So BioShock is going to outsell MP3.. Will MP3 even sell a Million copies?

Kinda crazy when you think about it..

a brand new IP outselling a game with 20+ years of history..

What's wrong about this picture?

Wiiplay-2,263,966 copies sold

Mario Party 8-1,244,847 copies sold

MP3-440,000 copies sold..

EDIT: Also, Bioshock is PC + 360, AND MP3 is only out in the US. So obviously Bioshock will have higher sales.

What Metroid has been out for... 2 weeks? And yet you compare it to two games that have been out for months.

Well that's nice isn't it since there are virtually 0 360's sold in Japan. Unlike Bioshock MP3 will actually sell in Japan. The number of systems sold 360 vs Wii are about the same in Europe.

Considering MP3 has only been out 2 weeks alot.

Sales figures of Bioshock on VHchartz is the 360 version the PC sales arent even listed.

Metroid Prime 3 only came out 1 week after Bioshock, but during the 2 weeks it was out it sold more than bioshock those 2 weeks.

Comparing Metroid to mario party and wii play is dumb because Mario Party is from May and Wii play is from what march and its bundled with a controller.

Metroid Prime has only launcheed in the US and is almost at 500k. Expect the game to hit 1 million in the US alone. Japan and Europe will give this game enough love to get the game to 1.5-2 million IMO.

No. The casual gamers that make a large part of the wii installed base cant handle, and dont really want to try, a game like MP3.

They buy party games for cheesy yupi parties in the suburbs.

Lack of marketing? There was a whole channel on the Wii dedicated to MP3. And as I've said twice, MP3 came out a week later and has outsold Bioshock both weeks since release.

Bioshock doesnt have insane marketing either. Most of bioshocks sales I bet are through crazy good reviews and word of mouth. I know everytime I talk to a buddy lately and they ask me if any games are out worth playing ( only hardcore gamer amonst my friend) I tell them about bioshock.

20+ years or not... Metroid has NEVER been one of Nitnendo's top sellers. So far it's selling more than both the previous prime games. :)

I have played both Metroid Prime 3 and Bioshock. Bioshock will be remembered more in the end, while Metroid Prime 3 will be remembered as the last in the excellent Prime series. Both are great and are basically equal to me.

Original story telling? The whole story of Bioshock was told through a radio! You never talked to anyone face to face. And I can't get over the fact the climax was in the middle of the freaking game. I loved MP3 and thought it was much more fun than Bioshock, and it took more than two afternoons to beat.

I cant think of another game that paced the story and action that well.

And the setting and enemys were all more powerfull.

Using a radio to comm with major characters was a good thing. a way to tell the story and not break the action at all. along with picking up the audio diarys of the residents of rapture the story telling never stopped and neither did the action.

Total number is total number as it stands now. I could just easily say more people wanted it right away and use that as some sort of measure to say its better.

MP3 game but a predictable journy on the wii.Wtih predictable and stale characters.

Nintendo doesntgive us new gameplay. A new way to swing your sword is NOT NEW GAMEPLAY. its the same old game with a new control system.

A good gamer knows the most important thing about a games control is how much you spend thinking about the controls.

Nintendo is hiding behind same old same old gameplay and storys with a newway to play through them.

Pressa button or flick your wrist game play is in the games not the controls.

MP3 is a good game. Evena great game. But it canthold bioshocks jock strap.

Hmm well Bioshock came out before; it was released on two systems; MP3 is yet to come out in japan or in Europe. Ohh and Bioshock is the spiritual sucessor to System Shock...
