Yes, developers don't want to spend extra time fiddling around with the tablet gimmick. Look what happened with Borderlands 2, Randy Pitchford said he couldn't think of a compelling way to use the tablet, so they aren't releasing a Wii U verison. All the multiplats the Wii have gotten seem to worse than they are on PS3/360

Holy fudge brownies. I was totally just came here to start this exact same thread, using this exact same image, and lo-and behold it's right at the top of the page.
Nintendo is pretty much cursed to always have bad third party support, and it's only going to keep getting worse. All the big publishers know that they will have to abandon it when the more powerful systems come along anway, so a lot of them aren't even bothering to support it with current-gen multiplats. The market for the Wii-U is tiny compared to the other systems, so there's not much point of investing in it at this point.
They might sell an extra 50k-100k copies of new releases over the next few months, but when they switch gears and start developing from the ground up on the PC, Xbox 720 and PS4, there will be no sense in going through all the effort of making a special scaled-down version for the Wii-U. They tried that for a while on the Wii, and it was more trouble than it was worth, so it looks like this time they are opting out of the Wii-U right from the start.
Once again, Nintendo has made a system that will end up only being good for playing the games Nintendo publishes themselves, and as I have ever since I stopped buying Gamecube games, I question why they are even in the console race anymore.
Likely so, but this is a bit pre-mature. Maybe wait until the console is out for a year? Or at least a couple of months? lol

They intentionally did it. For a system that sells for $350 you can get a lot better tech inside if you wanted. Nintendo designed the WiiU to be a 1st-party haven with massive profits on hardware. They want to stifle the competition.
Sheep should be happy with 1/10 of third party they're getting because when ps4/720 is out, WiiU will have less support from 3rd party than Wii did. Why? Cuz no one wants to downgrade games a whole gen graphically AND WiiU will be faaaaaaar from Wii sales.
Zelda WiiU is gonna hafta be the best game of ALL TIIIIME to sell this clunker of a system. Even if it is I still won't buy one...

Reminds me of the NES days when they told their third-party publishers that they could only publish 4 NES games a year each. The only real tentpole titles it has for 2013 are Pikmin 3 and Bayonetta 2, and both of those are cult favorites, not system sellers. Whatever they announce/reveal at E3, we're likely not going to see it until 2014 and beyond knowing Nintendo's history with release dates. The Wii-U's first year is looking notably worse than the PS3's. Even worse, the PS3's competition was already out-- the Wii U's hasn't even been officially announced yet. Imagine how bad things will be for the Wii U when the Xbox 720, PS4, AND the Steam Box launch next year. Anyone who was sitting on the fence about Wii U is just going to wait for something bigger and better the hype machines for Nintendo's competitors start going full speed.Zelda WiiU is gonna hafta be the best game of ALL TIIIIME to sell this clunker of a system. Wow, no Darkstalker for WiiU...now the WiiU is doomed
Besides...a bunch of multiplatforms that began their development way before the WiiU launch will not be on the console...SW at its finest.

lol apparently you know nothing of it then.
I feel like it will go the same route as the Wii. The developers will shift focus to the PS4/X720. The only thing that will still make Wii U a must buy is the Nintendo 1st party titles.
Honestly, I can't say until we see next gen multiplats announced. If the next xbox/sony consoles are powerful enough to run UE4, then the Wii U will be left behind again.tagyhag
I'm almost certain that will be the case. Great 1st party titles and the occasional 3rd party surprise will be the Wii U's future.
While I agree it's baron right now, aren't a lot of these games that had planned development cycles?
If the Wii missing out on Darkstalkers doesn't worry you, the absence of Dark Souls 2 should.Wow, no Darkstalker for WiiU...now the WiiU is doomed

Wii U is already out, and it's already missing out on most big multiplat releases. That situation is not going to improve-- it's only going to get worse once developers will have to scale down next-gen games to current-gen standards just to run on it. If that's the case, they might as well keep making games for the PS3 and Xbox 360-- and when those systems are no longer profitable to develop for, the Wii U will be an outright money pit to develop multiplats for. It's essentially starting this gen in the same place that the Wii ended up being in at the end of the last gen-- completely abandoned and friendless in the game development community.

At the outset, it sure looks that way.
But I'll give Nintendo the benefit of the doubt for now. If we're still looking at this kind of picture on the verge of 2014...well...

.
way to early to make claims like this . almost all the games on that list have been in development way before any one had dev kits for wii u and i think their should be all wii u exclusive games in those franchises if possible any way

Absolutely. At the same time, the publishers had more notice than we did about the WiiU's launch and capabilities... and we knew 1 1/2 years in advance.
Every game on the list has it's own challenges in development, but a healthy number could've been prepped for a WiiU release if the publishers wanted them. And hey, several of them still might. If Nintendo was serious about wanting to bring core gamers back to their system, then they are likely pushing hard with publishers to expand support ASAP.
It's pretty damn obvious that the only way Nintendo is going to get any type of third party support is if they go hands on with the developers themselves. They need to start throwing money around and securing exclusives (like they did with Bayonetta 2)
One thing for sure though is that you can bank on it having stellar first party titles.
Tell me something I don't know. At least more people get to see how the Wii U's future is as grim as RIM.
Unless you own yourself a really good gaming PC, then it would be a bad idea to shell out $350 for a Wii U for right now, when you can buy either a PS3 or a 360 for $250 apiece, in which they both have larger gaming libraries.

This. And unless either Microsoft or Sony leaves the console market (most likely Sony soon, giving their current financial situation), then most 3rd party developers are going to continue to ignore Nintendo's platforms (especially western 3rd party developers).
They've never, ever had awesome 3rd party support since the NES & SNES (& they barely got some with Gamecube).
You know, I'm sure it will be incredible with outstanding art direction, it's why I bought a wiiu afterall. However, by the time it hits, the wow factor of current gen visuals(or slightly better) will have worn off. That's the letdown with wiiu for me--it could have been so much more. I bet more people would have preferred a $400 console if the tech was a bit better.Zelda WiiU is gonna hafta be the best game of ALL TIIIIME to sell this clunker of a system.
