I have not read a review from either site in a while, but I think IGN are more thorough, longer and they GENERALLY try not be to bias. Van Ord purposefully tanked RE6 because he said he wanted them to go back to the old style. He used his platform to send a message instead of doing his job. So he didn't review the game on its own merits, but rather what he wanted it to be. And that is a top guy here so how can trust any other reviewer?

As for why I like IGN better overall I think the site layout is superior.

I remember that as well, wasn't that much of a big deal to me and people just getting their jeans in a twist but it certainly damaged IGN's credibility or at least however much they have left.

I didn't care about the game or review in general but it definitely made me question IGNs reviews more.

No apparently that is what Gamespot said by their actions in that particular. Although as shown by Van Ord's review Gamespot has no quality control.

That reminds me about TotalBiscuits video on God Hand where he talked about the game and why it didn't sell well and IGN were a very probable cause to it because of their review.

Honest question, how were they forced? They had more than one option, but they choose to put money over a  journalist valid criticism.

To not trust a site that fired a reviewer because they put quite a bit of money into advertisement and then the reviewer reviews it fairly but that fairly ends up being rather average and medicore and so not in compliance with where the money was going?

I don't know, sounds kind of plausible to not trust any source to me.

A 5.9? I don't think it's going to be that bad.
