So Gears of War cant be done on PS3?

textures and character models couldn't be done. yes uncharted has great textures but it is lacking technically.

it means that you can make the game look really good but you water down most other aspects to achieve that level of visual fidelity. ie uncharted's weak character models, no splitscreen, no online, no coop, 4 enemies on screen, corridor "jungles". but sure the leaves and water look pretty if you tone down everything else.

I have yet to see a game on either platform that I felt could not be done on the other one.SpruceCaboose

anyone who only takes 1 reviewers opinion on a games is, no offense, quite stupid. yeah these board has these little "rules" but i honestly dont care. i dont judge games by 1 review. lair got 9's, pdz got 9, zelda tp scored less than assassin's creed. so yeah you can claim "ownage " all day i dont care. and i've already played mgs4, worst purchase i ever made.

It's amazing how cows change their tune once GS scores one of their beloved (HIGHLY overrated) franchises so high. I'm wondering where all those cows went to that called Gamespot "Lemmingspot" before. Seems as if they don't feel that way anymore. Here's the truth cows, MGS4 is a pile that ONLY scored as high as it did mainly due to hype. Same thing happend with Halo3 and only a blind fanboy would say otherwise. You don't have to look too far in order to find videos showing off some SERIOUS flaws gameplay wise that sould've kept it from scoring an obsured 10. MGS4 is not perfect. In fact, no game is or will ever be. MGS4 should've scored no higher then a 9 here and you know it as well as many others.Nedemis

As much as I think MGS4 is not a 10, it is hardly "a pile" as you put it. And again, a 10 does not represent a perfect game.

I don't take any review besides my own as "real". But we are on GameSpot's forum, and as such, it is the final say on the games on these forums.

By GS old standards, yes it does. While it may not be a pile, it's hardly something revolutionary or even something great. MGS4's AI is an absolute joke and one would think that with all this praise about BR by Kojima, he'd at least used a VERY small portion of that for AI. As it stands, I have yet to see a game as bad as it in that department. Army of Two is VERY close, but it's laughable how sites such as GS could've over looked such a serious over sight. Especially in a game that's praised for it's story and gameplay. Nedemis

And MGS4 is a great game. Maybe not to you, maybe not to me, but it is. It is also a huge step forward for games as a story-telling vehicle.

And the AI has quirks, but overall, the AI is fairly solid.

Any game that could be done on 360 can be done on PS3, and vice versa. The specs of the systems are so close it's obvious that they are equal. The major difference between the two is the manner in which they handle shaders. Other than that, I would say 360/PS3 games have models with same poly count and textures that are the same resolution.

It all comes down to the mix of HDR lighting, bump/normal mapping, and blur filters the devs choose to implement.

The PS3 has 2 pools of Ram. 256 for Memory and 256 for graphics. However the PS3 can pull ram from the memory pool and use it in graphics. Hence using what ever it needs.
