its a sony exclusive. until it appears on a platform not owned by sony its a sony exclusive. technically its no longer a ps3 exclusive though

So I guess a lot of those 360/PC games are MS exclusives then. I think I like your logic!

It is an exclusive game. The games are completely different. It is the same as new super mario bros ds and wii.

if its not the same game and merely a spinoff or a similar game in the same universe than yes its still exclusive. i thought it was the same game pretty much.

LBP is still PS3 exclusive. LBP PSP is PSP exclusive. There are no Sony exclusives, MS exclusives, or Ninty exclusives.

No. It has its own levels, and user generated content. It is 2 planes instead of 3. It doesn't have the million user generated levels, or the same story mode. They are completely different games.

some do but its still not the same thing. you buy a license from MS to use windows. outside of that they have no control unlike 360 or zune (provided the zune HD paves the way for games). they can set standards and do whatever they want. if they wish to charge $99 per 360 game they can. if they want to have it so yo ucan only play 360 games on a tuesday they can. if they want to require all 360 games have kangaroos in them they can. not with windows as a gaming platform they have no say. and if it wasnt for DX being windows only more and more companies would be producing open source OS games.

MS gets no money out of you buying a game from them. Really that is the biggest reason why it doesn't make any sense that it is a microsoft exclusive. All the money goes to the publisher/developer. Lets say a ds and wii game. 5 $ of the game goes to nintendo for that stupid seal of approval. Same with xbox360 3rd party sales and ps3 3rd party sales. It really hurts the consumer big time and the reason why games cost 60 $.

Thats like asking if MKWii is exclusive because MKDS is similer. There is enough of a diference to say they are both exclusives. Not to mention the psp version is being made by a different dev.

And Sony does the hardware for some of the computers. It's been beaten to death, MS doesn't own or control the PC.

As for this thread, LBP PSP has no online play, has two level planes, and has sharper controls. It's different. I don't understand why we can't just call them two seperate games instead of calling them the same game on different platforms because its clear that there are a list of differences that differentiates the two significantly.

No. I've been saying (with about 10 other people) that it is a completely different game and they are exclusive. The people who are saying it is a sony exclusive or microsoft exclusive don't know one thing about the game.

ok. Mass effect on the pc wasnt published by MS.

if MS owns the game then yes its an MS exclusive in a sense. just like for instance if GT5 came to the pc (there were rumors) then itd not longer be a ps3 exlcusive but itd still be a sony exclusive since sony last time i checked owns that franchise.

back to ME MS doesnt own the franchise EA does.

Rather or not it makes money (which you don't have any proof to) is not the point. Those games that say "Games for Windows" are exclusive to Microsofts operations systems. They don't run on any other OS (without hacks) and so far Microsofts gaming devision contiunues to post profits which includes "Games for Windows"

Okay what made mario kart ds different than mario kart wii. Different stages. Guesss what this has different user created content (you know the 1 million user levels they aren't in the psp) it has different story levelss (you know the 30 levels in the ps3 version don't exist in the psp version). They are completely different games. You are really really need to read what I say.

GFW is different. MS owns some of the games in that catagory like Gears of war and halo 2. other than that it doesnt make anything. MS didnt make money from Crysis, nor supreme commander nor fallout 3. they dont own the platform end of story.

I know this for a fact. I looked this information up. It is the main reason why consoles sell less than it costs to make.

[QUOTE="CakeBalls"]SUMMARY - company exclusives don't exist - this for the 2 or 3 people claiming that they do. - LBP and LBP PSP are two DIFFERENT games and are EXCLUSIVE to each platform.washd123

company exclusives exist. if it can only be found on a platform owned by a company or if the company owns the franchise then yes, its x company exclusive.

The Agency - A MMO being developed for the PS3 and PC by Sony. Does this mean that PC games can be Sony exclusive too?

[QUOTE="mitu123"][QUOTE="iamshivy"] yeah i know it's pretty funny

I'm still waiting to see why it's exclusive, and no one(not even cows) gave enough reasons either.

Ok, I see that they are different, but I'm referring to MLB 09 The Show in that post(like what II-FBIsniper-II and sexxxyboy said).

[QUOTE="Trmpt"][QUOTE="washd123"]

its two different things though. sony owns and collects royalties from both platforms. they have full control over the platforms. MS doesnt. the pc is a term for the hardware. windows is an OS which is just software. they have no control over the games they dont make money from the games. i dont feel like expalining it again read my post on the last page.

CakeBalls

Then take into account the games that are published by MS.

Publishing means nothing in terms of exclusivity, Sony also makes PC games. Does that mean that those are Sony exclusive?

Yes, yes it does...1 game that comes to mind is Ever Quest and Planet Side...They don't have the WIndows requirement. You don't need Microsoft to play the games

Joke right? its still a Sony Exclusive

robertmac_33

Are we to now incoporate the term exclusive to the console and handheld companies you can only find them on?

So i'd be justified in saying that both Mario and Zelda are not exclusives?

No, you would not be justified saying that.

if its a game/franchise that can only be found on platforms owned by that company why not?

I'm not exactly disagreeing with you, just letting you know majority of SW usuals don't agree with that thinking.

technically yes. so is vangaurd saga of heros. and everquest. sony owns them. doesnt mean the same thing though as being a sony exlcusive in the sense its only on a platform made by sony. it all depends on context.
