Skyrim is a steam game, its impossible to play Skyrim on PC or PS3 atm if you are a pirate, 360 is a different story. If you see a PC Skyrim pirated version right now its impossible to play, if you did a search on google you would see NO CRACK for PC version, xbox360 you can play right away.
Easy to see by checking google, "NO CRACK YET, WAIT FOR STEAM RELEASE" means its not playable atm.

ahh so what your saying is that steam exists in real life...Bathesda softworks aren't the ones releasing the game in the retail channels on a disc in a game box...some how Steam drm exists in your real life unless you download steam into your brain you cannot possibly pick it up from retail stores gotcha  inreality the game was released for torrent sites for download a week ago.[QUOTE="kozzy1234"][QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"] um...the pc version of skyrim has been up on torrent for about a week now the full retail pc version but since one cannot post proof here since its a TOS violation I leave it up to you to look for it *you wont you'll just say but it hasn't been pirated yet* and the pc developer version was torrented about 6 weeks ago.kris9031998

....Doesnt MW3 also use steamworks....?Yup, neither is playable atm, Steamworks actualyl does work for DRM up until its release day or a few days later.
IMO more companies should use steamworks, I have seen many pirates and hackers pissed off on forums about PC games using steamworks, as they have to wait much longer to play it (sometimes week or month after release, though most the time just a few days). While on 360 you can play right away, for PC pirates will have to wait until us people who preordered the game get to play atleast, if not later.
Steam is one of the few DRM deals that I dont mind and that actually help a tad bit for piracy.

ahhh so I see your playing semantics Because its not cracked yet therefor its not been copied put up on torrent and no ones downloaded it right? *laughs* face it the game was released regardless of cracks the game is out there its available for people to download illegally and it was released to torrent sites a WEEK earlier then the 360 version.[QUOTE="kozzy1234"][QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"] um...the pc version of skyrim has been up on torrent for about a week now the full retail pc version but since one cannot post proof here since its a TOS violation I leave it up to you to look for it *you wont you'll just say but it hasn't been pirated yet* and the pc developer version was torrented about 6 weeks ago.WilliamRLBaker

Its a argument of semantics the game was released illegally to the public for free download it doesn't matter when they can play it matters that once again the pc has the highest piracy rate vastly more then the 360, ps3 or wii does. On PC the pirates have to wait until release day maybe even a day or two later. How is that not a big difference? Pirates are playing Skyrim already on xbox360, pirates wont be able to play the PC version of there pirated crap until WE THE PAYING CUSTOMERS get to play.
Does not stop piracy 100% but hey, atleast they stopped pirates for the next 9 days until release for steamwork games like Skryim, SR3 and MW3.

No it hasn't, a fake released was out 2-3 days ago, but it was... fake. But nice over exaggerating on every single part of your comment.lol and the pc version has been up for about a week and a half... and the developer pcversion was released like 6 weeks ago on torrent...

all I can say is this.
but you cannot play the pc version....So? If I go to a bank rob it and am notable to use the money for a few days because the police are looking for me doesn't mean a damn It still means I robbed a bank.
This game like every-game will be pirated more by the PC crowd. It's slightly harder to mod a console so it can play pirated game discs, than it is to download pc games off a site.
Vambran
Console only has to be modded once, then none of the games really have to be cracked, unlike pretty much EVERY pirated PC game which needs each games content modded in order for it to run, also rentals and used sales dont effect the PC market... :)
To the xbox 360 fanboy who keeps posting about Skyrim being released for PC, its actually a FAKE! Try Google, or an nfo site.
Oh and Lord of The Rings War in the North is also on torrent sites for 360 3 and 1/2 weeks before release...

But it hasn't. Lying about it to try and sway the focus of the thread from console piracy isn't going to work. Even if you happened to see it on some torrent site as you say, it doesn't mean that it was in actual fact Skyrim. Fact is, Skyrim on PC has not been leaked yet, alpha, beta or gold wise.I really can't understand that analogy. Someone help me out?all I can say is this.

Actually if you were to relate that to torrenting/pirating, you could've copied the bank's money, not be able to use it, and no cops would be comming after you.

robbing bank = downloading game
using money = cracking the downloaded game and playing it

Yeah I read it again after Chubbyguy quoted it. It's his typing I couldn't quite read right. Is Steam letting people pre-load the game yet? Those who've already paid for it?
I'm tempted to preorder but if they're not letting people pre-load it then the servers will be buttjammed at midnight 11/11/11 and it will take like 8 hours to download. Might as well just buy it from BB or GS if that's the case. Anyone know if they're letting ppl pre-load it yet???

And get your console banned from live.
