"Graphics don't matter" is the new cliche phrase of the year...

you do know when when say "Gameplay over Graphics" we're meaning Graphics aren't As Important as Gameplay, graphics do matter but Gameplay is better Gamespots reviews prove it, because Gameplay is worth .3, and Graphics are worth .2 in Gamespots Review system.

You do realize not much else can beat Gears of War in visuals right? where are you going to be when the graphics department on all platforms maxs out and you can't get any better( which i see happening by 2008) graphics than gears? and then you'll finally understand gameplay is where its at. but by then i guess the Wii will be smothering all competitors in sales that'll have to have learned it. if the Wii is considered a compliment system than so what? while people debate whether to buy a 360 or PS3, than if its a compliment system they'll buy one of the Wii at least and take away from one of the other two's sales.

if 5 million ppl buy ps3, and 3 million buy a wii coz its a compliment system

I like when my brain becomes immersed rather than my "wii"elbow...

so you're saying Halo, shooting with a button, is more immersive than figuring out a puzzle in Zelda brainwise?

hell BRAIN AGE is more immersive brain wise than most of the 360/all of the PS3 library!

graphics will hit a peak. there will be a brick wall in your future sir, will you try to climb and fall or turn around and enjoy everything where its at?

rpgs always immerse the brain, well the good ones.

Zelda:TP is a more immersive experience on Wii than most games.

There's no way you can say any game in the 360 library out right now takes more brain "immersion" and thinking than any Zelda game in the series let alone TP. Seriously , shooters VS puzzles? hmm, i wonder which one i'll have to think harder with?

Graphics matter, because video games need graphics to present themselves. The more accurate thing to say would be "Photorealistic graphics don't matter."

If you can't enjoy a game because the characters don't look real, then you probably shouldn't be playing video games in the first place.

Isn't it funny how we change and manipulate to fit our own needs?? The whole reason I started this thread was because this morning I read a quote from someone on this board who said, "Graphics never mattered to me." Not "Gameplay is better than graphics" or "I prefer gameplay over graphics"  This thread was designed to call out those who seem to ride the new "wiitastic" bandwagon that "ehem, Graphics don't matter"  Graphics matter, and always will.
