It was such an aweosme ending... definaly one of the most unrated games from last gen :(

 how can u cry for video game ending?

While I didn't cry at the end of MGS3 or any other game, perhaps if you had played the game you would understand why some people get emotional while experiencing it.

the story was amazing

but the gameplay felt like a step backwards to me .. i guess it was meant to, considering it's a prequel to the other MGSs

things like limited silencers, and battery power, and so much jungle started to irritate me a bit

akif22

How is that a step back? I thought it made things more interesting and challenging with is always good.

[QUOTE="NavigatorsGhost"][QUOTE="Adrian_Cloud"]The controls were never bad, its clearly a developer decision and gamers would just have to adjust. Similar to RE4 the controls aren't typical for games in that genre.

In the MGS series it goes..MGS>MGS3>MGS2. But MGS2 had the most refined gameplay. MEtal Gear Solid 3 was a unique experience, not much to say besides that. YOu won't find another game like a MGS game.

Adrian_Cloud

um yeah, the controls were bad. In MGS2 for example you would have to hold 1 button to keep your gun out, 1 button to keep the current view and then press a third button when you wanted to fire your pistol.

And calling it a "developer decision which gamers have to adjust to" is a retarded statement. Guess what? Developers come up with crappy controls in games all the time. They are not beyond fault simply because its a "developer decision". All control schemes are "developer decisions" anyway.

:| How is that a crappy statement, several of my friends are like RE4 is so stupid you have press O or [] to run.. this is lame.

How is absolving a developer of any wrongdoing for creating a poor control scheme simply because its a "developer decision", not a dumb statement?

If a control scheme sucks, it sucks. It doesn't matter how much effort the developer put into it. If the players don't care for it, guess what? The developer failed.

I just finished Snake Eater last night (yes I know, late to the party) but it was such an amazing game, I figured I should make a post about it. I have never shed a tear in a game before, but last night I did. It was a single tear, yes, but I still cried. Make fun of me at your own will, but it's just a testament to how powerful the ending to that game was.

After seeing that I have to wonder, how many other games will do that to me? I now feel like every game I play I will want to leave with the same feeling as I did when I turned off Snake Eater. The answer is simple: Guns of the Patriots. Playing Snake Eater made me realize that the only game that will make me feel like that again will be MGS4. I am officially craving the final chapter of MGS. :)

So, who else cried? :D

NAPK1NS

Losing testosterone already with your early male menopause?

jk, Actual it was a good game, I've played all of them but the first.

There are a lot of game experiences that just aren't your typical run of the mill stereotype experience.. like COD4, Call of Duty, Dynasty Warriors, Kane and Lycnh, Prince of PErsia.

Well in Call of Duty the music could make you cry, Its so patriotic.

I really like the Russian national athem music when you win online.

I have never been so pissed off an enraged at a game than after this first chapter in the Darkness.

The story really carried that game.

Agreed. After playing Subsistence I didn't think I can go back to the camera angles of Snake Eater and Sons of Liberty.

What did you think of the online?

The online was top notch, the best on the PS2.

MGS3 is one of my favourite games/stealth games of all time. I felt it had one of the best stories I experienced in a game.

But I didn't cry, but I have to say I finished the games at least 5 times and I always hesitate when I have to pull the trigger.

I also cried. But I cried about 15 minutes into the game. That was when I realized that the MGS franchise was dead to me. MGS on the PS1 was the only one that really stuck out to me. I loved that game so much I played through twice to get everything. MGS 2 was confusing and disappointing to say the least. If I get a PS3 (which I probably will) it will not be for MGS4.
