lets face facts, Wii is the worst console ever created. Why?
most people believe better specs just means better graphics, thats totally wrong.
compare Resident Evil N64 to Resident Evil 4 Gamecube, it was not just better graphics RE4 had compared to RE N64 but better gameplay not because of the controller but because of specs, RE 4 has better gameplay. better enviroment, better AI, better guns, better looking enemies, better everything.
same applies to Metriod, compare Metriod Gamecube to past Metriod games, you will see that Metriod Gamecube is a better game, why, because of specs and not a controller. but now look at Metriod Wii, its the same as the Gamecube's, just now you get to use the wiimote and do some gimmicky moves.
even in an interview with Miyamoto, he said when first created Mario, he wanted Mario to ride on Yoshi but the NES could not do it because of specs but he could later do it on SNES because SNES had better specs.
as for Wii, its just getting last gen games, the only difference is that last gen games are now played(wiimote) differently. RE N64 to RE 4 was revolutionary, you are never going to see a revolution like that from Gamecube to Wii. whats the difference between Zelda: TP on Gamecube and Zelda: TP on Wii? nothing, just wiimote gimmicky gameplay.
compare GTA on PS1 and GTA on PS2. GTA III on PS2 is considered as a revolution in the games industry, it changed and brought a whole new gameplay and this was possible because of specs.
specs > gimmick controller, therefore PS3/360 > Wii. Wii is an insult, it is insulting our intelligence, you think you are playing a next-gen game, but you are playing the same game you played last gen. but this time with a wiimote thats all.
Problem is, this past gen, not many games really "change" like going from say, SNES to N64, or even N64 to GC. Sure we have HD resolutions, but overall, most of these games are at the core, the same games from last gen. There are a few exceptions obviously, but pretty much 90% at least are just ports with better resolutions. At least the wii is trying something new. Sure its not everyone's cup of tea, but really if you want a game where you want mario to ride on yoshi, yuo can do it, you dont need HD graphics and specs. Would it be nice? yes, but some of us just can't afford something so extravagent either. Its a very complex road when comparing each path that these comapnies took. If you like PS3/360, good for you, you are going to be very happy, but don't make fun of something other people may like.
Wii is GREAT. I used to bash t, but now I know why it is so popular. I got one, and it is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And, well, the ps3...MGS4 wasn't on the 2007 release schedule for konami and Square Enix confirmed FF13 for 2008. So, no need to get a Blue Ray Player, since I hardly play on HD's. Not worth the money to me for a good time.

yet alot of the games coming out for the 360/ps3 are considered multi-platfrom games . If a game comes out for the wii it will not play the same as the 360/ps3 i WOULD KNOW SINCE I AM A MANITCORE. tHE GAMES ARE LACKING FOR THE 360/PS3 AS OF RIGHT NOW I HAVE TO WAIT till the end of this freakin year to enjoy new games for both consoles yet the wii can crank out games faster since its not that difficult to develop for . In the end games will sell the system sorry to say but the wii will come out on top if its games get the players interested enough . And you can't go anywhere where the developers keep raving about how the are excited about developing for the wii . maybe because of the development is easier or more motion sensing either way the wii is outsellingboth the 360/ps3 and in time the wii will hold its own even when the new upgraded version comes out .

I dont believe in sales, yes good products do sell. but I'm into quality. Ninja Gaiden and 50 cent proves that sales is not everything. even though I'm a Sony fan, I dont hardly, if ever talk about PS2 sales.

Your opinion is basically its not graphics its innovation that makes a good console. So since the PS3 and XBox360 are just basically the same games with prettier graphics (so far anyway), and the Wii is innovating... would the correct term be self owned?

Oh yeah adding a kick and a german suplex really wouldve put a tax on the old RE engines... And for N64 REs they could have definetly moved the camera if they really wanted to.

because of specs, those were possible. I've gotta tell you, the Resident Evil games on the GC besides RE4 played very similarly to the ones on the previous generation. I'm pretty sure that RE4's style could have been done on the GC. Why wouldn't it be able to? It would have looked like GoldenEye, but it's concept probablly would have been possible. It's new gamestyle is more attributable to designer innovation than technical specifications.

You contradict yourself. You state that specs allow for better gameplay through innovation. Then where are all the new genres? Haven't we been seeing the some old genres with prettier graphics. You've self owned yourself by stating that the wii is not innovative because of it's specs. Developers have to go the extra mile to create something good on the wii. They just can't port games. Look at Madden. It got the best rating on the wii because it used the controller innovatively. Your whole "specs derive innovation" theroy sounds good in your mind, but in practicality, it dosen't work. Developers have to be innovative to make a game on the wii. They can be lazy on the 360/PS3, and make the same old games with better graphics.

Oh good! You have academic experience in this manner. Please educate me on why RE4's style couldn't have been implemented on a weaker system. Don't bother dumbing it down for me, I'm a developer myself so I'll understand most of the techno-jargon you throw at me.
