Rumor: Gearbox developing Halo 4 as launch title for next Xbox

I think we really can't say that as long as we have the Mario series.

I doubt this is true. I just can't see gearbox making the nextgen halo game. The diehard halo fans would probably get in an uproar, especially since bungie is so good at supporting and feeding their fans.

If they do make it though, they better be prepared to live up to sky high expectations, the littlest flaw will cause people to go beserk.diped

Well Gearbox has always been good at single player games so I bet they could give Halo a real campaign (one that doesn't suck hard).

As for multiplayer if they messed it up that would be a damn shame.

Well gearbox is a better company than bungie so i would rather gearbox make it...the exclusive multiplayer maps they made for halo on pc they did the port are better than the maps bungie made.

Yeah but MGS had the same developer through the whole series. Right now Halo 4 would be like a MGS5 only with someone else making it and the story being changed drastically to make room for the uneeded sequel after a game pretty much stated the series ended.

There's no logic in the "just let this franchise die" comments. It's a good franchise that plays in a unique way. If you want a series to die, ask for the COD series to die. More installments, multiple devs working on it. 11Marcel

The single player story is usually more insulting than a fighting game. At least they recognize they can't make a story so they don't even bother with it rather than load me down with some straight-to-dvd quality tale or the story only appears after you've beaten 12 random matches and the credits roll. Not to mention you're just shooting AI characters. Multiplayer >>>>> Singleplayer. Half the game is worthless in both story and gameplay.

If thats not reason enough to think its a waste of time and money, the genre died to me when nobody took innovation further than Descent and Quake's gameplay is equal to or better than most current FPS. How the genre has gotten worse with more experience and talent is baffling. Its like the whole is less than the sum of its parts.

Halo should stop at Halo 3. The series would have to change significantly to survive another generation. Tony-Harrison

my bad. I disagree though, I played games like UT, Quake and SoF alot back then, and I'm still enjoying shooters today. They don't feel like a waste to me.

They made the horrible port...of Halo:CE, OH LORD NO!!!1!

Srsly though, that was port was optimized like **** and the only was lagtacular!

As for multiplayer if they messed it up that would be a damn shame.

They could basically just copy/paste anyone of the 3 multiplayers and it would be awesome.

With minor tweaks because of the new hardware of course.
