Most people dont care about graphics now, which is why the Wii is outselling the PS3/360, just like most people wont care about graphics in 5 years, which is why the Wii will still be selling better then.

Products that last are ones that are successful, and the Wii is more successful than 360 and PS3 and then some.

Well obviously no one on this site knows how long things will last, and this is my opinion. Fact is the playstation franchise has been going since 95. Nintendo has been going even longer. But the Wii hasn't. And I highly doubt Nintendo would take the Wii into their next generation. They might keep it around, but theres only so much you can do with what it is. And they will probably introduce something NEW next gen. And if that's the case 5 years down, then the Wii was a fad. While PS and Xbox keep steamrolling

Ok, first only HARDCORE FANBOYS think the Wii is a GC with a motion sensing control, the Wii's market, the casuals and non-gamers, don't even know the difference between the GC and the Wii, so they don't care about it. Second, the system is fun to play and that's why people is buying it, it's easy to use and you have a blast when you play it with REAL people, and last I checked that's what a gaming console should be. Third, all that shovelware crap games that you are mentioning are probably crap to you as a Hardcore fanboy but they are incredible fun moments for casuals and non-gamers, just look at Mario and Sonic Olympic games, it has sold 5 MILLION WORLDWIDE!!! yes a game that you call "shovelware crap", you don't like it but Nintendo's market DO, and that's the only thing they care about!

No my friend, the Wii is not a fad, it's a reality, it's changing the gaming world, we hardcore are been left behind, we are the minority now, the casuals and the non-gamers dominate now and that is why the Wii will never lose its track, Nintendo is betting on the biggest market out there and guess what? they are winning it, they have no real competition there, so how can they be beaten when there is nobody else fighting you the biggest market out there??

The Wii is a console that everybody should have, it gives a different type of gaming entertainment, that why I have it, so I can have the best of both worlds, I can satisfy my hardcore needs with my 360 and really enjoy gaming with my Wii, what more can I ask??? (No, I don't need a blueray player yet ha ha ha), only fanboys don't see this logic!

The Wii is the only console that stays true to itself. How many different versions of the 360 and the PS3 are there already? The Wii hasn't seen the need to change while the 360 and the PS3 have to constantly.

The PS3 had a hell of a launch yet sales went down big time right after. The Wii's sales have been increasing or consistent. Fads are things that are very popular for a short amount of time. The PS3 is a fad, the Wii is obviously not.

they called the wii a gimmick and fad before it came out, yet here we are 1 1/2 years later and its still sold out at most places.

The ps3 and 360 have sold almost 30 millon to gamers. The Wii has sold 20+ million to the general public. Look at it's sales. Mario and Sonic Olympics 5 million+ already :roll: These games will keep the public happy for a couple years before they move on. Of course the Wii has it's hardcore gamers but they don't stack up to the 360 and Ps3s

The way I see it, the Wii isn't a gaming system, it's a toy, a toy that appeals to ALL ages so of course it sells.

If you really cared about "hardcore" gaming, you should've got a PC which has the most unique genres and longest lasting games. Wii is a TRUE console and I think it has more right to be called such than the 360 or PS3.

Well obviously no one on this site knows how long things will last, and this is my opinion. Fact is the playstation franchise has been going since 95. Nintendo has been going even longer. But the Wii hasn't. And I highly doubt Nintendo would take the Wii into their next generation. They might keep it around, but theres only so much you can do with what it is. And they will probably introduce something NEW

Nintendo -> SNES -> N64 -> GC -> Wii

Obviously the Wii is a nintendo system. But what seperates all the playstations? Nothing except they are upgraded. What seperates the Nintendo systems prior to Wii? nothing but they are upgraded. The Wii is completely different not like anything ever before.

while its true alot of people own wiis and PS2s with the bad graphics, its ignorant to say no ones cares, thats not true at all. No one looks at a wii and 360 and goes, "hm, i dont care about graphics, im gonna get the wii!" talk about a fanboy statement. The wii is considerably cheaper and appeals to a different,larger group (grandparents, adults, young children; as apposed to the teen/young adult group that most console appeal to).

All it proves is that gameplay and graphics are of equal value, and people want a good looking game to compliment the exciting game play, they want the visual satisfaction when they do that move or w/e.

And yes, the wii is more successful in sales, as everyone has said since like, the first month the wii came out. But it doesnt mean it is the more succesful console overall.

Can't agree with that dude, if you count the sales of 360's, PS3's and PC's, then you will notice that millions of people do care about graphics, the sales prove that.

all 3 systems really have the same audience, maybe PC owners will disagree, but are all the same. imagine if the 360 didn't exist, that system wouldn't cut into the PS3's sales, just imagine how many PS3's or 360's would sell if it didn't have another system competing for the same audience.

nintendo is in a world by itself, completely different audience. I would never buy my child a 360, not good enough for children, I wouldn't buy a PS3 either for a child, but I would consider it more over a 360. but a Wii would be a definate purchase.

price also means a lot, I've had many parents here at work ask me about systems, and they always decide Wii cause its so much cheaper.

of course you will disagree, of course you will scream nintendo has better games, but in the end the Wii is the cheap alternative to play games. buy the system and it comes with a game, you don't need an HDTV etc.

don't get me wrong dude, the Wii is a great system, but there are many reasons why the system is doing so well and its not just about people not caring about graphics.
