All? you could never actually prove that, but i think you just think that because the crazy fanboys are always the most vocal members of SW so it just seems like all of em did. I personally didnt like KZ2, and traded it in for Infamous, and i prefer Halo 3 over it by alot, but still its unfair to throw the entrie playstation fanbase in with the crazies.
There have been months since Killzone 2 was released, and I think it's time to answer the question: - did killzone 2 murder Halo 3? It was for so long hyped to put an end to one of consoles most popular iconic fpss', to bury the Halo name and become the new king of FPS, to own the FPS crown and laugh at all other FPS slaves. So, did it happen? is halo dead and buried? What's your opion, yes or no, and why/why not? Is killzone 2 the new FPS king, above all else?SchoolThing
Most people didn't hype KZ2 to be a Halo Killer but just a solidFPS for the PS3 which I think it suceededat.

It didn't kill Halo, but I think it certianly crippled it. How else to explain the last Halo game flopping and the lukewarm (at best) reaction from people who have played ODST?

I don't see what this proves. It's a blog written by a single individual.
Read the freakin' post.I did, so what's your point?
"Early reviews are very positive (a 97% on metacritic!),with reviewers citing both the visuals and the gameplay...but is Killzone 2 going to kill Halo?"
I was around these forums long before Killzone 2 being released and saw the hype. Only a few die-hard fans hyped it above Halo.

No. Everybody who disliked Halo wanted it to destroy Halo, and assume the role of Most Overrated Console FPS. PC Gamers, especially. The word 'halo' has become sickening.No. KZ2 is boring, forgettable, and everything else that goes along with such a mediocre experience. It got a 9.0 for being a beautiful and absolutely lifeless FPS, sadly.

That's a pretty wide brush your tarring with there isn't it? I'm a PC gamer and Halo isn't sickening to me. It's a great FPS game for consoles.
Halo killer hasn't been used since last gen really, and considering how different Killzone 2 is it wasn't even compared to halo in most gaming circles (at least professional ones not full of fanboys). Killzone did sell successfully, get wide acclaim, and have a great score, although I myself feel its too full of things wrong in the gaming industry, no splitscreen, pricey DLC, no co-op, and no customizable control scheme. Still, what it does it does right, and most every PS3 gamer I know has played it.
So it hasn't killed Halo, but it could very well be considered the PS3's Halo considering its popularity among the hardcore and casual and it being a shooter.

How do you compare an RTS to an FPS? Besides HW scored well eslewhere anyway. And what I've reactions I've heard from ODST have actually been very good.[QUOTE="abuabed"]Only fanboys talk about X game killing Y game, and no game should kill another game in any term possible. If you like it then enjoy it if you don't then don't freaking bash it.vashkeyYou forgot, this is system wars. Oh, damn, I thought I was in PS3 forums :P

Did anyone actually expect a RTS to be good on a console?Wait, what? Halo 3 play like Call of Duty? Halo 3 play pretty similar to Halo: Combat Evolved which came out a couple of year prior to the original Call of Duty. And since then Halo really hasn't picked up anything from Call of Duty although Call of Duty itself really hasn't pioneered any sort of game play mechanics, so you really couldn't say any game plays like Call of Duty.i don't think is that people like killzone over halo
is about if both of em play like CALL OF DUTY
thats the reason ps3 owner don't play kz2, they don't like the controls etc
thtas what killed the zone

I don;t know whats with the aggressive fanboys from both sides, but both games are good games, and you can't really compare Halo 3's score to Killzone's when they are 2 years apart and on the other spectrum of the CoD4 release (which likely impacted everything in shooters after its release). My only complaint for either is that Killzone 2 should have been a bit more focused on co-op and split screen then graphics (although I will admit it is the most beautiful console game out there right now) and Halo 3 was a bit too much like Halo 2, and much too short.
