The good people at Stardock are not making my life easy. As much as I like games, I do not like the Games VS Food dilemma I am presently in. And Sins is shifting the scales towards games.......... Ramen noodles and PB sandwiches it is.Private_Vegas
lol very true. I haven't gotten it myself, but I've already played a couple games with my friends and we completely lost track of time. We started playing at around 5pm and stopped playing at 3am. They should include a clock in sins IMO
A truly epic game. Even if you guys are not PC gamers you should look into this one because it runs on some pretty low end hardware very well.--Ryu--In that case should make a great LAN game for the second gaming netowrk pc im making out of old parts. Even bigger incentive to buy it.
Might wait till March 1 though - Australian release.
And this is why I'm not a PC gamer. Seriously, I don't like these types of games and this is basically much of what the pc gets. I'm not saying this applies to everyone, but theres probally a good portion.
Seriously though, anyone who owns a pc can run this game. Its not like only hardcore pc gamers can play this.

What are you talking about? You do know that the PC has more titles than consoles (by far) in every type of game genre there is.
[QUOTE="subrosian"][QUOTE="Mercenary343"]What was the Savage review problem?
I just looked at the review and its 7.1, did it deserve higher?skrat_01
That's actually the second review that's up now. The first review, the Savage developers saw that the GS reviewer had only spent three hours playing the game (since its online, they could see playtime) and they felt the review did not accurately reflect the game. However, what they did was, they essentially called GS out, released private information (the playtime and such of the reviewer) and generally kicked a lot of mud in GS' face. GS pulled the review, and re-reviewed the game, however as you can imagine, going about what they did in the manner they did, the Savage devs hurt their professional relationship with GameSpot.
It was an issue of respect and professionalism, I don't think GameSpot would hold a grudge (they're just not that way) but the Savage devs, given the problems their poor relations last time, well there may be issues. I can't honestly speak for either side, but it was a bit of fiasco last time.
What rating did it get in its original review?[QUOTE="skrat_01"][QUOTE="subrosian"][QUOTE="Mercenary343"]What was the Savage review problem?

like others mentioned before calling this game a RTS is like calling Hellgate London a FPS.
How so? And Hellgate London is part FPS.
It's precisely like you said it. "Hellgate london is part FPS", just like Sins is part RTS. But both games have stronger focus on a different genre, for Sins that is 4X. Which means that people who liked games like Gal Civs 2 will feel better at home than people who liked Starcraft.
So you're basically saying that this game is like Civ 4 which is Turn based RTS game. It's still a game where it resembles an RTS game. I know that we don't have a lot of turn based space RTS games but RTS is basically the only thing I'm seeing on the PC at the moment. I'm not that big fan of this genre, I do like games like Dawn of War or Warcraft III but I was hoping to see some other games. Consoles seem to get a lot more variety than PC's do.

How can you have a Turn Based RTS? Is it turn based or real time? Way to generalize.

Civ 4 is a Turn Based Strategy, not a Turn Based Real Time Strategy and the RTS and TBS are two differnt genres of games. It is like calling Gears of War a Third Person FPS
Gaahh!!! And it's only $40!!2008 is starting off to be a rough year for my wallet.EDIT: The first picture in the GS review alone has made my level of excitement skyrocket. Omg? A clean and easy to use interface in a space strategy game? I'm going to cry.BgrngodYou'll cry even more when you learn how mind numbingly long the learning curve is.

Haha so true!
Overall, after playing 2 maps, I kinda wish they flesh out the diplomacy part a bit more. The "missions" the other factions gave are also kinda odd. I mean here I am, trashing your homeworld and you send me a "mission" to give you credits or face your displeasure. Ok....
Plus it's kinda hard to join into an alliance even though its FFA.
What I don't get is why people are complaining about no campaign. A single SP match on a small map takes a few hours to complete. There's also nice achievements to accomplish, and medium and large sized maps that will take you days and even months to complete. The SP still has an amazing amount of depth.mo0ksiWell I won't mind a story to accompany the opening cinematic even though it's pretty standard sci-fi stuff.

I still think it would be nice with some story driven campaign but the amount of depth in the game makes up for it.

for a game with this much depth, the learning curve is surprisingly small.
