Sleeping Dogs GS Review 8.0

Few screenshots I took for Hi def graphics pack on PC version. This is not even maxed either, still looks amazing.

And now for two with some nice finishing moves :P

I was expecting higher. The game sounds awesome. If I can scrape some cash up I will get it after DSII.

The city is unique I must say.

We never have Sandboxes with cities like this. Mainly because 90% of them are based in 'Murica.

I like the looks of that, can't remember the last time I played a good sandbox game set in a non-American city...

Will probably be having dreams of this game tonight haha. Its been a blast so far the first 3-4 hours.

If it's exclusive yeah and also this game didn't have a hype thread or as much buzz as most games so no one expected much really. So it's a success as far as Im concerned

about what I expected. I'll probably still check it out, but it seems like it's a mix of shenmue and yakuza, but with simpler mechanics and a cheesier story.Some-Mist

The mechanics are not simpler then Yakuza or Shenmue... And the story is also alot better then teh Yakuza games imo.

I don't get it sometimes.

I agree with the score.

But It just seems like the review was nothing but praise and an 8.0.

It's like hearing you have to lose an arm. It just doesn't make sense at first until you play it.

Yakuza games are pretty lame anyway, they're not very fun after a while.

Also Sleeping Dogs seems to have a very fleshed out combat system, not just punches and kicks but actual full combos

I actually enjoy Shenmue and Yakuza series, but this combat DESTROYS the combat in Yakuza, its not even close. If there is one thing it does WAY better its combat (and story to).

The only combat that is better then Sleeping Dogs that I have ever played is the Batman series, this is next best.

Maybe try playign the game first before trashing it, kids these days I tell ya

Countless previews stated it has Batman's combat and the devs themselves cite it as an inspiration for it. Big deal. The gaming world is full of copying. What IS new is having such rich deep and fun combat in an open world game. Compare the combat in this to a game of similar size like GTA IV and you will see how innovative it is

I probably should purchase the game due to my love for the subject matter but it just irks me why a cop would want to kill in such brutal ways. If you could choose to avoid brutality and just fisty-cuff your way like Arkham City I would be more inclined. Part od the reason why LA Noire appeals to me a lot.
