[QUOTE="Litchie"] Fo reals? I've pretty much heard nothing but praise for the game. I've played about 2 or 3 hours of it, and it seemed pretty creepy and tense to me.. But the game seemed playable. I had to quit Silent Hill 2 because it was too scary. I was a kid, though, but... I'm not touching that again lol.

Shattered Memories is a pretty sweet game. It's the one in which you don't want the fans' opinion lol.
Silent Hill fans come right behind Sonic fans as the most confused group ever. Every Silent Hill game has to be like Silent Hill 2. The trouble is, nothing can be Silent Hill 2, because it's obviously a one-and-done. Therefore each new Silent Hill is automatically inferior. Yet they yearn for a new Silent Hill every year, and each time one is announced, they moan like a dead horse is being beat. And each of these sequels is rated on a scale of one to Silent Hill 2: one being a game that actually plays well in the modern age, and Silent Hill 2 being the actual, f*cking Silent Hill 2 released in 2001 for the PS2.
It's as if the Silent Hill fans have trapped the Silent Hill franchise in its own, little prison town of Silent Hill. It's Silent Hillception, yo.
That's true to an extent, but I think you're giving SH2 a bit too much credit. The first three games as a whole are what most Silent Hill fans consider to be the bar that all others must be judged by. And there's plenty of us, myself included, who consider SH3 to be the best entry. Twin Perfect considers it to be the best and those guys are basically the all knowing masters when it comes to all things Silent Hill. :P
i'm with you, SH3 is my favorite as well...
