Yup! I like the 360 controller but I'd rather use a SIXAXIS with rumble any day of the week myself.

Ooooh yes indeed! Wonder how it will compare with the Wii/360 controller now...

Did Barlog just confirm that God of War 3 will be in 1080p with Sixaxis and VIBRATION functions on PS3? He sure did! Whoa! Well, technically he didn't confirm GOW3, but he confirmed Sixaxis and vibration for the future of God of War.

Here's some more important info regarding rumble and Sony. A little old but a nice add to this thread.

Quote:

Dave Karakker, Sr. Director of Corporate Communications for Sony Computer Entertainment America told 1UP the following regarding the reunification of Sony and Immersion: "We are very pleased to have reached a cooperative agreement with Immersion regarding the use of its advanced vibration technology (haptics technology). We look forward to working closely with them as we explore new and innovative ways to utilize this technology in PlayStation products."

The PS3's gamiing library is really starting to shape up.
They released new development tools to make game designing a hell of alot easier.  God of War 3 is a guranteed AAA. I was shaky at first but now I'm defiantly going to purchase a PS3 soon. PS360.

I am primarily a Nintendo fan, tsk tsk... such presuppositions will not get you far in life. Although if I were to support the 360 I would say that its controller is much more ergonomic and functional, notably the analogue placement.

Remember when Sony said this?
"Pursuant to the introduction of this new six-axis sensing system, the vibration
feature that is currently available on DUALSHOCK® and DUALSHOCK®2 controllers for
PlayStation and PlayStation®2, will be removed from the new PS3 controller as vibration
itself interferes with information detected by the sensor."

lol, any one who believed that BS is living in a dream world. It was always about their legal battle over patent rights with Immersion, they just made up the above statement to pull the wool over the eyes of loyal Play station consumers.

Hmm...I'm torn...I like the Sixaxis more (esp with rumble) but I just can't get used to it for FPS (like Resistance) for some odd reason. In which case, the Xbox360 controllers feels more natural in my hands.

What does this have to do with the fact that Sony will now be releasing a SIXAXIS rumble controller? Why don't you create your own thread about Sony's "lies".

Not mad at all, but when there is such liberal use of exclamation marks in the title it constitutes to a celebratory mood in my eyes, when in reality it should be a bashful murmur that Sony have admitted, despite tenacious denial, that rumble is indeed integral and necessary for the gaming experience.

It's not that Sony fans are excited about rumble. We're excited over the fact that Sony will combine motion sensing and next-gen rumble. It would not be a big deal if we got a controller with only rumble and no motion sensing capabilities.

I'm sure Phil Harrison made that statement. He does not speak for every PS3 owner, developer and other folks @ Sony. Could have just been his personal opinion ya know? DaddyDC650

Actually, it is. Phil Harrison's job as a representative to REPRESENT the opinion of the company.

That Sony chose someone who blabbers to much idiocy is Sony's problem.

For gamers, the news are really, really good. I really enjoy my rumble, and think it can be used very well - Table Tennis is an example. That the PS3 is getting it can only mean good things.

For Sony's PR department, though, it's hell. It basically destroys their credibility - they've been so vocal against rumble, both because it's "last gen" and because it's supposedly an hindrance to motion.

I take it you love the Wii remote then? Also what is 'next-gen' rumble? A tactical nuclear warhead is released everytime you hit a wall in Motostorm perhaps?

So once again Sony admits they were doing all wrong, screwing early PS3 adopters in the process.Wintry_Flutist
Screwing early PS3 adopters out of a controller is nowhere near as bad as screwing them out of HDMI and, 1080p when you look at the price tags on each.

Get off your lazy behind and work some extra hours and save up for a PS3. The time you spend here posting your could be working. A price drop is not going to happen in the near future. People are lazy and selfish.

thats exactly what sony told the world at E3. Guess u r one of the few who liked their statement. "want our overpriced garbage??? WORK HARDER, PWNED!!"

I know the Wii remote has both motion sensing and rumble features. I just dont like the layout of the controller for the type of games I play. The SIXAXIS has Sony's classic layout with both rumble and motion sensing. Best of both worlds fo rme. Btw, next-gen motion sensing is obviously more advanced that what the 360 and Wii offer. Look it up. You'll find the details in no time.

If you are not mad stop complaining..I agreed Phil should of watched his word for saying "rumble is last gen" but Sony was goin through a lawsuit with immersion..Its not like they planned not to put rumble in there from the start..its just the fact they cant do it due to legal issues..and now that they made up and i know Sony  got lots of demands from fans for rumble..what are Sony goin to do? bring it back ... one thing i know for sure is that if they didnt have problem with immersion we woud of see rumble in the ps3 controllers from the start..If you want us to be pissed off at sony for this its not goin to happen...The PS3 controllers getting rumble back is just postive news..

As usual, 1080p is achievable through component and VGA. So nobody was screwed out of that resolution.

Of course they're calling it that, it doesn't change the fact that they are putting rumble into the controller, after they said that rumble wasnt needed in games.

Thats true, I'm not saying that they shouldnt put rumble. I'm glad that they're putting some sort of rumble... or "next gen" rumble since I will get a PS3 when DMC4/MGS4 come out. But its just interesting to point out that they said rumble wasnt needed.

[QUOTE="MattBrian"]People don't realize Sony was in the middle of a lawsuit settlement all along, you have to understand that, we may never know the full details but at least people can be happy...they finally get that damn rumble..lolKaze_no_Mirai
Thats true, I'm not saying that they shouldnt put rumble. I'm glad that they're putting some sort of rumble... or "next gen" rumble since I will get a PS3 when DMC4/MGS4 come out. But its just interesting to point out that they said rumble wasnt needed.

oh ok sotrry i misunderstood you champ :)

i must admit i wonder what is the next-gen rumbling :)

Check out the first post. I included a small description and a link for "next-gen" rumble.

[QUOTE="Bgrngod"][QUOTE="DaddyDC650"][QUOTE="Bgrngod"][QUOTE="DaddyDC650"]You forget the fact that they not only settled the lawsuilt but also made a cooperative agreement with Immersion regarding the use of its advanced vibration technology. Wow! You're making yourself seem very foolish.DaddyDC650
Yeah, that same cooperative agreement could be used for racing wheels too.... Hardly foolish to not assume what hasn't been said.

I never said that Sony wouldn't eventually release a "vibrating racing wheel". I just wanted to bring up the fact that it'd be foolish to think that Sony won't release a SIXAXIS rumble controller.

I guess we just have to agree to disagree, because I think it is foolish to assume that they WILL release a rumble Sixaxis. This has nothing to do with whether or not I hope they do.

You're just being stubborn and fail to realize the fact that Sony WILL release a controller with rumble. It's cool though. We forgive you! Btw, why don't you create a thread stating your belief that Sony might NOT release a SIXAXIS controller with rumble and instead came to a multi-million dollar agreement with Immersion so they could one day release "vibrating steering wheels and vibrating dance pads." Let's see how many folks agree with your logic.

All I am saying is that the Sixaxis is hardly CONFIRMED!! (like the title of your thread says it is), nor is it a "Fact" that Sony will release a rumble Sixaxis. It's all still just speculation at this point.

It's pretty much confirmed. Just because Phil Harrison hasn't announced it doesn't mean that it's not confirmed. Take HOME for instance, it was confirmed a few days before GDC by Kotaku and the NY Times.

You clearly have no idea what confirmed means. Home was indeed confirmed, but has nothing to do with rumble so just leave it out of the topic. "Pretty much confirmed" = "Not confirmed"

[QUOTE="Silvereign"][QUOTE="juanfraino"]Now all the ps3 needs a lower price.console_fanboy

I actually worked longer hours so I could afford a PS3 at launch. It made me feel like I earned it more than I earned my 360. :D

Are you serious? Rumble HAS been confirmed by other sources. I was bringing up HOME as an example because you clearly are not "getting it". Stop posting your crazy logics about Sony signing a multi-million dollar deal with Immersion so they could release "vibrating dance pads and steering wheels". Almost anyone knows that SIXAXIS rumble is coming.

My only gripe with the PS3 was the lack of rumble.

Now it's a complete console in my eyes.

Where are these "other sources" that you speak of. I read the articles that you posted in your OP, and the ones you added later on. None of them say ANYTHING about confirming the Sixaxis will have rumble. Bringing up PSH has absolutely nothing to do with this discussion. Why are you citing that as an example of anything related to rumble? That makes no sense at all. "We look forward to working closely with them as we explore new and innovative ways to utilize this technology in PlayStation products." Throwing rumble into the Sixaxis would hardly be "new" or "innovative". That entire article is a typical PR "We got our @#$% handed to us from this lawsuit and decided that settling out of court was the best option." "Almost anyone knows that" the Sixaxis coudln't possibly have rumble AND motion sensing at the same time anyways.

This is coming from someone that thinks Sony signed a multi-million dollar deal with Immersion to create "vibrating dance pads and steering wheels". LoL! Give it up and realize the fact that RUMBLE IS COMING no matter what you might think. Get with the times dude. Btw, Phil Harrison admitted in an interview with IGN that he admitted that motion sensing and rumble did not mix only because Sony was involved with a lawsuit with Immersion. It was never true in the first place.

[QUOTE="The_Game21x"][QUOTE="Grandstreamer"][QUOTE="chrisdojo"][QUOTE="Grandstreamer"][QUOTE="Wintry_Flutist"]So once again Sony admits they were doing all wrong, screwing early PS3 adopters in the process.ragrdoll21
because its so hard buying a new controller....

hard or easy, that is sony milking more $$$ out of your pocket that you don't have after dumping $600 on the system. positive thing about having useless non-rumble sixaxis' ...... you can boomerang them.

because M$ milked so much money when they axed the Duke controller and gave us the S controller....

Last time I checked, the S controller didn't have any additional features that weren't present in the original...

What about the fact that you could actually hold the S-controller.

Well, you must have very small hands then because I had no problem holding the original Xbox controller when I got it at 14. Now I'm 19 and it's still very comfortable in my hands. Comfortable enough for me to call it the most comfortable controller of the three first party controllers last gen.

To date I have three controllers for my Xbox. Two Dukes and one thrid party Mad Catz controller which I never use becasue I prefer the Duke.

Before this event, cows said that rumble is "last-gen." They're gonna look like a whole bunch of hypocrites bragging about Sony's new-found rumble.

I said a rumble dance pad as a joke (because it seems kind of funny), not so much the steering wheel though. Obviously a sense of humor has been lost on you, or maybe it just wasn't that funny. They didn't signa multi-million dollar deal, they signed a $120 million SETTLEMENT.

Still not a fact the rumble is coming, just because you want it so bad, and there has been some speculation about it does not make it a fact. Get over yourself.

Oh and BTW: http://www.gamespot.com/news/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=25444270

The last sentence: "As such, they can't be completely dismissed as bogus--but they can't be taken as set in concrete either. " Which sums up exactly what I have been trying to say to you and you keep denying.
