Why would a nine year old play Bulletstorm or any violent game for that matter?:? Fox News and people need to stop blaming the games and just start using good parenting skills.

I think Epic should send Fox News a thank you card and bouquet of flowers for the free advertising. You just know the more they talk about this game in the media some people will get curious and want to see what the big deal is. CHA-CHING!!!
So true, I buy video games to learn how to rape people, I don't even want to play them, I just learn raping technqies from my heroes such as Kratos, The Cole Train etc..

I agree Bulletstorm is a big pile of **** but not for the reasons given in the arcticle... PoS game is PoS.

Get some friends. Seriously!
Bulletstorm will be the Battletoads of this generation.
You really need to learn to deal with people not liking the games you love. It's not healthy[QUOTE="Raymundo_Manuel"][QUOTE="GreenGoblin2099"]

You really need to learn to deal with people not liking the games you love. It's not healthy... but who could dislike Bulletstorm?! Any game with a demo that begins "Hey-ya pasty" and ends with "This game's not gonna' preorder itself ****-****!" is pretty much impossible to dislike, in addition to the glorious fun that is beating your friends' scores.
My god do I hate Fox News. Right wing hate-mongerors.
Darth-Samus
Don't you dare hate on Fox. They have exposed Obama's attempt to corrupt little kids in this game!
/trollface and such
Does ANYONE like FOX? Never met one person.

What state do you live in?
I know a dude slightly younger than me who doesn't preach Fox, but agrees on most of it's views.

I know some people... *shudders*

As for Bulletstorm, I'll be holding off on buying it for a while.
Rockpapershotgun is running dick*** first into this gangbang. It's on.
And my money's on this John Brandon character silently bowing out, not acknowledging the argument John Walker is presenting, admitting he was wrong or apologizing in any form.
Its rated M, these morons need to realize its the parents doing, i`m sure most stores dont sell games to minors
What a complete load of crap :|
As long as parents do their job enforcing the idea that real life situations like this is not ok, and make a child understand its wrong and just a game, it'll make a world of difference. Language is another thing, but that is found in every single form of media, and coming from peoples mouths faster than food goes in it.
As for rape...Its a really disgusting crime. I'd say one of the lowest, but I'd associate that more with desperation, significant childhood problems, and abnormal brainwaves honestly. All games are trying to do by implementing it is bring more reality to the game. Its not as if sex is just a myth.
The whole article is just bufu. As for bulletstorm, they shouldnt worry as it'll probably be terrible anyway haha. Leave the cheesiness to duke.
That's pretty much how I feel too. Game sounds like it's a bunch of cheap gimmicks to get sales. Personally I don't want excessive violence or swearing in my games just to have it. It's one thing if it fits in with the plot or story, but seems lame just for the shock factor. Its another stupid FPS, of course they have to add this stuff in order to make people care about it.

That's what she said.. So.. that means we have to shoot muslims and russians all the day?! Gimme a break! It's a new game, a fresh thing. That's what they say about all new things, like video games years ago :roll:And, it will help kids learn that it's more effective to kill a oversized mutant with a double sided chained type of grenade that with a machine gun. That will help them survive, so here's one of the many many good points.

And that's why it's sale is restricted. I wonder if Fox have the same outcry when a yearly Saw film is released?Ravensmash
Are you kidding Glen Beck and Bill O'Really are the first on line at the premiers. They love that...
Finding something that illustrates how out of touch FoxNews is with the real world is like finding a hipster at an Arcade Fire show. I'm amazed that people take that channel seriously.
this is all true, i played the bulletstorm demo and within 24 hours had raped myself.
i kept saying no no no... but my eyes said yes!
 i'm so ashamed

Bulletstorm is over the top on this stuff. It is not a game anyone should buy for their kids. The problem is most parents see "video game" and think Pac Man and such. As popular as video games have become, non-gamer parents are still totally clueless on what is actually in them. Unfortunately, non-gamer parents are the overwhelming majority. That is what fuels news pieces like this one and legislation that tries to enforce video game content ratings. Movies are totally different. Pretty much everyone watches movies or TV and has a good idea of what is appropriate or not. IMO Bulletstorm is a basically demented. I don't get the mentality of a development team to think it's OK to actually make a game that relies so heavily on explicit language and sexual references. And that's not even touching the intensely graphic violence. They have to know this will get into the hands of kids whether or not a rated M sticker is on the box. Fox News is not to blame here either. This is not a right wing-left wing issue. Fox is conservative so they will naturally be the ones airing against this game if anyone, but don't be surprised if CNBC and more liberal outlets bash it too. Most parents, right or left, are not going to want their kids touching this game, nor should they.-ArchAngeL-777-so in other words, you support equally as violent movies since they have a rating on them? this game has an M for mature on the box, a descrption of what things in it it has on the box, retails are required to ask if you are over 16 years old to play this game, and if any trailers are on tv, it is the same as a movie trailer basically. Nice double standard there. It is ok for the devs to make a game like this if its ok for R rated movies to be made, and equally as bad or worse content to be aired on SOME tv channels. If you're get gets scarred for life for playing it, then YOU are responsible and a terrible parent. Ignorance is no excuse. This applies to everything.

I didn't say I support anything on the level of Bulletstorm. I just said that parents today are far more aware of what is appropriate or not in movies and TV than they are Video games. Video games are still, considered a kids hobby by most of society. Of course the parents are ultimately responsible, but that doesn't excuse dangling inappropriate material in front of kids faces. With Bulletstorm and a few other games, devs are crossing lines that most games are not willing to cross. Why? Is it really going to make the shooter that much better? Probably not. For every game like Bulletstorm, there is a COD, Socom, MAG, Battlefield, Halo, on and on, that are as good if not better without all the extra toilet humor and over the top M rated material. If you need that to make a game, then you probably don't have a good game to begin with.
