Sheep --- Are you fully prepared for Brawl NOT to have online play?

As an SSBB fan I'm well prepared for it not to feature it.

No, not because it's Nintendo even though I utter that now and then (:P), but because for SSB to be online in any form requires it to be perfect. Nearly every game experiences latency and lag of some amount. To go through correcting it through coding is extremely difficult especially for a game of SSB's standards.

Let's hope I'm wrong on this.

There would be NO EXCUSE if Nintendo doesn't include Online play in Brawl, absolutely no excuse, and sheep who would defend them are pathetic IMO...

yes they are! We didn't know much at ALL about Metroid Prime 3 until 2 weeks before the release. Zelda TP? We didn't get real information on it until they held a publishing event 2.5 weeks before that released and we got a final Preview of the title.

Smash Bros. Brawl has an entire web-site dedicated to it and it is saving it's big announcements for later. Brawl will have some sort of online mode.

Yes, I see the logo now. I HOPE it's true. Maybe I'm being highly negative, but until I see a Gamespot news story or Rumor Mill confirm this to actually be true, I'm not going to hold my breath. Gamestop has screwed up many times before. They constantly post wrong release dates knowing full well they are wrong. Until I see other news confirming online play, I am not about to trust Gamestop...

I have never seen Gamestop screw up on a release date. They leak news before it is announced constantly.

Why in the world did Reggie-Fils Aime not announce online play for Brawl but announced it for Mario Kart 08 instead? What is the logic in that? If Brawl has online, then why didn't he say a word?

Why not take the word of the games creator over ignorant message board rumours? Sakurai has stated numerous times the game will feature online play, hes even talked about what he wanted to feature and focus on. Sakurai controls SSBB completely, nothing happens with that game without him giving it the ok and not even a handful of info has come out about the game outside of Smashbros.com.

Come on now. I will be very shocked if Brawl has online play? Why? Nintendo has been known to keep secrets...but usually not about game development. Consoles? Sure. But not games. We knew Twilight Princess was coming since 2004. Reggie Fils-Aime said that Mario Kart 08 will have online. nintendo hasn't really given me any indication of whether or not SSBB will have online or not...and thats scary

i'd think if it was for sure going to have online, nintendo would be boasting about it at their e3 2007 press conference

also the developer of SSBB has made comments saying that online wasn't going to be a priority for brawl....and taht he's not sure if it will work out

but that recent SSBB boxart with the "wifi" logo has given me hope

lets hope nintendo pulls thorugh on this one....or else i'll feel cheated after trusting iwata's "super smash bros online" statement at nintendo's e3 2005 press conference.

Cause people arent very smart, no offense. This is the internet and people take the smallest most insignificant peice of information(or rather nothingness) and blow it up to immense proportions all the while ignoring what real information is actually there.

I'm really trying not to jump to conclusions. But the fact that it hasn't been mentioned in a long while...shouldn't that be a red flag that maybe online was PLANNED but fell through? Seriously, it is fine to mention Mario Kart 08 having online, but no mention of Brawl having onlineat E3? Oh, but wait...it had been mentioned already. I think Nintendo wants to surprise with a confirmation of online later this year to build up the hype. I think they decided to not mention the confirmation of online this year's E3 so that people will doubt and get excited if it will have online or not to build up the hype.

Shigeru myamoto already said it doesnt have online dont know why people still think it has online he said it at E3. its not going to have online anytime soon. plus Friends codes will kill online right through the gut.Hitamaru-homia

It has online, this was confirmed 2 years ago. We are not hearing anything about it right now because either

1: The online will be MASSIVE as In MASSIVE 64 vs 64 tournaments and more etc.

2: Its a hype machine, Nintendo love filling their fans with confusion over something important and this seems no different, expect them to plaster some "Glorious" facts about the online that they don't want to announce yet.

The updated boxart of that Gamestop shop's site that has the Wifi logo I think looks like the actual boxart to me. If it is, where the hell is the box Snake is hiding in in the background? or any other 3rd party characters?.
