the only ones that tend to launch with killer apps.

After several months of very little hard data, we know have the PSVR sales figures. The reports are very optimistic. According to The New York Times, Andrew House, CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, confirmed that roughly 915,000 PSVR headsets have been sold. Sony's personal goal was to sell one million units within 6 months of releasing the peripheral. However, only 4 months have passed since the PSVR launch date. As such, it seems extremely likely that the company will surpass their goal.
This is great news for VR market share, especially after everything that has happened with Oculus. With more headsets out in the wild, developers have more encouragement to develop VR content. Taking that into consideration, VR is still expensive to buy into. PSVR, the cheapest headset currently available, is $400, $500 if you want the bundle that includes the motion controllers and required PlayStation Move controllers. Ideally, we'll see a price drop in the near future that might make acquiring a headset more attractive for consumers. In any case, hopefully we hear more about Sony's upcoming VR content fairly soon.

Sony said in February that it was exceeding their expectations and back in November they said it was on track to meet expectations. Will you now accept the ownage instead of bringing arguments from previous threads to avoid the fact you messed up here?

All the proof PSVR supporters ever need is the fact that they are ramping up production. Clearly, they anticipate a drive in demand.
For reference sake, I have spent all afternoon looking for a claim by Sony that they planned to increase Vita production and couldn't find one. So, it would appear that, at least for now, the PSVR isn't going to share the same fate or lack of support.
