show me a console game like this ( no 56k)

Thats is so totally wrong on the stanrdards things. Standards are formulated based on competition between different games. With fewer games to compare to, expectations are lower. The PC has over ten times as many high quality titles as the 360 to compare to. Standards are WAY higher on the PC no matter how you look at it. "Because its at the beginning of its life cycle" is all the more reason why games are being scored even more leaniently.Vandalvideo

Thats absolutely ridiculous to even consider comparing older games to current day games. Honestly, we both know that you can't take a 3+ year old game and compare it to a modern day game. I really hope you don't think that STALKER is in competition with the original Half-Life...

And as for the consoles, they can still be compared to against the other platforms (which the PC lacks), and the 360 still has quite a few games, plus gameplay can be compared to previous games in a franchise on other platforms. Therefore, the competition issue still stands for consoles as hermits like to ignore. You can turn a blind-eye to it if it makes you sleep at night, though.

What he said is that PC scores are lower because they have generations of games to stack up against.  With consoles, you don't have that.  How did he say PC gaming is dying?  Learn to read.

"continually scoring lower", so why would that motivate developers to make games for PC's when not only do they sell worse, but apparently to Vandal they also get harsher reviews. Doesn't sound very practical to me, no wonder why so many developers have made console version counter-parts.

And I stand by my words, reviewers don't take older games into consideration. In theory, yes there is a bigger library, but in reality its has barely any impact on the game's review scores and is just a lame hermit excuse.

ok, I will try to explain what I mean using real Pictures. this is what the abandoned city of Chernobyl looks like.... now when you see these what is the first thing you see? its decay, you see a city that has been abandoned for over 20 years, collapsing in on itself.... look at the walls, the ceilings, or anything else. Its simply deteriorating. Now look at STALKER obviously it is nowhere near as good....But it is still Damn amazing.... This attention to detail is simply unseen within GEOW, Mass Effect, or anything else you can give me.

Dude, give it up.  Gears and Mass Effect just look better.  Every review out there has said something about how the graphics are dated due to releasing Stalker far too late.  It still looks amazing, but it's definately not better looking than Gears.

What attention to detail.  I mean its a bathroom!!!!!  Some brown and green tiles and a rotted toilet..  Now im not saying the game isnt amazing or fun to play, considering i havnt played the game yet and i usually dont rip on/praise a game i havnt personally played,  but i think you hermits are reaching a little bit with the whole grafix thing on this game.......

Look man all im saying is that i think you're completly biased on the whole gears of war grafix vs any pc game grafix thing.  Of course you are entitled to your opinion.........no matter how wrong it is.... 

The 1st screen looks like CoD 2 on 360. But the 2nd screen is okay. Gears of War and MGS4 still look better.princeofshapeir

You see the thing is their facts when YOU say they are though.  Gears is shiney and MEaty is a fact to you.....I on the other hand didnt think the game was remotly shiney and is the grafical technical masterpiece of the last 5 years.......FACT?!?!?! 

360: I hate to break it to you, but that isn't a reason that developers are shying away from PC games, not when the vast majority of PC gamers could care less about review scores. Even games like Dark Messiah that was reviewed crap sold well. Look, if you want to prove to me that past games are not taken into account, PROVE IT. Oh thats right, you can't. You're working off of mere gueses and inference. I can, however, say that the review faq CLEARLY STATES they review games based off of all genres on the same platform. There is no exclusion clause ANYWHERE that states they cut off games after a set date. As far as you or I know, they DO include these games in their review scores. Prove they don't. Vandalvideo

Also, here are some loop-holes in your theory.

1. PC isn't a console and is irregular when comparing to the other platforms. Instead of having a fine line of when next-gen starts, its foggy and you don't have an exact time-line. So instead of making an educated hypothesis, you completely disreguard it and go onto believe that all games are similiar in each genre no matter how old they date. Pathetic.

2. If the review faq says they are in comparison to previously released games on the platform, then why do some PS3 multi-plat games score lower than 360 ones? Case-and-point, Tony Hawk Project 8 - there are no other extreme sports/skateboarding games available on PS3 and it was compared to the 360 version as having frame-rate problems.

That should do it for your standards theory...

Well like I said you are intended to your opinion.....and you know what i like you simply because you are pretty well educated when it comes to games and hardware and you usually dont pull random fanboyish statments out of your a**.  So I'll leave it at that.  You can think whatever you want about the whole grafix thing but i must say i firmly disagreee with your opinion...

Why do games on different consoles score less, like multiplats? Well that would have to be perceived standards. Not to mention multiplats are NOT carbon copies of each other. Multi-plats are usually clones of a game. And in my examples, Tony Hawk Project 8 had no other differences. Your really not convincing me with your theory as your reasoning is false behind the lower scored PS3 multi-plats.
