Shadow Complex review - 8.5 (GS)

I'm going through the challenge rooms now. People who like to get their asses handed to them with really tough challenges like those in Bioinc commando rearmed will love this. I've pretty much hit my limit with "Missle Cavity" in challenge pack 3.

On to the real thing now.

As a long-time fan of the old Metroid games, this game is simply amazing. This summer is really showing the massive potential that arcade games can have.

CC is more than a simple tower defense its leaps and bounds ahead of PJM and Savage Moon. You really should try it. Far more RTS elements like resource gathering and being able to actually attack the other persons base. Mulitple units and different attack powers.

As for shatter, its good but short worth the 8 bucks and the soundtrack is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ****ing awesome I love it, Its 10 to DL and almost a better buy then the game.

lol 'official hype', all yall crazy. anyway, it is a lot better than comet crash, which is an exception game as well. splosion man is better than either by a pretty wide margin.

I think I'll give the demo a try.

Man I can't believe this is a XBLA game and not retail. This game is amazing like all these reviews have been saying.

I don't want to spoil anything but did anyone else laugh when you saw what the guard did to Claire on the monitor screen before you got the pistol?

if every other gaming site on the web gave shadow complex a 9 or above, and gamespot gave it a little less its considered a minor flop and not AAA? gamespot is the only site that i know of that gave the game below a 9. so many sites, gave it 5/5, 100, metacritic i think gave it 90, ign with a 9.4. honestly, gamespot really let me down with this review, but idc the game is amazing. regardless of what the score that they gave them says. 8.5, who are they kidding?

I knew this wouldnt score AAA. Still though, awesome game.

really? ive only noticed about 2-3 threads in the past couple of days. 1 was about ign score, the other 2 were about several scores from different websites.

No not at all, it wasn't as hyped as SC and had little to no exposure but its often been brought up when talking about PSN vs XBLA especially this year as its the only AAA DL title on any of the systems.

played about an hour, very impressed. great sound, looks nice and plays spot on.

as i expected i remember seeing threads hyping it AAA, so don't try to deny it lemmings it's a bit of a flop then, SW-wise, but still looks to be a decent game absolutely not a metroid killer though, as some fanboys were hoping .. as if that was ever gonna happenakif22

Did you at least play the game? theres allways ppl hyping games AAA but the oficial hype was AA this time. The funny thing is that i myself hyped this game AAA, im about 2 hours into it and it has been even better than i expected! Easly one of my favourite games this gen ;)

another great XBLA game for the 360. i wishi could get it

Alright. I put a few hours into it and it's pretty safe to say that this game kicks all kinds of ass.

The sound is fantastic, the controls have a nice old school feel to it, it seems so far that the game is somewhat balanced properly and the there is a difficulty level for everyone. Along with the game, the proving grounds offers some nice challenges. All in all, 15 dollars well spent.

Shadow Complex is a great game. I don't care what any score says. If cows want to trash the game based on a review score, rather than actually playing it, let them embarrass themselves. If they're bashing it because they can't play it....Well....Bitterness is a terrible thing.MortalDecay
