Alright, thanks a lot. One more question, if I want to trade in a Wii as well, I need the cables too right? And I don't have to trade in controllers, just the Wii? Maybe I won't, just wanna make sure.

Arbiterisl33t69

I dont think you would need the controller, but it would be deducted from the trade in value. You will need the cables

Yeah I'mma keep it then. So, after transferring game saves and themes to my USB, I can format the hardrive? I have my credit card linked, as well.

yea you can format it after that....i'd put your profile on the USB as well....much faster than having to recover it

but i wouldn't format it until you are sure you are getting one THAT day, lol....call and make sure your gamestop has em in and stuff

[QUOTE="bigboss5ak"]I have a question if i were to trade in everything i have id get about 250 but how much will the tax be?? Also if you have a gamestop card how much extra do you getCDUB316

i got $12 extra with my EDGE card...which i totally forgot to add, lmao!

and tax was like around that much i believe...so the EDGE card should pay your tax

Do you need the EDGE card at hand? I've used it, and I remember them giving me extra for the card without me having it at hand, they just found it through their computer.

Thanks for answering my other question.

Idk about trading in my hardrive.. How would I transfer my account and everything in my hardrive to the 360 S once I got it? If I wanted to trade in my old 360, I'd have to remove the hardrive first, obviously..Arbiterisl33t69
you can hold off on selling your hard drive, and when you buy the new system you can then take the old hard drive after transfering in and still get the full credit amount.

As well to people wondering the transfer cable works in reverse in this instance, you hook the old hard drive to the sata slot on the cable and hook the usb end to the new slim 360, the disc will then let you transfer the stuff.

As well Cdub you should update your OP and put that edge cards give you 10% on each of the accessory items you can trade in such as hard drives, and controllers and memory units and network adaptors.

As well as I said if you want to transfer your harddrive info over *a far far faster process then the downloading of each item in your download history...of which I have about 1000 items lol* you can trade in every thing but your hard drive, get the new system then take the hard drive in and trade it in and still get the credit for it under the promotion.

because your going to get a better price else where? go to ebay and you might get more, MIGHT you'll likely get the same or less, and then there is the shipping costs, and unreliable purchasers..

you might think its getting ripped off, but really this is how buisness works..if something is used its worth far less then it is new, and while gamestop gouges prices this is actually a pretty good deal considering that you would have gotten less for the hard drives, or the system it self outside of this promotion.

Either one is a rip off and that's my point. They already have everything, why the hell trade it all in for less than it's worth only to get an updated system. Makes zero sense to me. Of course people can do what they like, I just think they are getting ripped.

I all ready asked my local gamestop and called gamespot corperate to confirm, you can do this. you pay the amount there and they are able to refund you your amount on that trade in.

So you trade in the system, an extra controller, and a 250 gig hardrive thus your geting 175 dollars off, but you want to keep the hard drive so thats 125, you pay the difference, and then trade teh 250 gig for the 50. and if you paid with credit they take 50 off since you've traded it in.

yep he had a pro launch system, that by certan users on the forum *not you* say will eventually fail a hard hard hard death, he didn't have wireless, he had a 20 gig hard drive. now he traded in for a brand new smaller system thats been updated with 45nm processors, better fans and new mother board build so the chances of rrod and e74 are even lower, he has wireless n now, and 250 gigs.

I really dont think its of any concern to you how people spend there money. For me, my old 360 lacked the hdmi port and my 120gb HDD was full. I could not pass up this Gamestop promotion.

i did NOT have 250gb (i had 20gb) or wifi or an HDMI slot

plus like i said...my LAUNCH pro model was out of warranty and it was going to RROD someday....so i got $155 out of it NOW instead of zero later

so i would have paid $300 if i had let my pro RROD

By the way, I've not done this year or gotten the new system, but I'm debating it very strongly. I have a 120 gig hard drive, so it would be more space, I dont have wireless and though I dont really need it it would be nice to have, and I just wanna rub it in my friend joes face that I got a new shiny thing.

So i'm debating on whether I should do this.
I have my system, my 120 gig, 2 extra controllers, a memory card. and I have a plathoria of games to trade in..so as I said im unsure. I don't wanna trade in too many games to get the thing for no money out of pocket...but I have so many 360 games that I just might not ever play cause of my large backlog...

Right now, I'm doing a little bit of deleting useless stuff I don't need. I have 4.8 GB in my game saves plus everything else would make it 5 GB, but my USB only supports 4 GB. Am I screwed now? I don't wanna spend money on the transfer kit Also, my credit card info is found in my profile, someone said something about it being linked to his hardrive? Is this the same case, or do I not need to worry about that?

Again, you can spend your money like you want. it's none of my business. I'm just from my point of view, if I have a working system I would have just kept it. My original comment came off a little arrogant but it wasn't intended like that. Was just my opinion that the deal is a rip.

With all the 360 stuff I have, I could get $195 towards a 360 slim. I'm really tempted to do it, but I don't want to spend the additional 130 dollars when I have a perfectly functional Xbox already.

I was already going to sell my console to a friend for the same. Considering its for all consoles including ones that lack HDMI (mine), i thought it was good, even if you look at the resale price of them which is only around $30 more...Regardless, you should be expected to be ripped off when walking into Gamestop.

Actually I have another USB, can't believe I didn't think of that. So I can just transfer most of it to the 4 GB USB, then everything else to the other USB, and that's it, right? Oh and could someone kindly answer my credit card question?

I would consider this deal, if it is available in Canada...Also how would I transfer all the data on my 20Gb HDD to my new 250GB one if I traded in the 20Gb one?

Transfer like 2 or 3GB of your memory on your USB. Transfer to 360. Then go back and transfer the rest.

Damn you guys have got me considering it now, I'll have to wait and see what the UK deals are like, I've got a 60GB 360 and a wireless adaptor so I'd hope that would get me quite a lot of the money towards one, have to wait and see first, not going to rush into it.

Im debating weather i should do this as well i have a 64MB memory card, wireless adapter, 20 gig HDD, one wired controller and FF13 (ps3 version which trade in value would be 25 dollars) so in total id have a little over 250 but im debating weather i should pull the trigger on this.

[QUOTE="Arbiterisl33t69"][QUOTE="wolverine4262"][QUOTE="Arbiterisl33t69"]Right now, I'm doing a little bit of deleting useless stuff I don't need. I have 4.8 GB in my game saves plus everything else would make it 5 GB, but my USB only supports 4 GB. Am I screwed now? I don't wanna spend money on the transfer kit Also, my credit card info is found in my profile, someone said something about it being linked to his hardrive? Is this the same case, or do I not need to worry about that?

well, you can spend $10 and get another flash drive. If you flash the HDD all info is erased. As long as you do that, there is nothing to worry about.

Actually I have another USB, can't believe I didn't think of that. So I can just transfer most of it to the 4 GB USB, then everything else to the other USB, and that's it, right? Oh and could someone kindly answer my credit card question?

Yes, and I already did. When you flash the drive, credit card info will flash too. There is nothing to worry about. When you recover you gamertag, credit card info should go too. BTW, I want to stress the need to go to xbox.com and transfer your licenses after you finish setting everything up.

Yeah I got the transfering licenses part, but that's for when I do get the 360 s. Thanks a lot, btw.

With all the 360 stuff I have, I could get $195 towards a 360 slim. I'm really tempted to do it, but I don't want to spend the additional 130 dollars when I have a perfectly functional Xbox already.Guppy507

same here.

Thats a pretty cool deal there at Gamestop I guess. I would do it but my Xbox 360 has been acting funny lately giving my RROD sometimes when I turn it on but if I turn it on and off a few times it starts working again and plays just fine. So I doubt they'd take my Xbox:( . I'll probably just end up buying one later at full price once my Xbox completely stops working whenever that is.
