Dreamcast didn't have cross game chat. Dreamcast didn't have anything remotely like Live, at all. RROD isn't anything new....RROD is like an error code...A way to let the user know something is wrong. It's not a specific problem. I don't see why people don't understand that.YOU FAIL
Get a clue before posting. RROD is a general hardware failure. Meaning, there could a number of different things wrong.[QUOTE="MortalDecay"][QUOTE="Flam3Thr0w3r"] Haha, you just owned that guy man. Nice one. :D
What did he do, exactly? Nothing...He just showed one example of MS taking an idea from Nintendo. Now, let's compare every idea that a company has taken from another company, shall we? Nintendo, and MS have offered new innovations, and made current innovations better. What has Sony done?LOL
first u make a comment how sony copies MS then when someone shows u what MS copied it becomes ok because its what a ompany does LOL
what has sony done?
so u think having a storage disc that can handle 50gb is nothing not to mention the ps2 helped push the DVD format
inovative thing MS did is get its users to pay to play online if they really wanted to they could charge for the features and just give online play for free
Dude, all companies copy from each other...But that's all Sony does. Remember HD DVD? All HD DVD players had Ethernet ports. Sony didn't add ethernet ports to BluRay until later, completely screwing early buyers. Some can argue that DVD helped the PS2, since that's the only reason people were buying to the begin with.Better late than never I honestly dont care for Cross Game Chat. I dont bother talking to friends as some of them are either annoying or they distract me from my game. It's good if Sony put it in though, there seems to be a demand for it, and System Wars generally seems to think that Cross Game Chat is the one great feature that significantly gaps Live from PSN[QUOTE="CaptainHarley"]
wow this would be a great feature, it only took sony a few years to catch on to it

Yeah I don't talk to many people on the PSN apart from people I actually know in person.

Correction it should be a standard when u pay for an online service, not if the service if free. when u pay for something, u should have everything, not jus pieces. When its free u get what u get. Psn has grown so mush for being such a free service its ridiculous. whats really sad for live, is that lets say im playing cod mw2, im having the exact same fun that ur having on live, but yet i havent paid a cent for my service..yet i still get cross game text chat, game invites, ingame xmb, ect. but even with out the features just playing the game online, im having the same amount of fun live people are having except i didnt pay for it. See what i did there?
and to ur 1 vs 100----------LMAO @ THAT
My understanding is the new Blu-ray drive they have is as loud as an X360 now. Supposedly the new PS3's won't be as quite as the fat models.TWO VERY INTERESTING THINGS HE SAID:
--that the blue ray was cheaper and it might suffer from similar problems to the other console
--keep an eye on the hard drives that are coming out. something is going to happen in a couple of months (different model/manufacturer?)

Leave it to fanboys to bash a game that allows you to win free stuff. And we're not paying just to play online, so don't fool yourself. Gold members get other perks, as well.[QUOTE="Tjeremiah1988"][QUOTE="MortalDecay"]Cross game chat? Welcome to 2005.MortalDecayXBL had cross game chat in 2005??? Also, why does it matter? Ps3 is now getting it, one little tackle XBL fanboys would lay on PSN. Uh, yeah....When the 360 was launched, Live had cross game chat. That's cool that the PS3 is getting it now, though. I mean, the PS3 gets everything the 360 has, eventually. Sony doesn't even need a R&D department. It seems they let MS come up with all the cool features, and then adds them to the PS3 later on down the road. They probably would have 90% of this stuff already if MS didn't lay a patent on it all. And I'm happy with my FREE service, personally.
1.States=Trophies,levels, games have there own state tracking in them. 2.Leaderboards, in most games more or less, but no its not a universal feature, not needed either, doe not help with gameplay at all. 3.Every single ps3 game uses one login name, and u can see your friends list at anytime during any game. so is that what u pay for...thats what u want to brag about?....wow okLet me know when PSN gets stats with attachments, trueskill, leaderboards, unified login and friends list, global muting/blocking and more.

Sony should have implemented Cross game chat/invite ages ago. It's such a simple feature, I don't know why they haven't done it yet. SpinoRaptor24naw since its free, they can take as long a they want, we arnt paying them anything, so im good with what we got. and when ms patents things up, it take a lil while to find loop holes u no.

u dont even have the feature yet. wat if it gets delayed, n if it does come through. thanks this will only make microsoft have another reason to put xbox live free.

Which is bad? I get you hate sony and the PS3 or hell just the PS3,but dam dude you act like MS is god of gaming and created everything to do with gaming. Please take the fanboy out of your brain or is it to late. So its a bad thing that sony will giveps3 ownersthe feature that you pay for free to them. Corporations have been copying from one another for years its called business.

We are very lucky we dont have to pay, VERY LUCKY I don't mind paying $30 (the price of my last 13 month card) a year. Live is great, and I don't mind paying for a service that's worth it. There are features on Live that cost them money, and I deem the worthy enough for my money. No one has the right to judge anyone on what they do with their money. $30 a year is nothing to me, and most gamers. I know, down the road, MS is going to add even more features that set Live apart from all other services. PSN is getting up there in features. I am happy for you guys. I do, one day, want to own a PS3, I just don't think it's worth it for me right now. I bash Sony a little more than I should because of their past. I see they're slowly getting better. Only time will tell.
I dont care if u only payed $5, its still paying
like i said u pay for it we dont. the features u get are almost worth being payed for, but when they end up on another system for free thats when things get thrown off. when i can play online for free, and u have 2 play thats a problem. i can see if u could play online for free, and then pay for premium features, but its not the case..

u pay 50 just to play online.........which is free on another system.......The more PSN (which is free and ad free) gets = to or > than xlive the sweeter the victory. PS3 already demolishes the 360 hardwarewise from bluray to WiFi to rechargable controllers to HDD size up to 500gb any brand 2.5 SATA to reliability. Now the PS3 more capable than any 360 system for $100 less than the Elite and the same as the Arcade.

I love it. Now PS fanboys now can say they almost have a feature that has been with live for awhile now all they gotta do with the cross chat feature is to actually give you mics that dont cost $50+ so i can understand what your saying. Hopefully when the voice chat is intergrated into PSN it will be more useful than say custom soundtracks on the PS3 cause that is so working in all your gamesVipa37custom tracks are up to the devs, ms has a patent on it(not really ur problem but hey) blu tooth headset cost 15 bucks, dont ever put 50+ like u cant get a free one with socom.

Yeah pretty soon 360 owners will say they have dedicated servers for their 1st party titles. Oh wait they cant say that because it isnt true and M$ will never do it because they are too busy getting paid for doing nothing. Well at least they can say that they pay for P2P gaming....

Why should Cross Chat be a "standard"? Who made that rule up?
And I ask once again, why do u imply it is morally wrong for Sony to copy MS? Ideas are free, ideas get shared, and ideas help productivity.
It's not that Sony is copying MS, it's that MS has put forth a feature that Sony fans are asking for, and Sony is attempting to deliver. Of course, you keep looking down on Sony for doing this. Would you rather they do nothing? It seems that if they didn't add Cross Game Chat, you'd likely boast about Live superiority, yet when Cross Game Chat is brought up, you still try to laugh at the fact that Sony is adding the feature in.
I for one am glad Cross Game Chat can come to the PSN since many people are asking for it. I can care less to use it, since I find it hard to talk to someone and stay alive as the Assassination target in Killzone at the same time.

Didn't the PSP have the XMB first? Avatars are nothing like Miis. Lips/Scene it definitely aren't rip offs of Singstar/Buzz.
Anyone can accuse companies of copying others. Microsoft haven't come up with every idea in the gaming industry.
