REDFALL looks incredibly rough, but its time to predict its score.

Maybe a 7, although I'm hoping to enjoying it more than that. Arkane is probably my favourite developer and I hope this isn't the first time they disappoint me.

This has the potential to be an online hit regardless of score, which is dangerous. I don't want Arkane stuck with this game.

What do you mean by 'rough'? It's using Unreal 5 for the engine so the graphics definitely don't look 'rough'. The lack of variety in the gameplay is what looks bland. This will get boring within a few matches I'm betting.

The latest gameplay looks like dogshit. What else do you want me to say? Yes, the ign game journo that can barely even control the damn character is in the top 3 shittiest i've seen (with the doom 2016 from polygon and metro exodus from non other than ign), but when you pay attention to what's happening on your screen instead of focusing on his "wtf is this" aim, you quickly notice that the actual gameplay loop looks like a cheap mobile game, and i don't need to explain to you what that means.

as a GP enjoyer though, agree, doesn't matter at all. will try it regardless, especially since its co-op. bad/mediocre co-op games are still a blast with friends

Honestly, I really like Arkane, but I can see this getting a 6. Nothing in the game looks special or stand-out. The game just looks bland and uninspired. Gameplay looks boring and unengaging. Just not what I was hoping for from an Arkane game.

Yeah, those were my thoughts. Arkane is such a good, reliable, consistent developer that I'm assuming these videos just aren't conveying what's so special about the game. Because as is it looks meh-ish.

Yong was pointing out how people in the industry were criticizing IGNs gameplay of the game. It was their gamplay that made the game look terrible (or thr person chosen to capture and edit)

He also points out how the hands on previews have been generally positive and they increased his hype for the game.
