COD4 is suppose to be based off realism, if it wasn't blue, well.......... As for gears, it looks like it went through a mud filter. Thats not my problem though, rather, I find super mario more brain stimulating then gears. Then again, I'm not a shooter fan so I have a huge bias in that sense.

Games are about fun. They are also about drama, action, etc. That is why they are entertainmentSpruceCaboose

im gunna go ahead and say that the smartest gamers and the gamers that enjoy the most depth are lbp players. or at least the ones that create the awesome levels. also you are miscategorizing. first you have enjoyment/fun. in order for a game to be fun/enjoyable you can do one of many things to your game like creating depth or realism or control schemes or complex interesting level designs or many many many other things. game creators all strive for one thing and that is fun/enjoyment. fact is gears, resistance, stalker are all FUN games. they just use other elements to achieve this other than colors and such.TheMistique

Well, you insulted the people you wanted nswers from, your post was too in your face for most to handle, you told me SMG has no depth. Really? Platformers are my favourite genre and I can say that they have a lot of depth when done correctly if you know what your looking for. You will rarely find truly engaging mp in a platformer as that isn't what the genre is about. What you look for is imagination, ceativity, level design, originality, fun factor. Directly comparing LBP and SMG to GEOW, MGS4 etc is not going to get you anywhere.

Yes, usually it is by wii fans who are trying to defend the fact that most wii games focus on plain and simple fun, while PS3 and 360 games seem to want to delve into greater depths. Anyways, game's don't have to be about fun, they can be about so much more. Games are an interactive medium that can engage a player in a variety of different ways.
