The GAMING division of Sony is doing FINE.
It would be stupid for them to force charge a fee, ESPECIALLY if it was anywhere close to microsofts fee.
[QUOTE="gensigns"][QUOTE="finalstar2007"]Not as mad as the SNE stockholders! They be REAL mad! They are actually happy! http://www.wikinvest.com/wikinvest/api.php?action=viewNews&aid=3477981&page=Stock%3ASony_%28SNE%29&format=html&comments=0 PS4 is a go, day 1 buy, no charge for online either. It will always be free
you mad troll? :D
Heil68
Are you insane? You realize it's down almost by half in the last year.
but but but but I thought sony never fired any one, or closed down studios, or delayed titles, or charged their customers for anything...atleast thats what cows led me to believe.Online fees? Selling off studios?
This sounds familiar.
Pug-Nasty
It's a selling point for the PS3, so probably not in its' lifetime.
But the PS4 will probably have a monthly fee.
SW__Troll
That's what I think.
Is sading to see people think that online console multiplayer need to be paid to be good because Xbox Live is paid.... MS hold on your balls
Someone's jelly they have to pay $50 to unlock their "multiplayer" achievement. :)ispeakfactCheevo whores.
PSN+ seems like an utter failure, but I still think it's a conditioning tool to get people used to the idea of having to pay. Most likely features will be updated strictly through it and then a super introductory sale will take place.
I think standard PSN will be stripped or unsupported so a pricing scheme can be implemented without officialy naming it an onlive fee.
And you know what it´s funny? It´s not like the TC is non fanboy poster who really cares about the financial situation in Sony and it is giving some solutions to them.Wow, been a very long time since lems asked that.
Chutebox
It´s because it will be ownage to RIP OFF Ps users like LIVE.
Instead of asking MS to change their revenue structure, they pray other companies start doing the same sh!t
and PC gaming does the same as live and better! If Sony does that, I will play only mp games for the PC. No way I am paying for that!
I wouldn't say cows are cheap. Just less willing to bend over and take a stiff one like lemmings do. Hell lemmings seems to want to hand them the lubricant and say thank you once they finish.Oh c'mon, there was a bit of truth in my post but mostly said tongue in cheek but you get all buthurt and lash out with such nonsense. :?[QUOTE="AmazonTreeBoa"][QUOTE="SecretPolice"]
Sony really coulda used those extra funds this gen that a PSN subscription fee would have delivered. :o
If only cows weren't so cheap, Sony would be in much better financial standing today.
SecretPolice
Anyhoo, thank you sir, may I have another ?
LOL butthurt....hardly son. Just telling it like it is and based on your response, I would say you are the one that is butthurt. But if it helps sooth your pain, by all means continue calling me butthurt all you want. Doesn't change what I said. You do realise that it costs next to nothing to let people play online for FREE right? All your doing is using YOUR OWN internet as badnwidth and connecting to another person's connection (the Host) or the other way around sometimes (if your the Host). All XBL is doing is charging you twice for the same thing, you pay for your internet each month, and then you pay again just so MS will let you have access to your internet on games that you just bought, they basically lock out your MP on your game.
It costs nothing to have FREE online gaming, and it makes your system more attractive to the consumer. I'm sorry your getting ripped off and everyone else isn't. If this bothers you (which by making this thread clearly shows it does) then either cancel your your Live subscription or just buy a PS3.

You think it costs $0 to run XBL and PSN?
Who the heck wants to pay monthly fees? Especially when you can get them for free elsewhere.Nobody WANTS to pay, but companies aren't going to give things away for free. Even if Sony does start charging money to play online it's not really a big deal. You got to have money to be invested in gaming, and 4-5 bucks a month is nothing.[QUOTE="FlamesOfGrey"][QUOTE="Bigboi500"]
What's the matter, you to broke to pay monthly fees? Damn I get sick of kids complaining about prices here. :(
Bigboi500
It's a matter of principles. Im not paying for something that i can get for free elsewhere.

Also, if people speak with their wallet and don't buy into the service, the company would have to rethink their strategy.[QUOTE="ShadowMoses900"]

It costs virtually nothing to let people play their games over their own internet connection. p2p doesn't really cost anything, dedicated servers do though. Which ironically PSN has MORE games with dedicated servers than XBL (which is almost always p2p).
You Lems sure do get what you pay for huh? ;)

Do you think it costs $0 to run Amazon?
No but it's their own expense related to running a store on the internet.
2 consoles connecting over the internet is not a service of Xbox Live.

literally. I want to read comments of all opinions, but his aren't even opinions He has a blog (don't bother) where he admits all he's doing is trolling. I appreciate that he knows he's a waste of time, but he doesn't seem able to mature to the point where he knows he's a waste of time and then stops being a waste of time. Nothing personal against him, but he does it deliberately so he shouldn't get his feelings hurt by me calling him out on it.

That'd be a wonderful analogy if both Amazon and XBL provided the same services
That is it. I wish they all could annoy more succinctly.there is little point typing a long paragraph

As for his blog, he called me a liar recently and we went back and forth. I like to look people up in those situations to see if they're full of crap.
The short version is: A friend of his died so now he feels like it's okay to treat everyone on here like crap and act like a bully.

Amazon provides more services than XBL.
Remember, peer to peer networking is not a service.
It is your choice to continue being ripped off, but don't lecture me about what it costs to run a service.
PSN has 150+ dedicated servers for games.
XBL has very few.
Would you rather blab on the mic or have a lag free connection.
I know what's more valuable to me.

Ok, well call me the day when the ONLY FEATURE of XBL is playing games online. Perhaps I'll agree with you.
And if you can provide a source for your numbers that'd be nice too.
IF you get POM or whatever the official magazine is they state that they will (almost definitely) charge next gen. Look in the issues from last spring (2011), it was in one of the articles in the front.
Keep in mind that Sony doesn't care about system wars, neither does Microsoft. TO them it's just whats financially viable, they don't look at it like it's a club.

Then they should charge for the services they actually provide, rather than the services that your ISP provides.
Do you think it's justifiable to charge a fee to access your Netflix account?
Here is a link for you to read :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PSN
I wont have a problem with monthly fee fees if more games have dedicated servers i don't understand why i should pay for p2pmetal_zombieBuh bu but the rich and innovative online experience only XBL can bring!
Dude is that owl eating something, BAA im going to have nightmaresWhen they can actually keep your credit card info safe.
DireOwl
This, I know a guy that sold his 360 for a PS3 because he enjoys online and uses it, but not enough to justify paying for it.PSN+ already exists.
It's whether they will start charging for online play, and I think they'll fight to keep that feature free. It's a selling point over the competition at the end of the day.
