We haven't had a solid WWII game this generation.
Wasdie
call of duty 2
Overrated. The campaign outside of a the first american mission and a small amount of british missions was boring beyond reason. The BIA game was very bland and that MoH game was terrible.
But the PC versions MP was awesome! I played over 500 hours of it....:( .

[QUOTE="TheAcountantMan"]This game will sell pretty awful, you can quote me on this.IantheoneTbh I think it will sell quite well. Maybe not day 1, but it will be selling for years to come. Just like Killing Floor. Even though Killing Floor sold a little less than a million, it's still a huge success. Small budget, no marketing, no publisher. They made a lot of money from it.

So what is your definition of awful sales? Does it need to sell 1 million the first week?
many people think a video game has to sell millions within afew days to be an success[QUOTE="Iantheone"][QUOTE="TheAcountantMan"]This game will sell pretty awful, you can quote me on this.GeneralShowzerTbh I think it will sell quite well. Especially with all the deals they have been doing with their awesome updates.

I'm more worried a CoD fanboy reviews it. What I will hate though is I KNOW GS will give it a 8.5, yet in a few months will give MW3 a 9.5.

Just stop with the COD hate. The reviewers know the difference between this game and a COD game. Anyways, you can't really comapre them. I think the game will score an A becasue of the lack of single player.
Oh man someone tell him about when G4 review Red Orchestra 1
I'll get it eventually to support this incredible push to do something interesting but not for the sake of being just that. Although WW2 and FPS (how more generic can you get) they manage to create very unique gameplay. Now I just hope that it'll be good and polished enough to spread among consumers.
Can we expect a demo or a beta? I want to buy it, but I want to 'feel' it up first, see if it's my kind of thing. I cant spare any money these days.
its only popular cus it has good graphics. world war 2 is dead in gaming
dontshackzmii
the graphics suck for a PC exclusive, WW2 isnt dead, but it was so overused last gen its just made people so tired of hurr durr nazi's, america saves the day #456
RO2 is getting a vietnam mod at launch or something, im guessing more people will play that

That's not true at all. It's popular because it isn't going the overly simplified route that other shooters are taking. Having some realism in your PC game sells.

launch week of this game is going to entertaining to watch. Going to be alot of complaints about the game being too hard since 1 shot can equal death. Is this TripWire games? I loved Killing Floor, despite how low budget it felt, hope this game is just as good.
And because it's being made by Tripwire, you knows it's going to have INSANE gunplay
Bad graphics + no decent singleplayer + boring gunplay = No buy for me. NerubianWeaver
yeah DOTA has such good graphics and such great single player

Well, I heard your complaints on another thread about graphics and SP, and while that's all fair, RO should never be knocked for boring gunplay :x. Aside from ARMA 2, RO1 had some of the most thrilling weapons to use in a military shooter ever. Where other shooters are just line up and shoot, RO was about learning the feel of a weapon and learning how to use it efficiently in the battlefield to help your team. And with adjustable rifle sights and iron sights for scoped weapons in RO2, there's just huge layers of functionality that makes it behave like an actual machine system firing real bullets, rather than a fancy looking stick that lights up and makes loud noises.
Tripwire gets authentic gunplay better than any other studio, and that includes Battlefield 3. Dice might have fantastic audio engineers, but firing a boltie in RO outclasses gunning somebody down in BF any day. And that is my honest opinion.

DotA is just a custom map of Warcraft 3. Are you seriously comparing a 2003 game to a 2011 game? And beside DotA was distributed for FREE.[QUOTE="NerubianWeaver"]Bad graphics + no decent singleplayer + boring gunplay = No buy for me. Sharpie125

you didn't even the tanks in RO2..complexed as hell ^I mention RO tanks way too much. Just about in every post I make about the game lol. The level of interactivity inside the tanks and the many systems that can be damaged (repairably or irrepairably) are mind blogging. This is one of my huge draws to RO, the vehicles and guns act like real machines. A tank isn't just a bigger health bar and explosive gun for a player. Vehicles need to be feared in more military games.
Looking good. Only FPS for PC gamers to look forward to for the rest of the year.

DotA is just a custom map of Warcraft 3. Are you seriously comparing a 2003 game to a 2011 game? And beside DotA was distributed for FREE.Well you're complaining about bad graphics while your favorite game is DoTA/WarCraft and it doesn't matter what year the games were made/released since you enjoy a game with dated graphics period so you shouldn't complain. Also you ignore the fact that this is mainly a multiplayer game like all of Tripwire's games and I don't know what you mean by "boring gunplay" but ok. I guess you played the game.

[QUOTE="NerubianWeaver"]Bad graphics + no decent singleplayer + boring gunplay = No buy for me. Heil68The gunplay is actually what sold me on it, totally different than any other game.
Its not that its different. It just harks back to a FPS time before Scifi and military sprayfest games took a hold of the public. Now, it seems they took what was golden back then and have expanded the idea even more and used some of the subtle addons of newer games. It does seem to be very nice. I can't wait to pop out a few rounds 300-500 yards off, lead my target, account for slight bullet drop and one ding a guy in the head with a rifle.(not sniper rifle.. something like a K31, or Carcano... I can't wait.
I agree, this game is looking good and i've been keeping my eye on it a little bit. And KF2 would be.... AMAZING. xDI hope the gameis a success they put so much work into that no other game does like 3D scopes, mounting guns on to solid surfaces, etc. I'd love to see Killing floor 2.
