Seems that the game fared a lot better than its source material as it currently sits at 28 on the almighty Metacritic. A surprising turn of events

This is also movie with a colorful cast of characters and an abundance of multifarious worlds. Yet nothing much changes. The curtain closes on the leading pair in the most mundane way possible, and for all we know, their experience didn't change them at all. Ratchet and Clank pulls us across the universe at a breakneck pace, but it never seems to take us anywhere. The series may have found success in video games, but in the meantime, it's merely stumbled into film.

Forget the movie. The game is fantastic, and yet another reason to own a PS4.

The trailers were awful for the movie. I was hoping some of the humor in the film would have fared better.

I wonder how much system wars would blow up with cows damage controlling if the metacritic score belonged to the game. It would be way more interesting to watch than Quantum Break's flop.

A movie flopping can damage the brand in general so it does matter moving forward.

I wouldn't buy game based on a movie if the movie was awful. And im just one person so I mean like there's a crossover there.

Game is better than the movie, as always.

I am not a big fan of Sony's animated films yet. Shame Ratchet didn't break that trend as the games are fun.

I wonder if they're still going to go through with all those other Sony first party IP movies, like that Sly Cooper movie they showed a trailer for a few years ago. That one looked awful, and they're all being made by the same studio that made this.

EDIT: if im not mistaken, the same studio also made that awful Heavenly Sword movie too.

Seriously was anyone even interested in this movie? I love the game but had no intention of watching the movie. Maybe if I was ten, so it should interest a few system wars users, cos I swear that's the mental maturity of some of the posters here, tantrums and all.

Clearly the "game based on a movie based on a game" schtick was something they thought would be punchy in advertising. The game must have been in development about as long as the movie, and both are based on the original game. Why make a "chicken and egg" fuss? Game = great, movie = poo. SW = about games and systems. Not much more to say methinks

I think it works for advertising the game, not so much for the movie.

Glad the game is excellent. Wanted to watch the movie initially but I think if you have played the game, you know half of the movie already.

Sure, but that space also has Disney and Pixar, and Ratchet and Clank on their best games weren't up to snuff with that bar.

They messed up the story, anyway. It's a good game, but it suffered from being tied in with the movie. Hope the other games won't suffer as much.
