that never even crossed my mind..this thread would explode into a 500 posts flamewar.[QUOTE="lawlessx"][QUOTE="789shadow"]
Dang, same score as FFXIII. Too bad this isn't an exclusive, I would have liked to see the hilarity.

I know, it would have been epic! :P
I don't know if it would be quite as epic as you expect. :P I'm sure a lot of people would just say "FF isn't that great anyways, so if this game got 8.5 it can't be that great"[QUOTE="789shadow"][QUOTE="lawlessx"] that never even crossed my mind..this thread would explode into a 500 posts flamewar. :lol:110million

Interesting, does that mean this game is on par with FF13? :PStevo_the_gamerThey're both "Great" :P
They're both "Great" :P FF13 is greater:PTechnically, since this one came out after and achieved the same score. Wouldn't that mean RoF is better? :P[QUOTE="carlisledavid79"][QUOTE="Stevo_the_gamer"]Interesting, does that mean this game is on par with FF13? :Plawlessx
I picked it up a couple days ago but I've been finishing off Yakuza 3 and still need to go back to FFXIII afterwards, but it will be next on my list, its nice when a game exceeeds expectations for once, the review sounds like demon's souls from the difficulty, which is awesome too. 110millionNah, I have the game. Though I'm only at chap. 1, I can tell that the difficulty is not the same kind as DS. For one, you can retry battle at any point for a meagle cost of 200 rubies (the currency). This is very important since in boss fights, things can be ugly if you make one false move (if your party gets to critical status, the offense/defense becomes super low). You can basically use trial and error, only with less pain of dying. I don't think we need to explain how frustrating dying is in DS. You can spend hours gaining nothing but the simple knowledge of what lies ahead. Not to mention the battle systems are totally different.
I'll get around to playing it sometime this year, I'm all JRPG'd out right now after beating FFXIII. :P
How could you know a thing like that? I'm sure I can get this game anytime I want this year.Nice score, good thing i boguht it, all RPG fans need to get this game as its getting rare way too fast

[QUOTE="the-obiwan"][QUOTE="princemarth23"]why? cause its system wars :PNo.

Exactly. Cuz I say so :)
No really though, I don't like it that much. Hopefully it gets better. The battle system just isn't doing it for me tbh, and the story (or lack thereof) doesn't exactly motivate me.

Yeah but when I talk about difficulty, I'm talking satisfaction and excitement of not having the game spoon fed to me, more than the actual gameplay.
Considering this is basically a budget game compared to FFXIII, I'd say it's Tri-Ace's hard work really paid off.
I'd like to see the production cost of FFXIII compared to RoF then I'll tell you which one was terrible. I'd be willing to bet that RoF was a 1/3 of the price of FFXIII and was still able to achieve an equal score (Technically RoF is ranked better than FFXIII because standards change over time meaning an 8.5 now is superior to the same 8.5 given to FFXIII).I guess this is another terrible game like FFXIII. Too bad. :(

Indeed. FF13 is fantastic, but itshould have been more with the resources it had, plus they really built the hype sky high before it released. Can hardly blame us for giving the two games different treatment.
Wow surprising!!! This is great. I haven't had much time with it. I rented it to see if I'd like, so far its pretty cool, not completely sure if i want to buy it though. We'll see.

The smaller cost only lets you restart the current battle with the exact same conditions you entered the fight in. If you moved from room 3 to 4 in a dungeon half dead you would be restarted half dead. If you wish to restart with full life and hero gauge it costs considerably more. The cost also rises as you move through the game. At the moment for me the cost of standard restart is 600 and 80 000 for a full heal restart.
