I don't need quotes. All I need is the numerous 360 friends that I have that can't make their systems last more than 6 months. Pretty pathetic! What about the falcon chip that has done very little to fix the problem. What about the newer chip, I forget the name, lems have been dragging about that will fix the problem. I believe it when I see it! All companies make empty promises, some more then others.

musicalmac

False, not all companies make empty promises, so that's no excuse to give Sony a pass for their overpromising and underachieving. The relevence your personal experience has is about as relevent as the RROD in this thread. None at all.

What is the relevance of all you lemmings ripping on Sony and Home? None!! It's funny how a lemming starts this thread and 80% of the people responding to this thread are rabid lemmings. You'd think you lems would have better things to do like playing your vastly superior console!

The ps3 is a epic dissappointment on every level. You have to be a fanboy not to see this. Delay after delay, games that do come out are not as good as hyped. If I only owned a ps3 I would sell itm and buy a 360. Luckly I have both, if my ps3 didnt have a bluray player it would have been sold alog tim ago. Mgs4 is the only game that looks good in 08, if it tanks the ps3 is gone. Even then its hardly worth keeping for 1 game.

I hear all these people saying HOME is getting scaled down. But where in the article does it actually say HOME is getting scaled down?? To all you people saying HOME is getting scaled down: proof or you're just talking out of your arse.

You don't have to be a fanboy to see that this is another example of overpromising and underachieving from Sony. I appreciate how much they're trying to do, but they need to get their ducks in a row before opening their mouths. Sound advice for all, really.

I bet Sony is regretting the Home decision since obviously it was meant to be a free to consumer to play and is becoming a black hole of development time (i.e. costing the company a lot more then they planned).

oh come on, sony is THE WORST for announcing to early and overpromising things, even hardcore cows have to admit it, they consatanly put their foot in their mouth by announcing things to early for telling the users there will be features they will never be able to achive, give it up

HOME is going to be quite an achievement once it hits the PS3 this fall. Never had something this immersive or this massive had ever taken place on consoles. We've seen many MMORPGS (not that I'm calling HOME an MMORPG) on the PCs but never been on nor succeeded on consoles. HOME will be the first to come for the future generations of console gaming. HOME is going to be a stepping stone for a whole new genre for the consolites to play.

Oh, you mean non-gaming features? You mean they promise you non-gaming features, and now you so care about them now that it won't be availble at launch. Keep in mind the non-gaming features cana rrive a later time...I'm going to ask you again, What did Sony promise you as a consumer that they didn't deliver to you for Home? If you're being honest with yourself the answer is easy.

I just praised Sony for their ambitious nature. :| If you don't want to get modded, don't break the ToU. It's not my fault you were moderated- it's yours.

Unfortunately for you, Mac being biased is not true. Knowing Mr. Musicalmac we're like Mac and Cheese :p But anyways, back to the topic at hand, only a Sony rep had said that it was overly ambitious at first but whats wrong with a developer saying, "Ok we may had gone too ahead of ourselves," and yet you treat them like dee-dee-dees.

It's only someone pointing out some flaws that they had made in the past while on the drawing board for HOME. Is it wrong for a losing QB of the Super Bowl say, "We screwed up."

Even if I was a cow I would be able to admit to myself that HOME sounds like a big waste of time. Whenever I want to play games online the last thing I want to do is spend extra time getting into a lobby.

I dont think thats what the original post was about, Sony was saying that they spent to much time trying to please non-gamers and companies like Nike, and Adidas, instead of getting the features in that the gamers wanted.

from original post "In that sense we were deserting gamers"
