[QUOTE="Jandurin"]In fact, how about this: I've had more fun with a few hours of Wario Ware. Shoot, I've had more fun with Wii sports than I did with Gears of War.swade
after this comment about Gears of War I will no longer listen to you go play in your baby crib...
Dude, I'm a big shooter fan but Gears is a little overrated, there are plenty more games out there more fun than Gears. Gears is only an appetizer for Halo 3.I wouldn't call the Wii the worst console, ever.
But I will accuse Nintendo of using the most unethical marketing strategy, ever.
Any objective look at the Wii yields a console devoid of functionality and an entire generation behind the processing power of other machines currently on the market. I like the Wiimote much more than analog controllers, but a controller should never be the focal point of a console.Â

Reduced to baby status by fanboy flavor of the month. I never said either one were better games, I merely stated which I had more fun with. Fun can be influenced by more than just the game. Such as who you're playing with, who is willing to play them, what state you're in, etc. etc. It's cool, I already owned him for you.:wink:Well... it has never been the focal point of a console - not in terms of advertising strategy - that's accurate. But SHOULD never? That sound awfully conservative and close-minded to me. Controllers have been as important to the history of videogame development as graphical improvement. I think with the Wii they are doing precisely the right thing putting the focus on the controller. Why shouldn't they? What ought they do instead?I wouldn't call the Wii the worst console, ever.

Conservative? It's conservative to believe that each console should only use one type of controller. I'm a supporter of USB 2.0 control devices (every console could be designed to accept a USB control device). Developers could best select (or chose multible) forms of control for the paticular game they're working on.Â
We're well beyond the time when a console literally had to have a distinct form of input. Consumers should have more options. What should console developers do?
Provide the most powerful peice of hardware, with the most features and functionality, at the lowest cost possible. Franchise tags and controllers should not sell a console. We should be able to judge a console by the ratio between hardware price and preformance.Â

Dude, I'm a big shooter fan but Gears is a little overrated, there are plenty more games out there more fun than Gears. Gears is only an appetizer for Halo 3.I dont think gears is that amazing but it's hell of alot better than wii sports... wii sports is fun when you play it with friends but I really dont consider it in the class of an actual game I see it as one of those little kiddy toy devices that you can only play one game with. I own a wii and it is definetly overrated.
lets face facts, Wii is the worst console ever created. Why?well... at least they are mirrored (Zelda TP) I have the Gamecube Version and it looks good if not better than the Wii's offering
most people believe better specs just means better graphics, thats totally wrong.
compare Resident Evil N64 to Resident Evil 4 Gamecube, it was not just better graphics RE4 had compared to RE N64 but better gameplay not because of the controller but because of specs, RE 4 has better gameplay. better enviroment, better AI, better guns, better looking enemies, better everything.
same applies to Metriod, compare Metriod Gamecube to past Metriod games, you will see that Metriod Gamecube is a better game, why, because of specs and not a controller. but now look at Metriod Wii, its the same as the Gamecube's, just now you get to use the wiimote and do some gimmicky moves.
even in an interview with Miyamoto, he said when first created Mario, he wanted Mario to ride on Yoshi but the NES could not do it because of specs but he could later do it on SNES because SNES had better specs.
as for Wii, its just getting last gen games, the only difference is that last gen games are now played(wiimote) differently. RE N64 to RE 4 was revolutionary, you are never going to see a revolution like that from Gamecube to Wii. whats the difference between Zelda: TP on Gamecube and Zelda: TP on Wii? nothing, just wiimote gimmicky gameplay.
compare GTA on PS1 and GTA on PS2. GTA III on PS2 is considered as a revolution in the games industry, it changed and brought a whole new gameplay and this was possible because of specs.
specs > gimmick controller, therefore PS3/360 > Wii. Wii is an insult, it is insulting our intelligence, you think you are playing a next-gen game, but you are playing the same game you played last gen. but this time with a wiimote thats all.
Thanks for reading.

[QUOTE="Colt45fool"]I'm so tired of people crying gimmick, everytime Nintendo does something different.coreygamesAnd that's like, what, every generation?I think he means the DS and the Wii have been calle gimmicks. Yeah, it bugs me when ppl use that weak statement as well when ppl are easting up DS and the Wii. It's hard to find a DS in alot of places and forget trying to find a Wii anywhere at the moment.
[QUOTE="Jandurin"][QUOTE="swade"]I actually own a wii... Tell me exactly what good game is on it except for Zelda.VC games. Trauma Center. Wario Ware. Excite Truck and DBZ (both for some people).swade
ARE YOU SERIOUS???..... Please... Wario Ware isnt a real game..... Excite Truck was flop. Dont know what Trauma center is .... Stop kidding yourself none of those games I think got that good of rating Excite Truck got like a 4 or a 5/10
ARE YOU SERIOUS???.....Please...Don't insult Wario WAre unless you want to be viewed as a fool. Excite truck. Okay. Trauma Center... Awesome. DBZ? Don't know. Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz is also really good.lets face facts, Wii is the worst console ever created. Why?

They said the same thing about the DS. All it was when the DS first launched was "The DS sucks! It's a gimmick!" But the games got better, and people got smarter. The DS sold millions, while the PSP (which stuck to tradition) went down. The same thing will happen with the Wii. It will stumble at first, then it will really take off. It will make the 360 look stupid and the PS3 look even more stupid than it already is. It will show that graphics and power (which I think you mean to say instead of 'specs' ;)) don't matter, even in a home console. It's about the games and fun. Could great games like Wii Sports be done on any other console? What about all the fun people are having with Miis? The Wii can also surf the web and play flash. It's opening up tons of possibilities. Close-minded people need not apply.
Let's get back to the DS one last time. Is the DS more powerful than the PSP? No, but I doubt the PSP has anything that is remotely close to New Super Mario Brothers in fun factor.

Well, loves us and our money.
When you get down to it, all any of the companies really care about is making money [QUOTE="xxThyLordxx"]take look at the DS and GBA. DS is a huge improvement over GBA in terms of specs. its as good as comparing SNES(GBA) to N64(DS). because of DS specs, games like Super Mario 64 was possible. compare Mario Kart GBA to Mario Kart DS, the difference is huge not in terms graphics but in terms of gameplay. Mario Kart DS does not make that much use of the touch screen but it has better gameplay than that of GBA's.show me a 360/PS3 game that has gameplay that could not be done on the Wii - not that the graphics are better, but that the gameplay itself wouldn't be as good on the Wii. I can only think of Dead Rising (sheer number of things on screen at once, may not be doable on the Wii), but then I'd still rather play "Zombies Ate My Neighbors!"
improvings the specs of DS was good and adding touch screen made it even better. but cant be said for Wii, specs were not improved, they just added the Wiimote, thats all.
Metrovania
you also forgot about Resistance:FOM, considering the nimber of chimeras on screen
lets make something official...if the Wii gets a third party game that looks better than Ninja Gaiden Black then the Wii has beter graphics then the Xboxpoopinloop32
I'll take a fun gimmick over a lame super computer any day. Private_Vegas
to venture: wrong.
Xbox Specs:
CPU:733 MHz chip crafted by Intel
Graphics Processor:250MHz custom chip named XGPU, developed by Microsoft and nVIDIA
Wii Specs:
CPU: IBM Broadway 729MHz
Graphics Processor: ATI Hollywood 243MHz
you do the maths.

Refer to sig.
Those leaps that you talk about seem small compared to the leap that I felt the first time I played Wii Sports. Actually swinging the wii-mote around to simulate a bat swing or a swing of a tennis racket was very cool indeed. Zerostatic0
why did you actually go and revive such an old topic?
so thats y wii is outselling ps3 3-1
explains alot
what do u suggest is the next step 5d games, whats the 5th d, (time is the 4th for all u that dont know so its already there)
da-nile is not just a river in egypt, accept the fact the wii is better than ps3

Sales don't make a console better, wake up.
Sheep are all in denial. Why?
Wii has killed hardcore gaming. All the hardcore games ala zelda, mario, metriod, all use this god damn remote that kills the "hardcoreness" of gaming. This is exactly why you will never see sucessors like Ninja Gaiden or Devil may cry or anything remotely as good as these titles in that aspect on a wii. Soul Calibur Legends proves this, and dont give me this rubbish taht its the devs fault, because it aint. Alot of games have suffered on Wii, and is all due to the controller. Its funny to see everyones post saying "im speechless" or "you dont know what you on about" because simply you cant prove the thread creator wrong. Sales are the only thing Wii fans looks up to, but guess what, Barbie also sells like hotcakes to, and we all know what we think of Barbie.
Ninty is not looking after its hardcore fan base, and Wii Fit proves it. If you wanna lose weight, join a gym, dont buy a wireless balance board that supposidly will get you fit. We all know Cardio is the best form of excersise.
End of topic, Sheep.
this god damn remote that kills the "hardcoreness" of gaming.RazMaTaz-1LMAO, "hardcoreness," LOL Where do you get this stuff?
Ninty is not looking after its hardcore fan base, and Wii Fit proves it. IRazMaTaz-1Sure, that's why Nintendo released a Zelda game, a Metroid Game, and a Mario platformer in less than 1 year of the Wii being released. Argueably it's 3 biggest franchises among hardcore gamers all represented within a year. Not to mention that they also released Super Paper Mario which is a hit among hardcore gamers and even made many references to hardcore gamers in the game as well as Fire Emblem and Battalion Wars, two series that never get big sales but have have diehard fanbases. Oh, and Smash Brothers Brothers Brawl is right around the corner. People let the success of Wii Fit and Wii Sports go to their heads and they subsequently ignore the fact that besides being incrediably successful in the casual market Nintendo has released more of the games that diehard Nintendo fans want then they have ever done in such a short span of time.
