Do you think there are enough exclusives between the two consoles to justify owning both?

Is it the blu-ray player in the PS3 that convinced you to buy it as a second console?

If you own both which one do you buy most of your games for? How much play time does the other console really get?

Are there really not enough games on just one of the consoles to monopolise your play time?

Yeah I think so, 360 is reason enough because of there awesome gaming library while the PS3 has great games such as MGSIV, Warhawk, Rachet, MLB The Show, and there's a bunch of interesting game to look forward to on this console imo.

As for which one I spent the most time on, well it my 360 but PS3 get a reasonable amount of time due to MGSIV and MLB The Show for me.

Do you think there are enough exclusives between the two consoles to justify owning both? Yep.

Is it the blu-ray player in the PS3 that convinced you to buy it as a second console? No, but it was an added bonus.

If you own both which one do you buy most of your games for? How much play time does the other console really get? I use the PS3 most as I buy nearly all multiplats on it. It's about 60/40 in favour of PS3.

Are there really not enough games on just one of the consoles to monopolise your play time? Not really.

- Yes, Ido the PS3 started off slow but now the real quality exclusives ae finally coming out.

- No, I don't care about Blu-ray at all and probably never will.

- I buy everything for my PS3 and only use my 360 for exclusives. My PS3 gets 80 of my playtime with the 360 getting 15% and the Wii getting 5%.

- The 360 doesn't have enough quality games for me to only play it but neither does the PS3 or Wii at this point.

- Sadly, no.

- No, but it certainly helped.

- The Xbox 360 gets the lions share of my gaming time and it's the console I buy my multiplatform titles on.

- There are. Truth be told, I could be a one console gamer this generation and be perfectly happy.

I don't think they do right now, but if the games that are supposed to start pouring in actually start pouring in, then absolutely.

No, had I owned a PS3 before a 360 I probably wouldn't buy a 360 as the libraries share tons of games. But if I owned a PS3 I would be more compelled to buy the cheaper system in the 360 which currently has more exclusives and more multiplats due to PC/360 rather then if I owned a 360 buying a more expensive PS3 for less games.

Its all about money. They both play pretty much the same games yet the 360 is cheaper in addition to it representing more exclusives, more quality excluisves and a more diverse line up.

I gotta say I like the PS3 a whole of a hell lot more then the Wii. But the $250 entry price for those Nintendo exclusives was cheap enough for me to take the plunge.

Imo no. I have a 360 right now along with a Wii. The 360 gets the most play time out of the two. PS3 doesn't have enough exclusive games that interest me to spend $400. I'm sure MGS4 is a great game, as well as Uncharted, but not good enough for me to make that kind of investment. I also don't have a HDTV so Blu-ray means nothing to me.

Am a happy owner of both the PS3 & 360... you get to enjoy exclusives for both consoles....

I personally have PS3 as my main console, and with releases such as SOCOM, Wipeout HD, LBP, Resistance2, Disgea 3 & Motorstorm2 it will remain that way.... but i'll still get to enjoy titles such as Geow2, Fable2 & Left4dead...

as regards multiplats i usually tend to get the PS3 versions...

I own both systems and I tell you.... you'd have to force me to buy a non-exclusive game for PS3. It's a nice movie player and the exclusives are decent though.

  1. Yep, there are enough exclusives as of right now to justify both consoles.
  2. No.
  3. I prefer the PS3 as a hardware so I play all of the multiplats on it and I buy only the exclusives for the 360.
  4. I can't live without the PS3, that goes to the 360 also, both have alot of games that interests me and can't imagine missing on them.

I am amazed at the people who say they couldn't find enough games from just the one console. I can see that people might like the option to play every game going but I can't believe people have enough time or money to play every game they are interested in.

People obviously put a high value of some games as we are talking $400 to play the 8-9 quality games a year that don't appear on the other console. (according to this thread 5) And that assumes that every one of them is to your taste.

I have a brother who owns a PS3 so I can easily played it on his console, but as for time I don't have that much due to college but there are rare moments where I go for 3 hours straight(makes up for lost time).:P

I think there will be in the future

Other than exclusives that is all I use my PS3 for.

I play most if not all multiplat games on the 360.

So at current there really is not enough exclusives that take much time for the PS3 and most of them are once you beat them and they are not that exciting to play again. But that is my opinion.

lol, alot of people can put alot of time for their favorite hobbies, just check out my collection of games for both consoles for example.

As for the review thingy, don't take everything for granted, reviews don't mean much for me, I get what I like and what Im hyped about, this is only for the SW sake, it is not a fact either.

Sure I agree a good review isn't everything, but I would suspect there are as many well reviewed games you don't like as there are poorly reviewed games you do. So it likely balances out to similar territory.

I own both, but I only have Resistance and MGS4 on the PS3. After beating MGS4 I haven't touched it again. I was going through Amazon to see if I could buy something else for the system. I ended up buying GoW2, Final Fantasy XII, Tekken 2, Shadow Hearts Covenant and I don't remember what else. I just don't see any ps3 games that interest me. I get the multiplats for the 360 and that's the one I play the most.

Yea thats a possibility also but I think the real number would be between 7 to 10 great games on PS3 depending on personal tastes, the 5 great games listed in the other thread were too much exaggerating.

I think if people want to decide their purchase by reviews, they should look for more review sites and magazines and these sources should also be major review sources like IGN, GT, gamepro, eurogamer..etc, that way people know what to get better than going by one review source.

Well I've played Lost Odyssey and Im playing Infinite Undiscovery now lol, the games are coming this year, the problem with companies now that they hold their game releases for the holiday season, I wish companies learn from the MGS4 and GTA4 releases is big games will sell no matter when the game launches.

Its been that way for years, and i have to wonder what publishers are smoking tbh. Nearly 3/4 of the years games are released between September and December. Then the publishers moan when their big game gets lost under the pile of the 40 that came out the same time

I agree. I only own the 360(not out of hatred for PS3, just price at the time and personal preferal) and I don't have time to play all the games I want to. In fact even the games I own have been put on the back burner as I have bought new games. I have 5-10 games I own which i still need to find time to go back and finish, forget the new games coming out. That is why I can't see shelling out another $400 for another piece of hardware that might only have 2-3 games in the next # of years that I want to play and can't on the 360.

I always laugh at the post that say you must be poor not to own such and such or all 3 consoles and a PC. I don't understand how people can have a job(to get the money) a social life, etc. and still have the extra time to make having all 3 consoles worth owning.

But to answer your question I would be playing it if was out right now but it isn't. I won't get to play it until about 2010 when it releases Shungo.

Do you think there are enough exclusives between the two consoles to justify owning both?

Is it the blu-ray player in the PS3 that convinced you to buy it as a second console?

If you own both which one do you buy most of your games for? How much play time does the other console really get?

Are there really not enough games on just one of the consoles to monopolise your play time?

cakeorrdeath

Well not really. All the IMPORTANT 360 EXCLUSIVES sooner or later appear on the PC in better quality. But thats not the case with PS3.

Do you think there are enough exclusives between the two consoles to justify owning both? - Theres not enough on the ps3 imo

Is it the blu-ray player in the PS3 that convinced you to buy it as a second console? No but mgs4 did

If you own both which one do you buy most of your games for? How much play time does the other console really get? Multiplats , 100% xbox360 , better online, betterpad, friends online and achievments. Ivturned on my ps3 to play a ps3 game about 10 times tops.

Are there really not enough games on just one of the consoles to monopolise your play time? Theres more than enough on the 360 ,If i had the choice now , i would have just borrowed my girlfriends brothers ps3 and mgs4

So I guess Ninja Gaiden 2, Forza Motorsport 2, Perfect Dark Zero, Project Gotham Racing 3 and 4, Dead or Alive 4, Kameo, Dead Rising, Tales of Vesperia, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Halo 3, and many, many more that I don't feel like naming aren't "important" by your standards?

the ps3 will be worth it once it hits 250 and has god of war 3. i sold mine since 90% of my gaming was on 360 and i hated mgs4. too many multiplats and too few exclusives to justify 400-500 for a ps3

Mmm hmm. There's R&C too, but I wasn't really blown away by the newest game.Teufelhuhn
I dunno why, I never liked those games. In fact, the only 3D platformers I've liked were the Maximo games, Super Mario Galaxy, and Metroid Prime. I understand that I'm using platformer loosely.

Do you think there are enough exclusives between the two consoles to justify owning both?

Yes I do.

Is it the blu-ray player in the PS3 that convinced you to buy it as a second console?

No, don't really care about movie playback on my gaming console. But it's nice to have

If you own both which one do you buy most of your games for? How much play time does the other console really get?

I buy most of my multiplatfrom games on the 360 because all my friends have one. I like to play some games online with them

Are there really not enough games on just one of the consoles to monopolise your play time?

nope I really don't want to miss out on the exclusives.:)

I work 12 hours a week, just imagine how much time I have left for having fun and do all the other stuff plus gaming lol.

I could easily play 6 hours a day if I get addicted into some game ( MGS4, Mass Effect, COD4 ).

Lucky you, I got college so I work 35 hours a week and I can barely find time to play my 360. I will play it again when Gears 2 comes out and maybe Fifa/Pes.

so why buy both? Its so wasteful, and your only looking at 5-4 decent exclusive games on each one

The answer yes ......... you just have to have

  • money
  • time
  • like all kinds of games

Just look what is dropping on the ps3 exclusively upcoming for the rest of the year

  • Wipeout HD
  • Socom Confrontation
  • LittleBigPlanet
  • Motorstorm Pacific Rift
  • Resistance 2
  • Valkyria Chronicles

Not to mention the backlog ... MGS4 , Uncharted , Resistance , Ratchet , HS , Warhawk , etc.

It really just comes down other factors ..... objectively , great content is there for both to justify having both.
