Yeah, but the series has always been multiplat though, but I would like to see what they could do with all that space on those Blu Ray discs.;)

Not only would it be big news, but I believe working on a single console can really help push the next GTA miles ahead of GTA IV. The PS3 has a lot of potential and Rockstar is ridiculously talented. It would be great, but I strongly doubt Rockstar has anything to prove, nor would they waste such funds (unless Sony paid for it). They can easily make more making it a 360 exclusive anyway (over a PS3 exclusive), but that wouldn't really leave much for them to improve vastly on GTA IV.
I do wish 3rd party devs would work solely on the PS3 because I want to see what they are capable of producing on such a fine piece of technology. GTA is just too huge to limit to one console for profit, but thankfully, this is what AGENT is for and I do kudo R* for experimenting with the PS3 hardware

If sony lent them that money, Rockstar wouldn't have to pay it back. So that rockstar can use the money they made from using that loan into making even better games. That's how much Sony cares about the gaming industry and us gamers.
Aku101
no they wouldnt gaming is an industry and sony would probably ask for 50 million from their revenue, that is if they actually did.
Sony doesn't care about making money as much as they do about pleasing their customers.
Dude, you live in a fantasy world! You have got to wake up. When a PS system of any kind breaks Sony demands you pay for repairs. Why do you believe this utter garbage you spew? Sony is a capitalist corporation like any other, whose sole objective is to turn profit.my friend even said that he heard it will be ps3 exclusive and he has a 360.....where is every1 getting this info from that im missing? was it leaked somewhere? and if so then wow. well it was the "PLAYSTATION' brand that made gta to the way it is now. also why not test your game development abilities on a system that can hanlde w.e you throw at it? want to be known for the best game ever made? "PS3, it only does everything":P
[QUOTE="cow_allesandro"][QUOTE="ActicEdge"]some devs like rockstar actually care about the art more then money. and the PS3 canvas is just to superior to the 360 hardware for devs not to take advantage of making the best game they can make. the PS3 hardware is just too powerful, the Cell design cant be matched by 360 and making a game with 360 in mind just downgrades the whole product. This is a known fact devs are talking about it left and right, we cant just ignore it. Rockstar accepted $50 million from MS for two exclusive DLC. :|Simple response. Does Rockstar hate money? If so then yes.

it would be like this: i have the best tasting cheesecake(ps3) in the world, and you have the worst most disgusting cheesecake (360) in the world. now R* will of course choose my cheesecake (ps3) but if you bribe R* with 50 million bucks then of course R* will eat yours first, but in the end R* will always coming back to mine :)
lol idk what that was all about with the cheesecake and stuff but it works :D
Yeah but GTA4 being multiplat made it the highest selling piece of entertainment ever. If it had been exclusive to any platform, Halo 3 would still have that title. There is no reason to leave revenue on the table in this way. It makes no sense and this is a business. They don't care about this fanboy war, they care about profit.my friend even said that he heard it will be ps3 exclusive and he has a 360.....where is every1 getting this info from that im missing? was it leaked somewhere? and if so then wow. well it was the "PLAYSTATION' brand that made gta to the way it is now. also why not test your game development abilities on a system that can hanlde w.e you throw at it? want to be known for the best game ever made? i wouldn't think so.
Sony got it's big exclusive from Square Enix in the form of Final Fantasy Versus 13, and they got their big exclusive from Rockstar games in the form of Agent.
it really seems to me that Sony, having lost an old exclusivity, has opted to get a new exclusive in some new fashion.
Could very well be Sony's way of trying not to do a 'me too' move everytime the 360 has gained an advantage, IE Netflix, Cross-Game Chat, Wii's Motion controls.
i don't mind me-too moves, but if that is al of it.. well...

I agree, rockstar always prefers the msot pwoerful system to develop on. SUch as in PS1, PS2 and now PS3.
Sorry, PS2 was the least powerful last gen.
Also, this thread once again proves that this is Cowspot. If you really wanted Rockstar to develop on the platform that would allow them to create the biggest and best game you'd obviously want them to choose the PC, but no, you're a bunch of sony fanboys, and you have completely ignored the PC because you cows think PS3 is the holy grail.
I have half a mind to dump Crysis screens on you wippersnappers.
Hmm, I agree that they won't make a GTA game exclusive to the PS3, because they will lose a lot of sales. But, all those GTA games in the previous gen, at least the majority of them, were ported over to the PC and Xbox by a seperate part of R* (not R* North). I don't know. Just giving some background information. =) TC, I think this is what Agent is for. Hopefully it shows that that the PS3 has got some tricks hidden. Though, I'm expecting it to flop, sales wise. Why would they do that when every single GTA game has been multiplatform?

The most powerful system such as the PS2 which is not as powerful as the Xbox or the gamecube.
Or the most powerful system such as the PS1 which is not as powerful as the N64.
Do the benefits of going exclusive make sense for the developer? if not, then no. GTA has a huge fanbase on the 360, and the 360 is leading in sales. it simply won't happen. KukicAdo
This. Why would they make the next GTA game a PS3 exclusive, especially considering that GTA 4 sold a lot better on 360 than PS3 did, & that the 360 is much easier to develop for than PS3? Not to mention that it took them many years plus $100 million to make that game. That would be a dumb move.

Lending implies paying it back. And Sony's strapped for cash so probably wouldn't be able to just give money away. They'd lose a war of attrition with Microsoft.[QUOTE="reveiwer"]

Okay, who's spiked the Kool-Aid? If Sony didn't care about money (which is the #1 concern of any business, especially one that's publicly traded), they have to answer to the stockholders (who do care more about Sony making money--it hurts their investments otherwise).Does a peacock need all those feathers? The answer lies in money.siLVURcrossActually, a peacock does need the feathers. It turns peahens on.

PC is there orgin? They even older then you think, they develop (as DMA Design) original Lemmings for Amiga (best version) and Comodore 64, Psygnosis was only publisher (Like MS for Halo). Microcomputers was mostly end up gameing devices, at least here in central europe where NEs come much later as a russian clone called Pegasus.
I have a question. Considering how much time and effort it took just to create something the size of New York City, has anyone given thought to just how much more it would take to build on it two or even threefold (which is what the cows are proposing)? Heck, Oblivion and Fallout 3 took forever to make, too (and had big budgets), and they both fit on DVDs. So does any cow here believe anyone actually has the time, money, and resources to actually fill 25GB (let alone 50GB) with honest game data (that means no videos, everything properly compressed so it passes off the drive quickly, etc.)? And no, MGS4 doesn't qualify since it skimped on the compression.

But yea GTA was always multiplatform, Sony only had time exclusivity. But it's sad to see they shifting from PC, makeing Pc games longer to wait and make even worse ports each installment.
I think most of the complaints about GTAIV is not about the size of the city, but about all the features that were left out. Look at SanAndreas, it had a huge map, but it also had so many fun things you could do after you were done with all the missions. In GTAIV this doesn't happen, there's no real appeal to get back in the game.I have a question. Could've sworn it was on the PC first. My bad. That's less a limitation of the 360's CPU and GPU and more a limitation of the RAM, engine, and existing assets (and the PS3 cannot fix the RAM problem--it has the same amount).Again in almost all the reviews of this X360 exclusives, including BOTH the GTA expansions. Reviewers have claimed that graphics are starting to show age.
