[QUOTE="LostProphetFLCL"]you must be mistaken, no1 was hyping this.Honestly, never understood why some people were getting hyped for this one. Game looked like ****....

There were a few. They weren't crazy hyping or anything but there was a group of people on here who were looking forward to the game.
This, and KVO praised it a bit. It does seem to have it's flaws. But nonetheless it seems like this is the first game from the studio. So not bad.Don't care, still want.

As someone who posts on three different gaming forums, I somehow have no idea what the f*ck this game is, and only recently saw the mundane box art.Blabadon
Thank god, it's not just me.
I only found out about this last week when a friend of mine asked me if I thought it would be something he would enjoy.
Haven't heard/seen anything before that, weird. :?
I played it at PAX East. Â Its a fun game to play. Â I'm a bit surprised the reviews are as low as they have been. Â I didnt get to see much of the story, but a lot of the game mechanics. Â I came out realizing I would have to play this game. Â Obviously the game mechanics (fighting, platforming, etc.) wont change throughout the game, so I have no idea why its getting anything lower than a 7-7.5. Â Like Kevin said, its a fun, solid entry in the action game genre. Â Gameplay reminds me of a mix of Arkham games and Uncharted.
Most of it's bad reviews seem too centered on the story, and whatever "potential" direction the reviewer thought the game should take. Â I'm not sure what to make of this because I've seen some very linear, confined action games get much better overall scores with not a whole lot more of a plot *cough* Uncharted 3 *cough*.
I agree it would have been nice to see more exploration options of the world and better use of the memory mechanics, but I don't think it should be tanked for that like IGN and others are doing. Â Kevin's score is more fare. Â I expected it to be somewhere between a 7.5 and 8.5, depending on who reviews it.
I like the looks of the game; the character design and the look of Neo Paris, but the combat and it's animations looks like shit. From I've read so far it looks like my gut reaction to it is accurate. I'd rather have a game look sub par graphically, than to have to deal with shitty controls.
I cant help but feel it's games like this that make developers and publishers want you to pay for used games.
You made a sub-par game... developers should eat the cost.... not consumers.
as it is.. i will probably never play it unless a friend lets me borrow it or can get it at a under $15 price tag.
Looks like another game held back by the 360. Good thing Last of Us is close to release. Have fun with this lemmings.CJ_ofCamelot

He truly is. One of the few reviewers I actually agree with a lot of the time.

This is why todays journalism can't shake off that layer of hypocrisy, they are only considered good at their job if they manage to match oneself opinion. SMH
Well to me what good is a reviewer that I never agree with ? I would just stop reading his/her reviews. I base my decision on whether to buy a game on reviews and lots of other things I've seen from the game, so of course I think that someones opinion that matches with mine, when it comes to games, is a good one to value a game on.
What kind of point are you trying to make ? Does that point have anything to do with how I value reviews and reviewers ? Nope :?
Played a bit of it, this games combat is so bland. You literally spam button combination and then just roll out of the way of oncoming attacks.
the platforming basically plays itself as well, the only way you can fail any of it is if you drop from a ledge on purpose.

Holding onto something so unyieldingly to me is unreasonable, disregard something just because you don't agree with it, narrows the path of forming and develop new opinions, and having a diverse discussion with someone else.

You shouldn't justify your point by Polarizing his, its a waste of time. Obviously he doesn't mean you should do the exact oppasite.Holding onto something so unyieldingly to me is unreasonable, disregard something just because you don't agree with it, narrows the path of forming and develop new opinions, and having a diverse discussion with someone else.

Please stop. As you don't have a clue what you are talking about.
Why would I continue to spend time on reviews that have no factor in whether I buy a game or not?. Stop with the "disregarding people's opinions so you can't form new opinions or have diverse discussions" BS. I don't disregard people's opinions, I'm open to new ones. We are talking soley about gamereviews and those reviews being able to give you an opinion on whether you should buy one.
What good is an opinion you have never agreed with once then ?
What wrong is it to say you like a reviewer because he has the same game tastes as you ?
Obviously rhetorical questions. You don't have a clue what you are talking about.

My point ? Thing is that I follow game reviewers that I like and I know they have a taste in games close to mine.
I don't have a point in this discussion as I don't even see this as a discussion. Therefor I'm not trying to justify it. I'm trying to ask lordsadic why my opinion is so wrong.

Look, sorry if I offended you in some way, that was not my intention. The point I was trying to make is quite very simple, gaming sites out there gotta keep their customers happy, and a part of it is achieved handing out reviews accordingly to what most of the people are expecting the game to be, and not exactly to reflect the reviewer opinion; otherwise people will just tag the site as "biased" or "controversial" (even if the reviewer gives valid points about his criticism.) and pass to ignore it just because it doesn't reinforce their opinions.
I actually got to enjoy RE6 thanks to a review pointing out the complexity of the game mechanics and how you could play in a lot of different ways, I went out experimenting with the thing, for my surprise I was actually having a blast with the game despite initially hating it.
