Besides the existance of piracy on consoles, this steam os is supposedly an os that will bring more ease of use for pc gaming in the living room not to mention that it will  probably have steam drm integrated in it as well, if someone is going to or is capable of altering files, hack, crack or whatever else he might as well use windows.

Calling it something else makes as much sense as trying to name something else than hermits to someone that has a brand PC,either alienware or something else,it´s a factor form PC,plays the exact same copies of games you can already play now if you already own them and with a PC OS that will also be available(and used primarily) on,guess what...lap and desktop PC´s.
It´s all about what the system can do,and if it quacks like a duck it´s certainly not a cat.

If this shit even makes sense to some people then instead of going for this pointless argument might as well start thinking of new names for PSV and 3DS supporters,because you know,those are actually completely different systems with completely different libraries and a completely different basic functionality and usability and the only reason people call them cows and sheep as well is simply because of the brand they have in association with the home consoles of the same companies.

Makes a lot more sense than this one lol.

Not really no considering how many people jumped from PS2 to 360 and from 360 to PS4 now. 

Although you're right, most of those names don't really hold much today considering the milkage lems had this gen with Live. Although cows did buy a $600 system with barely any game on it in the beginning. 

And sheeps apparently gave up on Nintendo this gen with WiiU.

I like Steamers personally.
