1st no hate just stick to the facts.

2nd 3DS needs an addon to add another analogstick, which means consumers are being ripped off who bought the first 3DS.

3rd Why I'm saying first?? Cuz its clearly a new 3DS is on its way with two analogsticks.

4th Consumers are being confused by this marketing, like I said many people will feel to be ripped off by Nintendo. Of course monsterhunter is the only game to support this slidepade but once its there and once vita comes out with two analogsticks many programmer will make their games on this addon too and persuade Nintendo to bring a new version.

5th the thing needs batteries, which I thought would be a thing of the past in this generation.

6th It looks goofy too, and remembers me of this Gameboy lens.

7th Not only gamers will be confused by it so will the programmers as they have the choice to support one analogstick controls, two or both for their games.

8th 3ds is still too expansive in comparison to the vita.

9th 3DS is also the first Nintendo device to be sold lower than it should be, the same goes probably for vita too, but sony has a better online service which makes more money with the enduser on time. Nintendo just failed to make a good and profitable online service.

10th people can't see the 3d effect in videos or pictures unless they tried it out, many casual gamers who aren't that much of an insider in gaming but want to buy a new handheld will see a Nintendo device with Dreamcast-ps2 graphics and a Sony device with xbox-highend graphics in online footages.

11th Vita can be linked with the ps3 which makes the console a counter selling argument against the wiiu until ps4 comes. People can buy the vita instead of the wiiu, having a handheld which is as strong as your consoles and having the same experience as wiiu can last the ps3 probably for another 2 years.

12th Nintendo can't do something like this as the 3ds as for now has no two anologsticks, there are also no plans to release Nintendo wiiu without the controller to give consumers who bought a 3ds an opportunity to save money by buying a new console. We also don't know if its technologically possible unlike they bring a whole new 3ds. If they do they will face a lot of distrust by consumers as I said.

13th The 3d effect can be influenced by your playing as you might walk with it or just smash too hard on the buttons.

14th As I said sony has a way better online service which can make the vita a direct competitor to apple and android while Nintendo has to do a good online service at all.

15th sony has still a backdoor with xperia play if mobilephones get too mighty, Nintendo is lacking something like this at all.

16th vita has more and better controls than the 3ds.

17th vita is a device of its time, the thing is way stronger than 3ds and the pure power in it can even keep up with gaming laptops seriously. Being hermit myself I don't see a point in requiring laptops for gaming only if vita is out. Of course it comes down to choice like controls or resolution to ''I can hold everything with my hands'' views but when it comes to price all what you can get in the laptop market is an intel atom netbook with an intel gpu for vitas price. Also the Vita isn't as loud as netbooks too and you have to think about that for many notebooks and tablets the software is made for different devices from their kind to tower pcs while vitas software is made for vita making the device even more competitive to the above.

Hmmm facts you say. More than MH have been announced to support it, the new KH game is one of them I think.

For the most part that seems to be opinion or unbacked up "facts". Obviously there are some facts in there though.

Reason why 3DS will sell more than Vita:

1. It's a Nintendo handheld.

Whether you like it or not, when people think handhelds they think Nintendo. I'll be getting both so this pointless war between the two makes no difference to me.

I haven't seen any Vita games that you can't play on a console/PC yet, so I'm betting most people will either buy a 3DS or stick to their console/PC.

Especially since the Vita will most likely be plugged in during an extended gaming session. If someone had to choose between playing CoD at home on the Vita while plugged in or playing CoD on a HDTV with xbox/ps3, they'd most likely choose ps3/xbox.

I disagree with your propaganda Mr. Goebbels.Vita looks as attractive to the consumer as the PSP GO.After the PSP and the PSP GO both flopped consumer confidence is very low on Sony. The only reason why you appreciated their multimedia device(and never a gaming device) is that the PSP was a hackers dream.

The only game in the only market Sony had a succes is now a Nintendo 3DS exclusive(Monster Hunter 4).You can only like Vita if you dont have the Xbox 380 or PS3/PS2 then it would make sense to buy a overpriced handheld to play watered-down PS3 games or old PS2 ports.A PS3 with the same IPs(higher quality),better graphics and thousand times better games library is still cheaper than the Vita.Vita is only for little kids who arent allowed or are restiricted to play games on TV by their parents.

We all know Sony is shooting themselves in the foot with the Vita and should drop it altogether BEFORE the launch,as it looks like Vita will be Sonys equivalent of the Dreamcast.Vita will probably bankrupt Sony.If you are a core and a real gamer then the only choice for you is the 3DS with Monster Hunter 4,Mario 3D land,Mario Kart 7,Resident Evil Revelations,Paper Mario,Fire Emblem,Kid Icarus,Super Smash 3DS,Zelda Ocarina and Luigis Mansion 2.Vitas only noticable game is Uncharted which is NOT made by Naughty Dog so it will be as good as a free flash game on the internet.

I've heard free flash games are great. I've seen people spend months playing facebook games.

But yeah, Uncharted without Naughty Dog would be like replacing Lara Croft with a man. It's still the same game, but 80% of the appeal is gone. :x

I don't think the boat peripheral because it needs batteries will cause the Vita to sell more. By the way you've got to summarise your points better, thats way to much to read.

yeah but again the vita has no system sellers. the reason why the ds crushed the psp, was because of the software. stuff like new super mario bros, pokemon, mario kart and nintendo dogs (when touch screen gaming was thought of as being new) lead the way to the success of the ds. these popular software basically made the ds the success it is/was today. if nintendo get these successful franchises out again then things can be different.

i believe the vita will outsell the 3ds. it looks a lot more interesting and also will be more advanced! these days, the market has changed from casual(wii) to advanced tech(everyone wants the fastest strongest new tech). i as a gamer am not interested in the 3ds one bit, it's a gimmick, and i can't see why anyone would pick the 3ds once the vita comes out! can't wait!

Yeah but put some Uncharted not even made by ND up against Paper Mario or Smash Brothers, how could it even compete?

You're speaking of the minority. What matters are the games, not the tech. And this is why some will buy the 3DS, for the games

NaughtyDog is overseeing development, the same way SantaMonica studios did with the PSP God of War games, which I have half a mind to say were MUCH more fun than the console GoW games.

Animal Crossing is not a system seller by any means.

Only Mario and Pokemon have the capacity to shift systems...Monster Hunter to a lesser extent.

Not me I will get both systems but I don't want Uncharted because I skipped the 1st two and I plan on skipping the 3rd since I don't want to have to play catch-up.

The game that interests me most on Vita is Gravity Daze.

Regardless of developers, Uncharted should really stay a console franchise.

Its cinematic storylines can only be experienced (in my opinion) with a massive TV + leather arm chair.

Playing Uncharted on the subway or bus...just sounds very strange.

is anybody REALLY going to be playing Uncharted (or the VITA or 3DS in general) on the subway or the bus? This isnt 1998-2003, we arent in elementary school any more. You and I both know the majority of the people who buy this are going to have their asses sitting on their couch or laying in bed playing this thing before they sleep, with the thing plugged into the wall socket.

(which is also why im getting a kick out of sheep trying so hard to make the battery life thing a big deal. Most are just mad everyones been hating on the 3DS, and want whatever they can to divert the attention back on Sony )

You're absolutely right.

But I'm different. I legitimately live in a massive city and commute to work via subway or bus...

And I take out my 3DS to play a couple of quick, 10 minute missions in Pilotwings or Star Fox.

Unlike most people, I actually use my handheld as a HANDHELD, not as a home console you just use in bed.

If you're gonna get a Vita, I'd suggest Little Deviants.

Sure, it may be just an assortment of mini-games. But its really coming up nicely and is perfect for those 15-20 min gaming bursts.

The Vita has every chance to sell more than the 3DS. It's just like how noone expect after two generations of sony domination that nintendo would come out and crush the competition in hardware sales. Anything can happen.

supdotcom

Sony won with PS One because Sega flopped too hard and Nintendo came 2 years too late.PS2 won because Sega flopped hard again and Mircrosoft and Nintendo came 2 years late.Plus PS2 was a DvD Player and Sony maintained a brand loyality by using the same name and backwards compatibility for the console.I am not saying the PS2 was bad,it is actually one of the best consoles of alltime but still.Microsoft realized Sonys tactics and and brought their HD console first on the market and maintained the brand plus Nintendo took all the casuals with the Wii and the result is the (relative) commerciall failure of the PS3.Sony went from first place with 100 million more sales to humiliating last place.

PS1 and PS2 were a succes because of third parties and take them away you get the commercial failure of the PSP and PSP GO.Nintendo can survive without third parties as proven by the Wii but Sony has no chance at all.3DS has the brand loyalty(just like the ps2),backwards compatibility(like PS2),third party support(e.g. Monster Hunter 4) , Nintendos magical games,a headstart in install base, less expensive hardware and software(production). The result will be deadly for Sony and Vita will be very, very lucky to even surpass the earth-shattering success of the PSP GO.

The result will be deadly for Sony and Vita will be very, very lucky to even surpass the earth-shattering success of the PSP GO.

lol, you lost all credibility with this post.

PSP shipped more than 70+ Million units. That's at least 3x the number of Gamecube sold. In contrast, GBA has 80 million and PSP is still not finished. There are still several upcoming games in the horizon.

It may not have matched the DS but it's far from a commercial failure.

The Vita has every chance to sell more than the 3DS. It's just like how noone expect after two generations of sony domination that nintendo would come out and crush the competition in hardware sales. Anything can happen.

PSP was a commercial failure in comparison to the DS and Sonys home consoles. But just not that:the Gba was for about 3 years on the market without any successor. The PSP is out since 2004 without a succesor(so almost 7-8 years). It is like someone studying for a subject for 3 years and getting a 80% score in the exams and there is another student who is studying the same subject but takes 7-8 years to get 70% in exams.Just tell me who looks intelligent and succesful and who looks stupid, retarded and unsuccesful.Plus for Sony it also about software sales:The gba games sold much more games than the PSP .You could reply that piracy was to blame for Sonys handheld, but that doesnt change the fact ,that the PSP was more than underwhelming.Exepct Vita to go to the same route as the PSP GO.

i believe the vita will outsell the 3ds. it looks a lot more interesting and also will be more advanced! these days, the market has changed from casual(wii) to advanced tech(everyone wants the fastest strongest new tech). i as a gamer am not interested in the 3ds one bit, it's a gimmick, and i can't see why anyone would pick the 3ds once the vita comes out! can't wait!SpeedsterCards

with that Logic, I don't see why anyone would choose a 3DS or a PSV when the iPod Touch is still on the Market.

Reason why 3DS will sell more than Vita:

1. It's a Nintendo handheld.

Whether you like it or not, when people think handhelds they think Nintendo. I'll be getting both so this pointless war between the two makes no difference to me.

No... Sony's handhelds have been out for a while. I think when people think handhelds these days, "hmmm sony or ninty?" Ninty's handhelds been out like forever, but sony's been out almost a decade. It's pretty well known now.

1st no hate just stick to the facts.

5th the thing needs batteries, which I thought would be a thing of the past in this generation.

6th It looks goofy too, and remembers me of this Gameboy lens.

8th 3ds is still too expansive in comparison to the vita.

13th The 3d effect can be influenced by your playing as you might walk with it or just smash too hard on the buttons.

15th sony has still a backdoor with xperia play if mobilephones get too mighty, Nintendo is lacking something like this at all.

16th vita has more and better controls than the 3ds.

HFkami

I didn't feel like picking this apart for the sake of my lulz, so I picked the funniest ones.

1:  Some list of facts to follow.

5: An optional peripheral needs batteries. Keyword optional.

6:  Goofy? Seriously? That's a fact?

8: Expansive? What in tarnation does that even MEAN?

13: Learn sentence structure and diction, and maybe you might make sense with this one.

15: How does the Xperia Play have ANYTHING to do with Vita outselling 3DS? Correlation FAIL.

16: Opinion.

Cool story, bro.

Releasing a super powerful handheld is also a gimmick.

It has the best chance to out sell a nintendo handheld out of any competeting handheld but I'm not to concerned with whether it sells more. I'm much more interested in what the vita is offering me in terms of both games and as a multimedia device and I really like what its looking to offer in both regards and for the price is very appealing piece of hardware. I'll get also be getting a 3ds later on once its cheaper and has been revised. The ds was a disappointment for me I bought one based on all the praise but I enjoyed the games available on psp alot more the move towards 3D graphics for games on the 3ds vs 2d graphics of the ds is bringing out alot more games that appeal to me similar to the psp.

[QUOTE="StrongDeadlift"] NaughtyDog is overseeing development, the same way SantaMonica studios did with the PSP God of War games, which I have half a mind to say were MUCH more fun than the console GoW games.

Looks pretty damn good to me.

StrongDeadlift

And that's why the 3DS will sell more than the Vita. Would you rather play uncharted at home on a tiny Vita, or play uncharted on the HDTV + leather armchair? People will just stick to their consoles over the Vita.

I can say the same for the 3DS....would you rather play mario kart and land at home on the tiny 3DS screen or on the HDTV..??

I like the Vita hardware, but not interested in ANY software for it. That's the problem.

ActionRemix

Samething kind of goes for me,

By the way half of these points are stupid and like the first 7 points are about the analog add on which should have been summarized into just one point. The Vita still doesnt have any games making worth a purchase and by the time it comes out in North America 3DS will already have Resident Evil, Kid Icarus, Luigis Mansion 2 and I think Monster Hunter 3G is coming this december in japan right?

Plus im pretty sure the analog add on will just disappear eventually and we probably wont see a new 3DS with and added stick. And I just have a strange feeling like nintendo wont release the add on outside of japan....

3DS has Monster Hunter 4 and a Trip port. Vita on the other hand, does not.

That's how the 3DS differs from the Vita. With the Vita you're getting "watered down PS3 games" and PS2 ports. With 3DS you're getting exclusive games that you can play only on the 3DS.

So you either play Mario Kart 7, Mario Land 3D, and Pokemon on 3DS, or you don't get to play them at all.

Also Uncharted seems to be like the only game people are talking about for the Vita, in my personal opinion the Uncharted games are pretty boring, the first uncharted came out when the PS3 pretty much had no good games, so thats why it sort of gained more popularity because it was one of the only games worth picking up at the time.

Despite how pretty Uncharted 2 looked it got really boring quick and predictable ( I mean seriously how many times did Drake fall off of something only to grab onto it and then almost slip but then pulls himself up or have somebody else pull him up?It happened like 15 times!!) I really cant see myself playing through it again.
