Poll Should MS allow future Bethesda games on PS5? (78 votes)
Basic question.
Basic question.
@wandering_halls: I don’t know if happiness is part of the question but you seemed put out by me not specifically stating the obvious so I simply asked if you were happy now that I answered. 🤷♂️
So you just threw this post out there, one that has already been done before, hot on the heels of this recent Sony acquisition news. Riiiiiiight. 😂
I'd like to see the new Indiana Jones on PS5 given that it was announced before the acquisition but I'm a realist. I have a 99% expectation that it will not be on PS5 and that I'll wait about 10 years or so to play it eventually on PC.
No other games from the Bethesda acquisition concern me in the slightest as their library wasn't my cup of tea to begin with.
Cool, then you should be able to point to where in the OP Bethesda games being solely exclusive to Xbox was stated.
Easy, right?
You stated exclusivity twice in the OP with regards to Bethesda games. 😂 You flubbed.
Again, cool. Now, then:
If you please, point to where in the OP Bethesda games being solely exclusive to Xbox was stated.
Guess it isn't so easy, after all.
Anyway I’m totally fine with games being available on all systems when possible. Gives me and others to simply play them on our system of choice. 🤷♂️

Again, why would I care about Sony acquisitions? I game 100% on PC these days. I don't even own a PS5. Nor do I plan on getting one in the near future, if ever. I would rather all Sony games come to PC.
Again, cool. Now, then:

The implication is made in both of your options but you can keep doing the pretend game. 🙃
@wandering_halls: I don’t know if you care or not. Simply pointing out what spurred this topic to be created. 🤷♂️

I'll just leave this here. Ya know, for shits and giggles.

Yeah, but, you were wrong, lol.
What spurred this topic is what you see in this thread. Hehe.
First party, yes, it is their studio.
Third party, no, that is paying someone off.
Fair enough.
But damn it I want Astro Bot on PC.
If they do they do, if they don't they don't. This notion that Bethesda is the whole kitchen sink is getting old. Bethesda hasn't had a 10 million seller (across multiple platforms since Fallout 4) PS gamers will be fine as there's plenty of games not coming to Series X or Gamepass. We can stop pretending MS has caught up with Sony in terms of games, they were worlds apart and MS is the ones that have to prove themselves, not the other way around. Enjoy circle jerking Lems, you'll be doing it without substance for a long time.
MS games already aren't exclusive. They would more than likely even put them on PS if Sony allowed GP on it.
Likely, yeah. The thing is, Microsoft themselves advertise their games as exclusives.
@wandering_halls: So you’re saying that the recent Sony acquisition news and threads had absolutely no influence whatsoever, regardless of whether you care or not, on the creation of this thread?
I guess there could be a very, VERY slim chance of me being wrong about that but I can live with those odds. 😅

Holy crap, dude.
Try not to argue with yourself.😎
@wandering_halls said:@lebanese_boy said:Microsoft/Sony might spin this as some sort of exclusive (like when they say console exclusive, which doesn't mean much) but as soon as you have it on another platform it is by definition not an exclusive.
Examples of non-exclusives; Street Fighter 5, Halo Infinite, Zelda BoTW. Even if the last one is "Nintendo-exclusive", it is not truly exclusive (which isn't a bad thing) because you find it on another platform regardless of the owner of that platform.
Lol, true enough about MS/Sony. That's why exclusivity can mean many things these days.
The only thing I care about is that everything comes to PC.

@wandering_halls: It's just platform exclusivity. They also have made it clear they're willing to share their platform with anyone willing to do business, Sony clearly doesn't want to so they don't get access to the games.
Yeah, I know. But the point remains. MS might be open to whatever, but at the end of the day they advertise these games as exclusive, regardless.
I'm going to be 100% honest here. I absolutely couldn't care less.
Can I still play all Bethesda games day one on Game Pass? People being able to play those games elsewhere has zero impact on me.
Try not to argue with yourself.😎

You just posted me saying that exclusivity can mean many things these days, because it is true that MS/Sony have spun the definition to include multiple mediums. Which is why I said "true enough about MS/Sony". Naturally.
Bravo, dude.

Your question is clear, should they allow their games on Playstation. MS is clearly open to it, they have already done business with Nintendo and Gaben recently, Sony doesn't want to do business. Sounds to me like it's Sony's reluctance to do a deal that is causing Playstation gamers to not have access to future Bethesda titles.
Why would Microsoft buy a studio to put games on the PS5 and Switch? They bought the studio for a reason, which is likely exclusivity to their ecosystem (Xbox, PC, and maybe mobile in the future). They might throw a few bones at the other consoles if it makes sense for them, but they'll have exclusives for the most part.

You negated your own post about MS claims. It is that simple....dude. 😎

MS might well be open to it, and Sony might well not be. Either is entirely possible, probably even likely. My point is, it's weird that MS is so open to it, yet at the same time they don't miss the chance to advertise their games as "exclusive". I mean, why tout exclusivity as a positive when you're at the same time apparently against exclusivity? Phil Spencer specifically said exclusivity goes against their vision, and yet MS advertises....exclusivity for their games, lol. It doesn't make sense.
@wandering_halls: Why so defensive? Never said you were playing Sony Defense Force or anything. Just saying that had it not been for the recent Sony acquisition news and threads then I feel that most likely this thread would never exist. I simply find that amusing. 🤷♂️
Hell I even admitted that there is a possibility of me being wrong about that but I just find it unlikely. You basically admitted to this when you said that the reactions in this thread were why it was made. 😅

What? I straight up provided the reason for why exclusivity means many things these days, namely because Sony/MS have expanded the definition. That's called supporting the argument, lol.
You have an odd way of reading things, my dude.

He is being defense because you are right. It is that simple...dude. 😉
@NathanDrakeSwag: Apparently posting incredibly ironic statements is beyond your comprehension as well. 🤣🤣🤣
It's amazing how folks get upset over a simple question.
So much anger in this thread.
It's amazing how folks get upset over a simple question.
After losing E3 to Nintendo and now seeing Sony acquire all of these studios who create 9/10 rated bangers lemmings are melting down.

You literally agreed with
"Microsoft/Sony might spin this as some sort of exclusive (like when they say console exclusive, which doesn't mean much) but as soon as you have it on another platform it is by definition not an exclusive."
"Lol, true enough about MS/Sony."
Your words bud. Don't fight yourself...dude. 😎
@wandering_halls: Why so defensive? Never said you were playing Sony Defense Force or anything.
Ah, okay. I thought you were implying that I was. Fair enough. My bad.
But seriously, I wasn't even thinking about the acquisitions when I made this, lol. I literally just made the thread for the hell of it.

That's all semantics that are irrelevant to the question you posed in your OP. If Sony wants Bethesda games they are right there waiting, Jimmy R just needs give the ok. If you want to have a discussion about MS's alleged hypocrisy regarding exclusivity then you should have made that post instead.

Um, yeah, dude. True enough about MS/Sony means.....true enough about the fact that MS/Sony have spun exclusivity to mean many things, namely that multiple mediums can still mean exclusive. I wasn't talking about the latter part of the sentence, which is why I isolated the MS/Sony part....obviously.
Again, this just supports what I was saying. Exclusivity has been expanded due to efforts by MS/Sony marketing. You may not agree with it, but the point remains. MS/Sony define exclusivity as multiple mediums.
@Pedro: Yeah, and this was already discussed before anyway. Why not make a thread about any other companies putting their “exclusives” on all other platforms. Although that too has probably been discussed recently as well. 🤷♂️
Ah, okay. I thought you were implying that I was. Fair enough. My bad.

Sure
Lol, I don't have a PS5. I haven't used my PS4 for anything but netflix in a year, probably. Nothing about Sony except for maybe Demon's Souls even really interests me this gen. I might well never get a PS5. PC crushes Sony, which is why I've abandoned them almost completely.
Now, again, why would I care about Sony acquisitions, other than if some good games come along, I hope they get put on PC?

Fair enough. Getting a bit off topic, I suppose.
As for Sony wanting Bethesda games or not, really couldn't care either way, personally. The thread is objective. I just want them all to come to PC, which they are, so I'm set.

Nothing in my "sure" had any of the baggage you attached.

These companies can define exclusive to fit their agenda but if the game is available on more than one platform it is no longer exclusives. If we are to go by these same companies marketing bullshit, we should be gaming at 4K 60fps with no loading for any game. 😉
