So i finally played Final Failtasy

The game reeks

The characters are emo, the graphics are horrible, the plot is ridicolous, the gameplay is disgusting, the voice acting is hilarous, the storyline makes you wanna watch plan 9 from outer space and enjoy it, hat guy heaven or w.e his name is is crap. How can anybody enjoy these games?

The better question is, How can anyone like Cat Food?

The only FF games were amazing. The new ones...not so much.

Wasn't as bad as the one the other day. Someone said they didn't like FF8 because it was a horrible sequal. Said it had nothing at all to do with FF7 and none of the same characters were in it at all.

You make an excellent point. How could I have enjoyed such a terrible series all these decades? And I honestly had no idea the game was "emo". If I HAD known you could rest assured that I never would have gotten into its characters, story, combat mechanics, levelling, secret finding, summon collecting world. Because someone calling FF "emo" trumps ALL those things.

Now if you will excuse me, I'm going to go build a time machine, travel back to the day I first played FF, and tell my younger self that FF is "emo" and so I shouldn't play it.

Final Fantasy 13 is a make or break for the series. If it is anything like 12, I see no reason to give any future entries in the series any more than a rent.TheSystemLord1

I agree I watch both of the extended trailers all the time, especially the versus one. But there only CG trailers

I didnt like FF too much. More of a star ocean guy myself :P I like the fighting style of Star Ocean. I wish more RPG's had it. FF was kind of slow for me.

i loved star oceans till the end of time on the ps2....that had one of my favorite battle systems ever....but i expect ffxiii to introduce a modified ffxii battle system

oh ya man. both star oceans were amazing. the 2nd one was very good too. I had the best time on both of those games. I still go back and play them :)

Apparently you weren't gaming when FFVII first came out (VI wasn't a clear-cut above the rest, but was great for the SNES). VII was definitely the best looking PS1 game when it was first released, and so was VIII, IX was great, but wasn't much better than VIII. When X came out, it was the best looking ps2 game. XII is still the best looking ps2 game available (imo). I'm, of course, talking about in game graphics. However, yes, Square/Squenix has also always been the best at the CG cutscenes since FFVII and have always set new standards for games.

As far as I remember, the main party of 4 characters that you choose in Final Fantasy didn't talk, but its been awhile since I have played because my Nintendo is broken.

Im guessing your under the age of 12 because unless you dont understand the storyline you cant not like the games. Even if you feel the games arnt that fun the storys are amazing. I grew up with these games, i used to watch my Sis play when i was like 10 and now many many years later going back and playing FF7, FF8, FF9, & FFX Brings back those days of nostalgia. Its really a great experience to feel whenever the music of Final Fantasy beings to play.

Anyways though what one did you play? I played 10, 12 and Crystal Chronicles and i found em all quite sucky...

But i must say, FF7 CC is the greatest handheld game ive ever played right next there to MGS PO and Syphon Filter Logans Shadow.

I've only played FF7. I saw the FF13 and Versus trailers and I knew there were millions of fans so i figure why not give it a shot. I liked it, I wouldnt say like omg greatest of all time etc. but it was a good game. I played like 5 minutes of FFX at a friends house when it came out so i dont remember anything from it, i'd like to try it out and see if its good.

I used to HATE RPG's because you could never do your own moves, you were picking moves and it just felt boring, but Pokemon changed that and I realized the strategy of it, same thing with FF7.

The only thing I absolutely hated about FF7 (and pokemon too) was random battles. It's so dam annoying, Pokemon it serves a purpose kind of atleast you can catch them, but I HATE when you have to do random battles a million times just to get your level up and stuff, its way too annoying to me.

No, the old ones freaking sucked! I'm referring to the NES and SNES era. If you are talking about the PS1 era, starting with Final Fantasy VI or VII, then you're right.

Final Fantasy III DS is one of my least favorite games of all time. I can't decide if it is number 1, though. Animal Crossing: Wild World and Rampage: Total Destruction give it quite the challenge.
