The Persona 5 Blu Ray Disc comes out on 6/23, and it comes with new information for the game.

Yeah at this point I doubt Sega are going to fund the game themselves, though they might look at publishing in certain territories, and yes getting a cut of that money lol.

Not that I care at all about this game, but I think Sony have a nerve asking people to fund Shenmue 3 so they can keep it hostage from Xbox and WiiU. Especially when all you ever hear nostalgic Xbox gamers drone on about is Shenmue III.

This is less substantial than an announcement for a game, even if not ready for release, is in actual production.

Currently we are planning development only for PC (Windows) and PS4. Other platforms have not been decided yet.

They must be getting some funding from else where as well. No one is making a game like this for $2M. Since it's coming to the Playstation and PC, Sony probably is funding it too. Guess they needed proof of interest or something.

The need it on the PC to expand to as many sales as well without it being on the Xbox One.

Disappointed they are not making a Shenmue HD collection or something. It would be neat to play the first two games, but I'm not willing to buy a Dreamcast just to do it. Dreamcast emulation is still pretty wonky as well.

That'll probably get released closer to when Shenmue 3 goes gold.

Other than nostalgia factor, i don't get the hype for Shenmue 3.

I loved the first games, they were incredibly innovative for their time (graphics, level of interaction with the environments, choices, etc), but standards has changed alot in 15 years.

For current standards, the story seems too simple, quick time events are more hated than loved, that level of interaction with the environments has been done in thousands of games, and basically every game looks good now.

Ryan Payton has some choice things to say about Shenmue. I'm so glad it's back =)

not only that but this game is nowhere near getting released. Id guess its at the very least 3-4 years away. now if they remade the first shenmue with new graphics, new controls, new gameplay systems, that i would be fucking pumped for. idk what a new shenmue game is in 2015 though.
