What do you mean ? I don't get it...turgoreits a very clever word game to bash the whole "ZOMG CONSOLE EXCLUSIVE EVEN THOUGH ITS ON THE PC DURKA" thing.
[QUOTE="CaseyWegner"]...pc exclusive. that cool?Yellow_Rose
Not very many people own gaming PC's either ;)
Besides the what, "200 million" - Microsoft. -_-[QUOTE="CaseyWegner"]...pc exclusive. that cool?Yellow_Rose

then neither of them exist. :o
It makes sense to me. You guys get the "console exclusive" title and we can call it "PC exclusive". It would end a lot of pointless arguments about exclusivity. Can you give me a example of what you saying please?

Besides the what, "200 million" - Microsoft. -_-200 million don't own gaming PC's. Not, even, close. The ability to play solitaire on a PC doesn't qualify it as a gaming PC, especially in the context of this forum.
The whole "exclusivity" thing is silly to begin with.
I see the PC and the 360 as counterparts, peers. I don't see why 360 owners and PC owners seem to dislike eachother so much (maybe because their platforms have so much in common in terms of software, and no one fights like family.) I own a 360 so I don't really feel the compulsion to own a gaming PC. If I owned a gaming PC I wouldn't feel the need for a 360. Either way you'd miss out on one or two true "exclusives," but not enough to lose sleep over.Â

I hate to say it, but Microsoft was including all of the low end computers that play games like the sims. You could easily purchase a low grade PC machine that could run all of today's new games and still be able to be called a "gaming PC". What is a "gaming pc" other than a PC for playing games? So yes, we have 200million who own "Gaming PCs". Unless you want me to talk your word over Microsofts. -_-[QUOTE="smokeydabear076"]It makes sense to me. Xbox fans call it exclusive when they make exclusive lists then PC fans tell them it is not exclusive because it is on the PC as well. Then the Xbox fans say it is console exclusive then the PC fans call it PC exclusive since the PC is separate from the console group.

So yes, we have 200million who own "Gaming PCs". Unless you want me to talk your word over Microsofts. -_-No, you're mistaken. The "200 million" plus includes "games" like solitaire and mindsweeper (http://www.answers.com/topic/computer-and-video-games-that-have-been-considered-the-greatest-ever ,) not a computer's ability to "play games like the Sims." The number of gaming PC's implies number being used to play games - hence the solitaire inclusion. The base Sims games have sold less than 10 million copies (this isn't including exapansions and what not.)
It's no secret that the gaming PC numbers often include the likes of Solitaire, Mindsweeper, etc. In the context of this forum that doesn't hold water.

cause i usually only play one game at a time.
[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"] Pretty much. By calling something "Console exlusive" you're exluding the PC. By that precedent we could exclude the console and call it a "PC exclusive".shungokustasuBut the scale is tipped to the console side of this arguement. If an Xbox fan wants to prove their system the best. 9/10 he's want to show that off to PS3 and Wii, and not the PC. PC, on the other hand, If he wants to prove their system the best, he has to convince Xbox360, PS3, and Wii. Therefore, you can't exclude the console by saying "PC exclusive".
if he wants to prove his system is the best, it's going to have to best the ps3, wii, and the pc.
Ok then, how does solitaire not count? Is that not a game? A "gaming PC" is a PC used to play games none-the-less. Vandalvideo
I don't know, it just doesn't seem sensible to me. You can include Solitaire/MineSweeper/etc. under the umbrella of PC gaming if you like (Hell, most companies and pollsters do - Microsoft among them,) but I think that's ridiculous. My Mother/Aunt/Father play games like Solitaire, yet would have no idea how to go about playing an actual retail PC game (like the Sims or WOW) let alone even realize they exist for purchase. Yes, "technically" they play games on their PC's, but needless to say, these people have absolutely no impact on the gaming PC retail market. Would you consider a member of this forum with a low-end 400 dollar PC that he/she only uses to play Solitaire a "PC gamer?" I wouldn't, but maybe that's just me.

Besides the what, "200 million" - Microsoft. -_- How many of those are for gaming or are gaming worthy? You know how many non-gamers upgrade their graphics card? Whether they're kids playing "Cars" or girls playing "Sims", they still count as the base. Even those who are sitting around playing 1.6 and Vanilla COD count.[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"][QUOTE="Yellow_Rose"][QUOTE="CaseyWegner"]...pc exclusive. that cool?Spartan070

Scroll up buff. How does that ilnk prove that Microsoft's original statement of 200million with gaming PCs is wrong? It just shows that games bought aren't proportional to systems owned. Now, disprove Microsoft. GO ahead, I'm waiting.Vandalvideo
Dude, Microsoft was referring to PC's actively used to play games - games like Solitaire included, not PC's with the "ability to play games." More than 200 million own PC's - and all of them have the ability to play a "game" so that 200 million estimate doesn't hold water using your logic. However, currently around 200 million PC's currently have "games" on them - this includes programs like Solitaire that come packed-in to the vast majority of the last decade's worth of PC sales. Hence the "200 million own gaming PC's."
