So....... ...did Killzone 'kill' Halo?

Nope, it did live up to its graphical hype, multiplayer surpassed it's hype but... Single player.. Is something I would rather forget about.

I do think they are vastly different, Halo was much less concentrated on the tech for the game (although that much was obvious), and focused more on 4 player co-op, splitscreen, story etc. Killzone on the other hand, focused on things like graphics, online player count, glitch control, etc.

While Killzone is a much more technically impressive game, its more geared on the tactical side of things and Halo is more focused on the quick, MC style of play, which reminds me, I was insanely angry Guerilla did not offer 4 player co-op or even basic 2 player, and did not bring back split screen. Seriously, why?

Anyways they are different games, you can't really compare cheesecake with steak and say one is better than the other.

Does anyone still talk about Killzone? Not really. Does anyone still talk about Halo? Yeah. And that's not just ODST I'm talking about, people always talk about Halo. It didn't do a thing. Though I always heard people asking if KZ could kill Halo. I think that's ridiculous. It looks like a really good FPS game and I think people should just play it and enjoy it for it what it is, the same for Halo. Also, I don't think the devs ever really hyped up Killzone 2 to be a Halo-killer.

The last time a thread like this popped up, someone said something along the lines of:

1: Killzone 2 did not kill Halo 3

2: Halo 3 does not need to be killed

3: Killzone 2 is a good game in it's own right which it's scores reflect.

Nah, Modern Warfare triumphed over Halo ;). Not killed it, but basically snatched the attention away from a lot of shooter fans. Killzone 2...honestly, I have no idea what's up with it. It's a pretty good game, but not enough people seem to care about it :(. DethSkematik

It didn't kill Halo, but I think it certianly crippled it. How else to explain the last Halo game flopping and the lukewarm (at best) reaction from people who have played ODST?

No, but it has an very large online fanbase and provided a genuinely decent single player experience. Better than most shooters these days :o
