So, apparently Sony is going to buy Take-Two Interactive

Because, you know, 20 billion dollars is chump change. If this goes down, it's arguably a much better catch than the whole Activision thing. Take-Two actually has good games.

All I can say is, Sony better put those good games on PC.

I dunno. I give so little shit about any games made by ABK and Take-Two that these aquisitions are just funny to me. Looking at casual gamers and fanboys going wild is entertaining.

The 2K one bothers me. I like my Xcom, Civ, and Midnight Suns free for everyone to play. Maybe if it happens I won't have to make a work around to bypass 2K's shitty launcher for every game from them, but that takes 2 seconds to do, and I'd rather do that than cut off people from playing Fraxis's great games.

T2 is worth 20B right now so why would they sell themselves for just 20B? You always have to pay a premium on top of the market value. Sony will easily be looking at ~30B for the acquisition and do they even have enough money to pull it off?

Wildly hypocritical, but what can you expect from a big corporation like Sony, and deserves to be shot down for the same reasons the Activision sale should.

It is stupid and of course this is going to happen if the Activision deal goes through. It's why I and other have been crying foul for MS doing this in the beginning!

What else can Sony do if MS can buy these huge publishers like Bethesda and Activision? This isn't like buying Insomniac or Ninja Theory, these are HUGE third party publishers responsible for a large percent of published content in the games industry.

This really shouldn't be allowed to happen in the first place.

AB was worth around 30 billion when MS offered 70 billion.

Shareholders have to approve it, and well, there's a good chance that MS would also be interested in bidding on Rockstar.

There is also the thing with regulators. All these regulators came down hard on MS, when they're far behind, and market share is 70% to 30% in favor of Sony. I find it hard to believe regulators would be so forgiving when the market leader tries to buy a big developer.

This is so bad, and no matter what happens with these corporate behemoths, we lose.

These large third party publishers used to publish their games on your system for free.
