you're saying that as if the graphics are bad. that game has amazing graphics, its just that the general view is that it wont have the best graphics on consoles, which i agree with.

Alan Wake was not announced as a PS3 exclusive. It was announced for the PC, PS3 and 360.
Its lenghty dev time kinda killed it in that department. It looked amazing when we first saw it but weve seen so many better looking games so Alan Wake doesnt impress that much anymore.
The game looks great, up there with the standard, just doesn't go above and beyond the standard, and push the hardware. There shouldn't be harsh words for that. Oh, forgot, we are in SW...
well it got down graded. the version you seen back in the days was running on a pc. since the 360 cant match the power of the pc, they had to downgrade alot :(

Yeah that was it, my mistake. I remember now, I think it was first announced at Sony E3 2005 press conference and then for the 360/PC the same E3 with the PS3 being dropped later. thanks for the correction.
Im a Sony fan but I really really like Alan Wake. Thats the only thing I found good about MS E3 conference. The game looks to be very fun. And the graphics are nice too.
I recall the game beind hyped for its advanced use of high end CPU capabilities for streaming and physics a couple of years back, it didn't get hyped for its graphics until they started showing it off on 360.

I wouldn't consider it a belief when there are plenty of past examples to choose from, but that's a different subject.
What I said was the PC and 360 versions are going to look the same, PC of course will have its higher res and filtering but the art assets are going to be the same. They reassured 360 users of this in the old Q&A, artificial exclusivity to Vista didn't compel them to make any improvements its seems.

Perhaps with new titles since Windows 7 is around the corner, but they decided Alan Wake would only work on Vista quite early in its development when they were just showing it off.
i dont see why it matters. we get a new graphics king every 4 months so why the hell does anybody care.graphics only last so long. its gameplay, innovation, and narrative is what makes a game unique and memorable.yes killzone 2 looked amazing, but it was matched by RE 5 only a month later. it had mediocre controls, and a lackluster storyline.it probably wont be remember for anything other than its internet hype. yes graphics do matter, especially for immersion, but doesnt mean that much. alan wake alreadyhas an incredible atmosphere.if it can nail the gameplay and story itll be an awesome game. a perfect example is valve.yes source is definetly starting to show its age, but their games are brilliant. look at half-life 2.at the time it was a game thatlooked like no other. but after 5 years people dont talk about its graphics, they talk about its great narrative, interesting puzzles, realistic supporting cast, and tremendous level design. soa word of advice. graphics dont make a game.
