Finally, something I actually agree with FoxNews about.

lol @ fox "news", always looking for an easy scapegoat.blue_hazy_basicno, just looking for easy ratigs. overprotective soccer moms like this kind of stuff, and they get good ratings. they don't actually care about bulletstorm. my multimedia teacher was a sports guy at a sattelite TV station that was a satellite station of fox. news caster and stuff dont care about the news themselves, they just find interesting stories that will bring in good ratings and viewers.
"The increase in rapes can be attributed in large part to the playing out of [sexual] scenes in video games,"she said.
But I thought the number of rapes was decreasing. :?
I lol'd when they mentioned their "experts".
Seriously, its in parents control. That and its a friggin game. Rapes haven't increased because of gaming. Its as much a societal issue as facebook.
[QUOTE="vashkey"]Yay, awesome game gets free publicity!tomarlynI feel like the only one that thinks its hugely overated.
how can it be overrated when it's not even released yet?
Well said. Why this can't be grasped, I dont know. If you wouldn't take your kids to an R rated movie, why would they buy them M rated games? Gotta own up to our responsibilities, parents.Stupid Fox News.
It's rated M for a reason. Mature doesn't mean "Let all your 9 year olds play this game".

Exactly. I don't see why the onus is placed on the developers, when it's the parents who must be buying these games for the kids. Either that, or every young child has fake I.D's and fake beards/moustaches :P
[QUOTE="Dark_Knight6"]Whats ironic is that fox news constantly assaults the government for being a "nanny state" when they try and do the exact same thing with all their crusades. True that!Correct me if I am wrong but last I saw, Bullestorm is rated M. Meaning, it is not intended for those under the age of seventeen. Any child "damaged" by this only has their lazy parents to blame.
blue_hazy_basic
I would argue Fox News is a greater threat to people than Bulletstorm? Bulletstorm is a game but Fox News acts real.
Isn't this why they came up with the rating system? Kinda like rated R movies. I think alot of older people still think of videogames as just for tiny children.
I have to applaud fox news for their epic trolling. They get so much ratings and are the most successful news network because people think that they are being 100% serious when honestly they are just saying stuff for the controversy to pull ratings. I'd think people would get that by now, there's a reason why beck rakes in 32 mil a year and it takes Keith Olbermann 4 years to rake in close to that amount.

Exactly. The idea that videogames are for kids still floats around. Some still think we live in the super mario age and don't know that there are a lot of games out there with gore, partial nudity or strong language.
Only because a product is a videogame doesn't mean it's for kids. Some are just M rated.
God, I hate how stupid those people always are. Instead of blaming video games that are clearly meant for adults they should start to blame parents who let their kids play those. I don't take the 7 years old daughter of my cousin to the cinema to watch Saw and then complain about the movie industry."If a younger kid experiences Bulletstorm's explicit language and violence, the damage could be significant," Dr. Jerry Weichman, a clinical psychologist at the Hoag Neurosciences Institute in Southern California, told FoxNews.com.

Thats exactly it, just hopeless parenting and the mothers who just claim "I didn't know he played it until i found the severed foot in his schoolbag!!!"
How is it possible for a 9-year old kid to play Bulletstorm? D: What kind of parent would buy them it. Heck, my parents wouldn't even let me play T-rated games until I was 13.... The world is so messed up. It's not a games fault for potentially causing kids to go insane and commit acts of violence. It's the parents and the kid themselves.
I agree Bulletstorm is a big pile of **** but not for the reasons given in the arcticle... PoS game is PoS.

Has nothing to do with friends, mate... didn't dig it AT ALL, so not in a million years it'll be the new Battletoads EVAH!!!!
And with kids as young as 9 playing such games, the experts FoxNews.com spoke with were nearly universally worried that video game violence may be reaching a fever pitch.

Isn't the whole point of the whole rating system stuff so that kids DON'T play these types of games? Any kind of parent that would let their 9 year old kid play this game is an idiot.
