Ridding ourselves of Consoles

This thread contains some great examples of how former console gamers would be received on PC in the event consoles disappeared from the marketplace. Tell me, why would we want this? lowe0

Well we could set up some basic rules, I am sure we would all get on.

Initially we could have an ask permission before posting/speaking rule for the ex-consolites (or Ex-cons), this would resolve most issues almost immediately.

Indeed, it is a desprate situation for hermits really, they have all that power in hardware, but near zero games use it and those that do are on xbox 360, usually with better gameplay (Mass Effect 3 etc) or better graphics (Witcher 2 best lighting on 360) etc

PC has zero JRPGs like Lost Odyssey, Tales fo Vesperia, Ni no Kuni etc or Fable 2 etc

Only some diablo clones and startegy games and atrocious MMOs

They continually write of a few of the best games this gen imo like RDR because of console exclusivity yet forget how good they are RDR was one of the better stories this gen.Mind you now that i've said that some butthurt hermit will come in with some pretentious drivel that nobody in the real world has heard of or cares bout that much.

Bah i still need complete that game, i have it collecting dust in book-shelve. I gave up 4hrs in to the game because it was so frustrating aiming and i had other games that felt more worthy of my time :?

I didnt find aiming to bad, it was a far sight better than GTA's but once you get past it i found it to be a good game.Undead Nightmare is a good laugh aswell love belting bout on horseback and zombies just come out of nowhere hahah, wish i never sold it so i could cover my ass on my phone bill but it beats going into overdraft :P

RDR and Heavy Rain are only console games I'd actually love to have on my PC.If any got ported,that'd be day 1 for me...

To deny that RDR is a great game is simply foolish,and not even SW hermits are that stupid...

You're making a lot of assumptions based upon what you think is likely to happen.

There would still be consoles, they'd just all be Windows or Apple based.

Consoles offer a streamlined, fairly reasonably priced gaming experience for the home setting. That's how I view consoles and that's what I'd imagine drives a lot of people to own one.

I'm never going to be sitting in a room with my friends playing Mario Party or Rock Band on a PC. It's just not gonna happen. The PC provides important games and services, but consoles are just as important to me when I'm in different settings.

Yeah,I guess you can find some dumb herms here and there,but that's just jelly speaking,a general consensus in the PC community is that RDR is a great game.Also,do keep in mind,SW hermits aren't an accurate representation of the PC community...

Same applies to other factions,we're the minority here,not representations of our respective systems...

I'll say RDR is one of the few reasons why I bought me a PS3(got stolen quickly,though,but didn't bother replacing it after I played the games I wanted on it)...

It is only the fast pased places i have trouble with, like in beginning you ride around and need clear the village from attacking wolves, dmn they was fast and gave no time to aim, was spray and pray haha. But ya it is a nice game.

I gotta watch some Clint Eastwood western movies to get in mood to start play RDR again :P

But yeah,I too did had some problems with shooting during more intense firefights,I find gaming on controller very clumsy whenever the game needs precise aiming...

Still,was a very minor flaw for me,the game was far too good to focus on such minor flaws...

Consoles aren't going anywhere. Because consoles are becoming more and more like PC's with each generation anyway. Consoles could very well be upgradable in the future just as PC's are.

Nope. Red Dead Redemption is truly a great game and I admit I wish it was on the PC, but I still love playing it on my 360.

Im just sick of consolites overhyping exclusives. There are some good exclusives to be sure, but the fact remains that the vast majority of games released in this industry are multiplatform games. Personally speaking, 9 out of 10 games I love are multiplatfrom games. Yet many consolites act as if exclusives were all that existed.

I find it very dubious that any individual would just happen to like the majority of exclusives on a console. More likely, a person will find a handful of games that truly appeal to them among the exclusives on a console.

For example, I really like Halo and think Gears of War is pretty decent, but I don't really care about Forza or Kameo. On the PS3 I really love Uncharted and think God of War is pretty good, but I didn't think Resistance or MGS4 were very good. I basically own a handful of exclusives on both consoles and the PC, but the majority of games I love this generation are multiplatform games.

mmm I like having both Consoles & PC to choose from...

Although i've become more of a PC gamer, I still have fun gaming on my consoles...
