Shane Kim Says Xbox 360 Will Last 7 Years

What we've been able to see with the vast majority of titles on Xbox 360, is the range of experiences that haven't been restricted with the lack of a hard drive and a larger capacity disc.

Thank god! Now all of the rumors about a Xbox '720' can die! And MS will still get a head start on the PS4 next go around, let's hope they fix the issues that plague the 360.

I finished Heavenly Sword before I even took out the first disc of Lost Odyssey. :(

What surprised me more is the fact that this standard issue damage control took a whole five minutes to post, surely you all have these RROD etc replies on macro's or something...

Yes, however im sure well see a new 360 in a year or two. Theyll jsut keep supporting 360 while theres a new console on the Market, like SONY did with PS2 this gen. black_awpN1

you've beaten HS with no worries at all, while you're still hoping your 360 won't die on you before you even make it to disc 4 in LO...

dont take me the wrong way man, i like all consoles and games. i just dont like consoles breaking on me and throughtout my gaming history, i've never had a system that didn't even had more than 5% failure rate ...including a modded PS2 that i even soldered myself just to play import games (..omg)

to prove each consoles' credibility, why not let the consoles speak for themselves rather than people speaking for them..

RROD is still out there even if yours doesn't get one. i'd be happy if MS would come out one day and post that 360 now has a 0.02% failure rate..

HECK, i'd even more than happy if the failure rate goes down to 10% but as of now RROD are still flashing out there; morning, day, and night...

It's not 33%, but it's still too high.

well life expectancy for an Xbox360 is a year at max, then it dies (RROD), gets revived just to die in a short time and so on !!!!

Now seriously, i think the 360 can have a 7 year lifespan, but that could mean that support will be for 7 year not that next year when 360 is in last place with the smallest install base lagging behind, MS wont announce their next console... but it would be already a step forward for MS (MilkingSoft) that at least even if they release a new console, support would be kept for the xbox360... that would be a nice gesture towards their fans...

There's no gaurantee whatsoever that the PS3 will continue to outsell the 360. Also, if the consoles continued within striking distance of eachother, the PS3 will have a hard time catching up.

The PS3 would probably pass it up if there's a circumstance in which the 360 is no longer a viable console and the PS3 is.
