I'd prefer it to be multi platform. If it had to be exclusive to anything for "MOAR POWAH!" reasons, it should be PC.

[QUOTE="mgs_freak91"][QUOTE="JangoWuzHere"]Hmm, I agree that they won't make a GTA game exclusive to the PS3, because they will lose a lot of sales. But, all those GTA games in the previous gen, at least the majority of them, were ported over to the PC and Xbox by a seperate part of R* (not R* North). I don't know. Just giving some background information. =) TC, I think this is what Agent is for. Hopefully it shows that that the PS3 has got some tricks hidden. Though, I'm expecting it to flop, sales wise. The PC was R* North's platform of origin. IIRC, the PC versions of the GTA trilogy were done by R* North themselves (don't recall seeing any other R* logo in my copies of GTA3 and VC).Why would they do that when every single GTA game has been multiplatform?
HuusAsking
Rockstar North worked on both the PS2 and PC versions of the games and at the time of the xbox ports they were thrown to Vienna as North were working on San Andreas.Trust me boot up Vice city on the PS2 and you will get a nice shiny R* north logo.
Rockstar North does most if not all the coding for their initial releases in house and dont turf the developement. Also R*North done all 3 versions of GTA SA as vienna shut down and Lincoln became a test house.
Oh and btw on the initial pressings of GTA 3 Rockstar North were still under the DMA design banner :P i know way too much i know but R* North is local and i know where their offices are they are only a few streets away from my cousins flat.
some devs like rockstar actually care about the art more then money. and the PS3 canvas is just to superior to the 360 hardware for devs not to take advantage of making the best game they can make. the PS3 hardware is just too powerful, the Cell design cant be matched by 360 and making a game with 360 in mind just downgrades the whole product. This is a known fact devs are talking about it left and right, we cant just ignore it.[QUOTE="cow_allesandro"][QUOTE="ActicEdge"]
Simple response. Does Rockstar hate money? If so then yes.

I agree, rockstar always prefers the most powerful system to develop on. SUch as in PS1, PS2 and now PS3.
 You can't be serious, those were, you know, the weakest of their generations. That's less a limitation of the 360's CPU and GPU and more a limitation of the RAM, engine, and existing assets (and the PS3 cannot fix the RAM problem--it has the same amount). gta can still look better if its done on ps3 alone...infamous world looks good. better than gta....so they can make gta v much better if its only on ps3[QUOTE="cb_au"]
Again in almost all the reviews of this X360 exclusives, including BOTH the GTA expansions. Reviewers have claimed that graphics are starting to show age.

Is every street named? Is it about the size of New York City? That's mostly a matter of time and money.[QUOTE="cb_au"]

If sony wanted to and PAID for it then, it would be so..anything else such as profits would be a bonus for rockstar. Personally it would be interesting to see how different it would/could look being an exclusive then how it looks now gta4..Unless it magically made their profits higher , no :)

What's in it for Sony then?
BTW, no, GTA5 won't be a PS3 exclusive. It would be better than multiplat no matter if it's a X360 exclusive, or a PS3 exclusive, but since money is involved too, it will be mutliplat.
I thought GTA will ever be an exclusive title again. The amount of money R* made off 360 is staggering. To limit yourself to one console doesn't make business sense. Artistically, allowing the devs to use a machine with a standard HDD and bigger storage format would be a dream come true, but as always it's a balance of business sense and artistic vision. On the bright side, new IPs like Agent will allow R* to do all the stuff we wanted them to do with GTA4 but w/o being limited by making the game for the lowest common denominator. CyanX73By why even make new IPs exclusive? Or is Sony paying so much money that it offsets the potential benefits of taking the new IP multiplat as well?

There's always this option but I'm pretty sure that with half this investment their first party devs could make a whole new ip/sequel and have higher profits than they would have making gta exclusive.Just my wild guess :P
[QUOTE="12345678ew"]it takes money to perform the art, and 50 million for 6 months work is a fantastic plan, then you can spend like 6 years working on your dream game on all that cash.Silverbond
That 50 million was a loan. R* has to pay it back.
if they didn't meet MS sales quote. Why would they make a horrible mistake like that, and besides 360 alwas gets the game first than get ported to ps3 :P
Technical reasons aside: of course not! PS3-only would mean only PS3 players could play the game, thus limiting potential players. Some 360-only people might want the game but don't want to buy a PS3 just to get it but would gladly buy it if it was on their system.

Are you joking?
If they want the most powerful, they would go with PC.
And GTA 5 will most likely be multiplat, because multi-platform = more $$$
Oh yes rockstar will put in one only ps3 losing millions and they will even give it out for free to ps3 people

Xbox > gamecube> PS2any game would be better on the ps3. but the thing is, Microsoft could buy out rockstar 500 times over in a second if they wanted to, so its going to be multiplat.SandallmanAny game? What is with fanboy comments like this, you know nothing about console development so stop please.
Yes there will be another GTA this gen. I read on wikipedia they've already started on GTA V.Will GTA5 even come out during this generation? If so the city will be small again with less things to do then GTA SA.
Tyrant156
If it makes the game better than it is right now then sure why not! But seeing that making it multiplatform will net them more sales, I just don't see them taking this route to be quite honest.

When has being exclusive ever benefitted a GTA game? The PS3 has already proven that more storage space doesn't make for a bigger, better or longer game.
some where timed exclusive, and some never even made it to xbox...so next gta could be timed exclusive for as long as 6 month or maybe more...no GTA has ever beena PS exclusive if any thing it should be PC exclusive.

But heres the difference between EA and MS....MS sells OS, Word Excel etc, software while EA ONLY sells games. MS is as rich as any company in the world and they have more firepower ($) than EA to buy T2
Considering how much it sold on the 360, I'd say hells to the no. Also I doubt GTA 5 will be on the current generation of consoles.

you can't be serious.\At least it doesn't need mandatory installation.

Allow to me use your own words: mandatory installations (when was the last time we had one of those) "are not as bad people make them seem".
