[QUOTE="Metrovania"][QUOTE="Boba_Fett_3710"][QUOTE="locopatho"]Ya know what? I love my Wii. It f*cking rocks. I mean hacking down orcs from horseback in Zelda is so sweet it makes me wanna cry. I dont care what the graphics look like on PS3 youll never be able to experience that sweet feeling of hacking your sword remote through a monsters soft flesh. Is that not the greatest innovation since game characters first took up swords to battle evil?xxThyLordxxNow that's a real gamer! Graphics are for sissies that suck at playing games. Agreed!! They may add to a game, but in the end, it's level-designs, characters and good controls that make the game.
Come back with a decent reply next time.

[QUOTE="Bread_or_Decide"][QUOTE="PelekotansDream"][QUOTE="xxThyLordxx"][QUOTE="PelekotansDream"]Do you know what Nintendo has done for the gaming industry? It brought it back onto its feet with the NES and now it has offered us an entire new way to play games. If you wanna be a graphic whore and wanna play games the same way forever then thats your problem.
Open minded gamers will get a better experience by trying out all consoles. They will, at the end of the day, have a much more fun and better experience than you can ever have.
xxThyLordxx
Playing games in a new way isn't innovation all on its own. Hell Virtua Boy was a new way to play games...so was the power glove...and alot of other useless gaming peripherals. Eye Toy was a new way to play games and it was pretty limitted as to the type of games that it could play. Moving my wrist to do moves in Mortal Kombat isn't exactly changing gaming as we know it. Niether is drawing shapes to do a 360 flip in SSX. So hold back on your gaming righteousness.
lol. agreed.
Bread, what the Wii offers is something new. Okay, you can't change that. It is new and different from average controllers. If you think it is not different from average controllers and plays the same then...well I don't even need to go there.
So hold your post back and understand what I am trying to say.

Wow the Wii has brainwashed some of you people...not saying its badWhat we're saying, is that you people put far too much emphasis on specs and graphics. You think we're brainwashed into thinking innovation and gameplay don't need sky-high specs? We think you've been brainwashed by SONY/M$ into thinking that gameplay can't improve unless graphics and specs increase to the point where the consoles become the hobby of only a few people.
but graphics are for sissies? Specs are for geeks? Do you listen to yourrselves when you typepoopinloop32

Oh and they new I suppose. Never before done have they, nope, new technology it must be. I been playing with them since the Mega Drive but guess what? Apparently that ain't old technology. *sarcasm*I am. I have nothing against old controllers but like I said before. The Wii is trying to be different with its remote from other traditional controllers. And Nintendo are putting a lot of thought into this. Look at the DS, how much does that sell and some games still only use buttons but it sells because it is different in how it plays games.Come back with a decent reply next time.

My opinion - Wii us uber garbage, there has never been a worst choice for a console from the start of gaming itselftricyclon123

Apparently that ain't old technology. *sarcasm*I have no idea what you're saying! :S you're grammar hurts me... that was just a string of words. I can understand your questions at the end, so I will respond: I play arcade fighters with an arcade pad, and FPSs are better with a mouse and keyboard. Some games are better with certain input devices. I have no problem with playing SSBB online with a classic controller. Why add new controls if it won't improve the game? Fire Emblem, however, is being made in an unforgivably lazy team: there is no excuse for not being Wii-mote implementation.Come back with a decent reply next time.

Well, the Wii has opened up a new door for RTS games to be playable in a console. You can't do that on other consoles with just a regular gamepad.

To the raving graphics ***** of a TC, most of the early games weren't even done on Hollywood dev kits, they were done on GC dev kits. We have no clue what the technological ceiling is on the Wii.Spartan070

Yeah, it is, I feel that it will be the first bad FE game in a long time. Hopefully the next installment will include the wiimote point feature.
Also another genre that was PC exclusive, Point and Click games. Maybe Lucas Arts may make a Monkey Island game for the Wii???
[QUOTE="venture00"][QUOTE="xxThyLordxx"][QUOTE="Rip870"][QUOTE="Pangster007"]omg, i can't believe i actually bothered to post. It's like talking to a brick wall. I guess i was too hopeful. I've given all the reasons why you are wrong and yet you haven't given any valid counter-argument. And any thing you came up with, i've given an answer. You haven't acknowledged my first post, the points about 2D and 3D. As for your questions about can mario kart ds run on the gba. Of course it can't, is this what you call fanboy logic? the game can't run on the gba, but the core gameplay elements were still intact. But, this is not the major point we were discussing. As i've pointed out in my 1st post, the huge changes in gameplay were mostly done in the transition between 2D and 3D. This was when specs mattered the most. At this point in time, we have a jump from 3D to 4D? And i'll repeat the point i made in that first post, which you conveniently ignored, what fundamental gameplay can be brought forward now that we have high resolutions, better textures, prettier explosions etc? Unless you can address every point i've made since my first point, i won't bother posting in here anymore as it honestly is like talking to a brick wall.Rip870
Actually its you sheep that are like a wall. Why is it so hard for you to understand that more power can create new
ways to play games. Take FF7 do you people think that game could be that good on the snes. Now i love the FF games on the SNES but anyone that say that the power of the PS1 didn't bring something new to the table must be blind.
So i guess you don't think making mario64 3d didn't meant anything for the gameplay
3D games had been done before, but since they only used D-pads for control, they weren't very good, or weren't particularly new in terms of gameplay. The N64 controller allowed Mario 64 to exist. Also, that was a step up from 2D to 3D - the jump from last gen to this gen is incomparable to that in terms of graphical leaps. The Wii is outselling the PS3 3:1 because the Wii is a third of a PS3. In order to get the same power, one must tie three Wii's together!:| Without Nintendo, there wouldn't be a Sony Playstation!!!

[QUOTE="X360PS3AMD05"]It's garbage, yet it may very well win this generation. :lol:Lord_Mango_Jr
I don't think people understand Nintendo very well, so let me explain. That's a very fair way of looking at it. The Wii is what devs have wanted for ages. The head of Oddworld Inhabitants said, in an interview for EDGE magazine, that most devs were tired of the increasing power of the consoles. He said that most devs would prefer to be allowed a few more years on a gen before moving on and relearning everything. The Wii means that devs who would otherwise have not been able to make a game for a major console, now can!
If Nintendo went on the usual "upgrade the specs" way, what do you think would have happened? They would probably have failed, and they knew it would happen to them if they didn't try something different. So they chose the
Wii remote over power. So far, it looks as though they made the right decision for themselves. Sales are up, developers are intrigued, and Nintendo is finaly considered competiton. Their console is also the cheapest, which gives them a benefit in sales. If you don't like it, don't buy it.
Sure, the Wii remote is cool and all, but do you know what I like about the console? Since it is using cheaper technology, indie companies can show their brilliance on consoles. Two good examples are Nibris (try looking up Sadness), and Crossbeam Studios Entertainment (try looking up Orb).

My favorite game of all time... Ogre Battle 64. Let's see, the N64 was how weak compared to my GC and Wii, yet I still prefer ogre battle over anything I've played on those. Also, what about goldeneye, or Super Metroid. Those were all incredibly popular games, yet they were on relatively weak systems.
