Sakurai really did Nickelodeon All-Stars dirty when he decided to announce (and probably release) the final DLC character for Smash on the same day of Nickelodeon's release.

Nickelodeon will be probably biting their fingers hoping it's something lame like another Fire Emblem character, and not like Sora or Master Chief or anything like that, because an internet-breaking final DLC for Smash could define the success of Nickelodeon All-Stars.

I was actually going to make a thread about this but didn't have time.

I follow hungry box on YouTube and he's been putting out alot of content on nick all stars. I hadn't been following the game but was shocked at how good it looks. It looks even faster than smash. The meta in that game looks impressive maybe even better than smash.

Its the first brawler in this style to actually show it could compete with smash and I think Ninty has taken notice. Announcing they will announce the Final DLC character the day nick all stars releases is dirty asf lol

I think it's a decent cast... I just don't get the Twitter/ResetEra outrage over the casting.

Nicktoons can't compete with Smash until it's actually out. All your claims that Nicktoons does anything better than Smash at all, is a null point until the game actually comes out and people actually get a feel for the meta game.

There are some kiddos hellbent on "dethroning" Smash for the sake of being bitter for some odd reason, and envy towards the success of Smash in the first place.

Nicktoons is not about the dethrone the now best-selling fighting game of all-time. LOL I think Nicktoons fans thinking it will dethrone Smash in any capacity, are completely naive towards what they're up against.

What I do see: a Smash clone getting respectable attention beyond ridicule. That's really what is going on. Nicktoons otherwise won't dethrone Smash, that's just crazy talk that I hear weird kids making.

The final DLC on the day Nicktoons releases might be less of a war call and more of a passing the baton over to Nicktoons. Remember: Sakurai wants his vacation, not to start a war with another Smash clone. I think he sees Nicktoons as a convenient passing moment for him, for people's attention will now pivot to cartoon crossover events and Sakurai can make his exit and fewer people will get fussy over it because now their attention is towards a new IP.

@sargentd: Truth is: if people really feel threatened over the last DLC character of Smash over a new Platform brawler only getting started: it goes to show how insignificant Nicktoons will really be.

Nicktoons should have nothing to worry about over a juggernaut franchise retiring on the same day. If Nicktoons fans really feel threatened over the last bit of Smash DLC, then those Nicktoons fans need to quit putting their foots in their mouths with naive statements like "Smash Bros. Suxxxx lolol Nicktoons dethrone crappy video game crossover."

Fact is: Nickelodeon fans called for a bitter war on Smash Bros., and Sakurai is just dropping the nuke on his way out the door, to satisfy those Nickelodeon fans bent on war. Nickelodeon fans are too naive and envious to understand that Sakurai is way more cunning and savage than than they understand. Sakurai gave the ultimate mic-drop, and I hope Nickelodeon fans are happy, for this is the war they wanted. Any Smash clone that tries to dethrone Smash usually embarrasses itself in the end.

@jaydan: I have not heard anyone say Nickelodeon is going to dethrone smash, I think most people understand it's not ever going to get that big. Smash is an absolute juggernaut of a franchise.

But yeah nick all stars looks like the best smash clone to date mechanics and gameplay wise. It looks very good. It took pretty much everything that works in smash.

Let's be clear, the people paying attention to nick all stars are not nick toon fans.. they are mostly fans of smash paying attention. I at first scoffed at the nick game and I'm a big fan of smash. But from what they have shown I'm very impressed with how much thought they have put into the mechanics.

I love smash but I'm interested in the nick all stars, it looks clean and like a proper smash clone. The fact that this game will be multiplatform and not ninty exclusive also sets it up to have some legs.

Its not going to dethrone smash but Nintendo is definitely playing close attention to it and them announcing they will announce final DLC on its launch date is not a coincidence. They definitely did that shit on purpose.

When I say "compete" I mean on mechanics, it looks like a proper clone. I'm not talking sales or numbers here.

@mesome713: if we are talking cartoons yeah I agree, they haven't made decent stuff in a long time. But the game looks good, they have been putting out all the characters move sets out and it looks clean. Check out HungryBox's channel on YouTube he's been following it and has alot of good videos on it. Legit it's looking like a solid smash clone. Much better than that shitty game playstation tried to put out there. Their smash clone was bad

I believe part of it is because "Hollywood celebs" doing VA rather than professional VA's (even though Martinet is still involved). Though Chris Pratt and Jack Black have shown to be talented in voice work

Even Liam O'Brien (Critical Role, Darksiders, Fallout, Naruto) had a pretty calm response to the Twitter outrage.

Honestly, they didn't even buy the game when it was on the PS3 and Xbox 360. The issue with them is that they hate that they lost something, even if they never cared for it to begin with.

"Switch collecting dust" "Nintendo has no games" "Long drought for the Switch" It's going to be the same thing no matter what with nitpicking. I'll never forget how literally a month after Monster Hunter Rise released, people on here claimed the Switch had no games. You can't make that up.

luxuryheart in denial yet again. This is not a long drought for the switch. This is the LONGEST drought for the Switch and we have never seen anything like it on the WiiU prior to it. Its scary how abandoned the Switch felt in 2021 (and 2020 as well, lets not forget that). Good thing you have those 25 years old N64 games incoming. Don't forget to buy that $50 N64 controller for better immersion.

Some times i am worried about the sanity of our SW sheep. Give em an addtional six months of nothing, and i have no idea what will happen to them, its a completely uncharted teritory at that point. Don't give up! Switch 2 is coming in 2023.

And they can't even come up with anything fresh or relevant. Just post bullshit because that's the only thing in their heads.
